My Ideal Person
Since ideals are rarely personified, I'll settle for a man who loves the Lord with all his heart, soul, mind and strength...a man who will worship God with me every Sunday in church, who will lead our household as is instructed in the Word (husbands, love your wives as Christ loves the church!!), and who will genuinely enjoy life and all it throws at us. I am not looking for Christ personified - just a man who looks to the Lord for guidance in all aspects of his life and is not looking for a perfect woman - just one who is willing to be the weaker vessel.

Please describe your faith. How important is your faith to you?
What is this life for if not for a relationship with God? That is what He made us for. If we're not seeking Him, this life is pretty pointless.

Which Scripture verses are most important to you?
John 15:5, 1 Corinthians 10:4-5 and Philippians 4:13.

Why is a Christian relationship so important to you?
Believers and unbelievers are like oil and water - they just don't mix especially in a marital relationship. God commands us to not be unequally yoked - I've had a 29-year example of why in my parents' marriage. I simply would not be able to live with someone who does not have a desire to pursue an active relationship with God.

Where did you grow up? Where have you traveled? What are some of your favorite places to visit?
I was born in California and lived in the San Francisco bay area until I was 11. We moved to Virginia Beach. I lived in Houston for 2.5 years but returned to VA Beach 5 years ago. I've vistited and driven through several states, but I've never been outside of the country. I love going to my cousin's house on Long Island (in NY), and I love going to D.C. and touring all of the museums and monuments. I've always wanted to visit Ireland and Australia.

What are your favorite activities both at Church and outside?
I love teaching children's Sunday school. I enjoy the whole worship service - Sunday morning is when I get fed for the week. I really enjoy eating dinner with the different families my children and I are close to - nothing like a good meal and good company!

What is your day like? Describe your daily routine.
I get up at 5am and work out for 45 minutes (although I've slacked off in the last couple of months). I get myself ready for work and my kids ready for their respective places (daughter - school and son - daycare). I spend 9 hours in a cube farm for an HMO for people on Medicaid. I pick up my kids after work and go home. We eat dinner then do homework. The kids get bathed and ready for bed. We have a Bible story and prayer time together - lights out at 8:30. I get things ready for work and school/daycare for the next day and then I have my quiet time for an hour or an hour and a half before I go to bed.

What are some of your personal and spiritual goals?
I want to walk more closely with God so that I can truly be a living testimony to everyone I come in contact with. I want to really and truly and once and for all read the Bible all the way through in a year and develop a more consistent prayer life. I want to finish my bachelor's in education, get my bachelor's in English and my master's in education. I want to raise children who never stop seeking God.
