I am spontaneous and fun-loving , but I have a quiet, contemplative side too. I love to walk hand-in-hand in the rain and play in the mud afterwards. Take me on an afternoon hike and let's picnic at the top in the light of the setting sun. *sigh* WARNING: I don't like chocolate, roses or candlelit dinners. I would so much rather do something unique, unplanned, and out of the ordinary, more memorable! I have been single for several years now, which has transformed me from being a voiceless doormat into a strong independent woman. However, I am quite tired of that life. I want to take off the cape and tights and just be a (wife & mother. The title of 'Supermom' needs to be retired. I believe that God intended children to be raised by two parents and that the head of the household should be a man. I have six children, two of whom have moved out already, four left 'in the nest'. I own my century-old house and do most of the repairs and upkeep. I live in a small town and work with 'Special' children. I have three cats that are dear to me... please don't tell me that they make you sneeze or wheeze!
My Ideal Person:
First and foremost, you must always put God above all else...above family, friends, work. If you are not seeking (an active verb, not passive) Him first, all else will eventually fail. I need someone who is confident in WHO they are as a man. Big wussies who only bend over and kiss my feet are sooooo annoying. Stand up and be a man! How can you be the spiritual leader if you are bowing down to me? I would love a man who is young at heart, but not immature and childish! Although I am spontaneous, I need someone to help keep me grounded. I would also love a 'Mr. Fixit' and a guy who loves to cook and do yardwork. It is not that I can't get those jobs done, I just don't enjoy them. Hey, just come and get to know me, my quirks and all... you might catch me in the blogs...

Please describe your faith. How important is your faith to you?
I was blessed with great faith. Just for example, God sent me to this small town, away from my family, friends, a job that I LOVED, a safe and nurturing neighborhood, and a big, exciting church. I am a single mother of (multitudes) of children, this was a HUGE (and hard for others to understand) step to take. I had peace about it though. I know that this is where God wants me (for now, at least). I believe it was a test of my faith. I also believe that God is not done sending me. Wherever He wants, I will go.
Which Scripture verses are most important to you?
My favorite verse is Ephesians 3:20. "Now, to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than we can ask or even imagine...to Him be the glory! Amen!" You know, God has always supplied for my needs and has also blessed me abundantly. He knows my heart and has only the best in mind for me. I just simply love and adore Him.
Why is a Christian relationship so important to you?
I have had relationships that were not Christian in my past, including my marriage. I think they are comparable to the gates of Hell. Everyone suffers while they live in that sinful crud and fleshly horror. The pain is not worth it. There is greater respect and true love that can only be found in a God-centered relationship.
Where did you grow up? Where have you traveled? What are some of your favorite places to visit?
I was born in Texas. From there we moved to Illinois and then Kentucky. Sadly, I barely remember these places. (I do remember hiking Daniel Boone Mountain... and catching snakes and eating sweet peas and wild strawberries there.) I have hardly traveled at all, only to visit various relatives here and there. I dream of visiting the castles of Germany.
What are your favorite activities both at Church and outside?
Well, church is my social life. I am on the praise team and lead the drama ministry. It is a small church (about 100) in this po-dunk town. The highlight of it, I would say would be the Worship team. I have really bonded with those on my team. I sing the male part, hee hee, because I have the lowest voice. Kinda funny. The males in the congregation appreciate it though.
What is your day like? Describe your daily routine.
Well, Normally, I get up at 6:15. I try to get to the shower before the kids fight me for it! This year, I have to leave for work before the kids head off to school. I hate that. I feel like I should be there when they leave and when they get home. Sad. After school, I help kids with homework... cook... clean up... that leaves about an hour to spend with them until bedtime. After I tuck them in, I head down to my room for my personal God-time. Weekends, I try to get caught up with all the chores that I couldn't get a grip on during the week. :(
What are some of your personal and spiritual goals?
I started seminary last May. Unfortunately, I have way too many things on my plate right now, and had to back off on this, postpone it. I am very passionate about my ministry call, and I know that the timing will be perfect eventually and that God will make that clear to me. In the meantime, I continue to write for Him. I yearn to grow deeper into Him, to know Him more intimately than ever.
