Friends say that I'm blessed with the best of both worlds…..a big city girl with small town charm and strong values. Very blessed to have been raised in a strong Midwestern, Christian family and community with two loving parents who are still together.
As a result, I’ve been very fortunate to have enjoyed a very interesting life. Lived in downtown Chicago for 15 years and Washington D.C. for a short time for graduate school, so have been exposed to and enjoy all that the major metros have to offer. Now live in suburbia as it’s closer to work (did that reverse commute for two years) but brother and sister-in-law have a house in the city so down there often. Enjoy spending time in both areas.
Have led a somewhat unconventional professional life enjoying careers in both the private and public sectors (worked on Capitol Hill, NASA, etc.). Now enjoy a career in the software industry as a Microsoft consultant (business not technical side) for a Fortune 500 technology reseller.
When I'm not doing the 9 to 5, you'll find me happiest if I'm involved in some type of athletic endeavor or adventure. Also, love to travel. Regularly participate in cycling, tennis, golf, softball, and of course hitting the gym. Huge passion for adventure travel (sea kayaking, mountain biking, rafting, hiking, etc.). Past trips have included Montana, Nicaragua, Napa/Sonoma Valley, Oregon Coast, and the Tetons/Yellowstone. Looking at Tuscany or Crete for this year. Next up is kayaking near Lake Tahoe.
At the same time, enjoy volunteering with my church, playing the piano (studied classical music as a child), jazz, modern dance and all kinds of ethnic foods that Chicago has to offer.
