Profile for LitChick2911
Hello!

I hope you're having an amazing day. *smile*

My name is Hope.

Currently, I'm a graduate student working towards a Master's in Education as well as Research and Teaching Assistant for the Foundations of Education and Curricular Studies Department at The University of Akron.

My interests are quite varied. They range from an intense love for literature and the written word, to a passion for travel, music, the outdoors, cooking, conversation and more. I am a (kinda) published writer and a musician(I play the piano and I sing, mainly in church).

I am a born-again Christian who attends a non-denominational church. My faith in Christ is very important to me. It's the cornerstone of my existence. I'm deeply involved in ministry both musically and wherever else the Lord happens to need me. I've attended the same church for 28 years and it still feels like family.

Ultimately, I'm looking for a romantic relationship. However, if God sees fit to bless me with an equally wonderful friendship, I certainly count that as an amazing blessing.

I'm open to discussing anything with anyone. As I'e said, I enjoy conversation and hope that you will take advantage of that. There is so much more to who I am than these small white boxes can encompass. I do so hope that you will take the time to say hello.

I truly wish YOU all the best of luck in your search.

May you and all you do be truly blessed!

My Ideal Person:
When it comes to my "perfect" match, I hesitate to use the word perfect. I realize that everyone hold imperfections and it is those very imperfections that make the person as a whole so very desireable. The thing I look for most in a potential match is a true heart for God. If a man doesn't love the Lord, there is no way he can ever love anyone completely and unconditionally, including me. A man who shares, at least in part, some of my interests would be ideal. There is of course no substitute for a warm laugh, a kind heart, a passionate spirit, and an affectionate soul. I don't care so much about the outer shell. I seek a man that's handsome on the inside. The body fades but the soul remains. Show me what lies within your heart...and let us see what comes to pass.

Favorite television shows: CSI, Mythbusters, How Its Made, Sports Center, Law andOrder CI, etc.

Favorite films: Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, Passion of the Christ, Senseand Sensibility, etc. (Many favorites)

Favorite musicians or bands: Avalon, Ray Boltz, Miles Davis, Frank Sinatra, MichaelBuble, etc.

Please describe your faith. How important is your faith to you?
I was raised in a Christian home with two loving, caring Christian parents. They made sure that my sister and I were always in church, from the normal weekly services on Sunday and Wednesday to every pig and hotdog roast, concert and guest speaker. It is thanks to their instruction and faith that I came to accept Christ as my Savior at the age of six. I was baptized when I was nine and from that moment onward, I made sure, as did my parents, that I was involved in some form of ministry. As a youth it was our youth group, Witness, and a strong involvement in our missions team, youth vocal ensemble and various other musical pursuits. As an adult, my ministry is mainly the music ministry. I sing, both in the choir and in a solo capacity and I also play the piano and keyboard on many occasions. My personal faith is just that, very personal. I believe that Jesus Christ was God's Son come to earth. He was 100% man and 100% divine. I believe that he died on the cross to save my soul and provided a way for me to spend eternity with Him through his resurrection three days later. I believe that my salvation is secure, regardless of what I might do, as His sacrifice covers all my sin. I believe that, although I am imperfect, I am continually growing and learning how to better serve both God and the souls who so desperately need His love and salvation. My goals in life are to serve Him as best I can in all ways possible. I believe He has led me to the place I now find myself and will continue to lead me as long as I allow Him to. He is my father, my Savior, my Healer, my Lord, and my God. I cannot wait until the day when I shall see His face and embrace Him.

Which Scripture verses are most important to you?
Jeremiah 29:11 Matthew 28:20 Romans 10:9-13 Romans 8:38-39 Phillipians 4 Psalm 119 Isaiah 40:28-31 Psalm 121:7-8 Romans 8:1 (and so many more!!)

Why is a Christian relationship so important to you?
Christ is now the center of my being. He exists in my heart and permeates my entire self with His love and wisdom. If God is in control of my life, then how can I have a meaningful relationship with someone who does not share that relationship? If we do not share the same goals, ideals, dreams and beliefs from a spiritual perspective, problems and heartaches could and would most definately arise. God is the creator of all things and the instigator of relationships. If He is not at the center of our lives in every way...how can we expect anything we do to succeed and bear fruit?

Where did you grow up? Where have you traveled? What are some of your favorite places to visit?
I grew up in NE Ohio and have lived here for most of my life. I haven't traveled much and certainly not out of the United States, although that is a huge dream of mine, to see the world. Favorite places to visit include northern Michigan, where the there is much peace and quiet, birds singing, deer grazing in the woods, trees swaying in the breeze, and the quiet beauty of creation. I greatly desire to visit England. The literary and religious history is immense as well as the physical beauty of the country. Other areas of interest are Italy, France, India, Africa, Switzerland, Australia, and, well, so many others.

What are your favorite activities both at Church and outside?
My favorite church activities are musical in nature. I sing in the choir, as well as a soloist, and I play both the piano and the keyboard. Favorite activities outside of church include avid reading (I enjoy a wide variety of literature, from classical English/French/Russian lit to Christian Fiction, philosophy, theology, etc.), travel, gardening in season, cooking (I'm really quite good), sketching (pencil mostly), writing (I've had poetry published and I'm working on other more substantial writing), music (I play the piano, sing and play the flute), theatre, and crafting/creating.

What is your day like? Describe your daily routine.
At this moment, my life consists of school, school and more school with a bit of work mixed in. I wake up early and go to bed late. My degree will be completed in May of 2009 and after that, I will (hopefully) begin teaching in a full time capacity. As of right now, my graduate work and my graduate assistantship take up most if not all of my time.

What are some of your personal and spiritual goals?
Personal goals include: (1) Marriage (2) Family/Children (3) Home/House (4) Publication (5) Graduation (6) Teaching (7) Doctorate Spiritual Goals: (1) Short Term Missions (2) Continue to sing as a ministry (3) Read the Bible through to the end a second and third time (4) Take part in various other ministries, perhaps leading some with my future husband and children (5) Help others and love them as Christ has loved me.
