My how the years fly by. 39 and single again. This time I love my job, manager at a pet shop. I have learned so much about the more exotic types of pets from parrots to chinchillas to snakes and so much in between. Now if I could just figure out men. Hmm. I don't find myself with a whole lot of spare time, though when I do I enjoy riding my horse, reading a book or watching a movie. I am involved in a weekly Bible study with some wonderful brothers and sisters in Christ. They remind me that it isn't things that matter, but relationships with God and others that make life worth living. Having been through some painful trials, a Bible verse I cling to is I Peter 4:19. It says "Those who suffer according to God's will should commit themselves to their faithful creator and continue to do good." I am a people person, an optimist, and enjoy adventure. I believe that people should do what they say and treat others with respect.
If I may say one more thing? I do not hold on to bitterness. There are those who have hurt me badly, but I forgive them. Life is so precious and short. I could not embrace and enjoy it if I were bitter over past hurts. I wholeheartedly embrace enjoying each day as if it were my ONLY day. In doing that, I am able to say that I am not just happy, but truely filled with His joy.
My Ideal Person:
I like a man who is educated, not overweight (much), has confidence in who he is, and loves God with all his heart. He must like animals, and promise not to yell at me (my hearing is fine, thank you very much). I will treat him with respect and expect the same in return.
Optimism is important to me. That is, seeing the good in things even when there is primarily bad going on. Please don't say "but I am only being a realist". That works for some people, but not for me.
Having said all that, may I also add that for compatibility with me, he needs to exhibit a sense of humor. People who take themselves too seriously may be perfectly together people, but in my opinion they are probably missing out on the joy there is in life. Embrace life! Smile once in a while!
