Being retired and widowed in the same year was hard but now I am ready to begin a new path. My marriage of 38 years to another science educator was a wonderful one and I miss the close bond and common interests we had for helping others, exploring God's natural world and His spiritual one.I enjoyed a full relationship with my husband until his illness. I am of Italian heritage: I love to travel: churches, museums and historical monuments and cemeteries are top on my list. Reading, classical music, movies, watching soccer or football are my other interests. I co-ordinate the Readers in my parish and enjoy that calling. I am looking for a partner to walk the rest of the Path.
My Ideal Person:
A Catholic partner with similar interests, good health level, education and location proximity. Physical age not as important as health and mental age. Non smoker! Financially secure.
Favorite television shows:
CSI, anything on PBS; international soccer
Favorite films:
Star Wars; Star Trek; James Bond, Titanic; Men in Black
Favorite musicians or bands:
Luciano Pavorotti, Beatles; YoYo Ma; Three Dog Night;
anything Celtic

Please describe your faith. How important is your faith to you?
It is a source of strength. I am the coordinator of the Readers in my parish. I am very atune to reading the Word in liturgy. I still struggle with some aspects of the hierarchal bent of the church , but I am a cradle Catholic.
I also want to reflect the gratitude for my faith to others and be more open to what God has planned for me.
Which Scripture verses are most important to you?
The ones extolling the power and majesty of God and the saving power of Jesus. I am currently in Bible study of the Women of the Old Testament and I am truly engrossed and surprised at some of the stories.
The Genesis account of the Bible and evolution are different ways of describing how the world was created. The new Testament is WHY.
I am very please evolution has be affirmed in this way by the pope.
Why is a Christian relationship so important to you?
I want to be married in the church and continue to practice my faith with my husband. Both my father and my husband were converts. I cannot imagine being married to a non-Christian or an atheist.
Where did you grow up? Where have you traveled? What are some of your favorite places to visit?
My first 3 years were in a small coal-mining town in western PA. Our family moved to Florida when my grandparents retired there and because of the employment opportunities for my father as a coach. His job at a small Catholic High School didn't pay much. My youngest sister was born in Florida .
I have travelled recently to England and Scotland at the invitation of my husband's English relations; I visited family in Italy with my mother; I have travelled to Jamaica, Canada and the Bahamas. I have RVed through Alaska when the children were young; I would love to see Yellowstone and other National Parks.
What are your favorite activities both at Church and outside?
Reading at the liturgies and Bible study I have already mentioned. I have helped n my sister decorate the church for holidays and I also train new Readers.
I am active in Science Fair, but now not as a director anymore!
I accompany one of my daughters to her Agility trials and to my other daughter to all of her concerts.
What is your day like? Describe your daily routine.
Everyday is a Saturday! Retirement is a lot more fun than I thought it would be. I make my own schedule, mixing business and pleasure and domestic stuff. I am having repairs on the house and rearranging all the files and other things I brought from my job.
I am lonely, however, and even though there is freedom, I am not really content.
What are some of your personal and spiritual goals?
Starting the next phase of my life with a caring loyal partner. I would like to learn more about the Bible, parish administration, church history and also learn Italian and take up my violin again.
I still am available to my school system and the university as as consultant and grant writer and I hope this continues.
