I live in a small town near Lincoln and Omaha. I have a 15 year old son and one dog and one cat. I attend an Evangelical Free church. I like to read books. I am currently reading Rocket Boy. (Excellent!) I am in a book group. We meet once every month. I like to hang out at Barnes and Noble. I like to watch movies. I recently saw Iron Man and thought it was great. Some other recent favorites are I Am Legend and Jumper. I like to eat out. I like any kind of food except Greek and Indian. My favorites are Chinese and seafood. I listen to all kinds of music except rap and the only county I like is Keith Urban. I recently joined a gym and hope to spend more time there. I like to travel and enjoy going to new places and experiencing new things. I drink alcohol occasionally, but not a lot. I don't smoke. Other activities that I have participated in include the following: golf, water ski, snow ski, ride bikes, rollerblade, jog, play racketball, attend car shows and races, go to museums, plays, zoos, etc.
My Ideal Person:
The single most important factor is someone with a Christian faith --someone who places God first, lives out his Christian principles every day and goes to church regularly. I would like to have some similar interests in common. It has to be someone who likes kids (since I have a son). If you have children, great! I like kids. Nonsmokers only. Politically, I am conservative and do not want to get involved with someone with extremely liberal views. He has to enjoy traveling because that is a important part of my life. Chemistry is a must. I wouldn't enter into a dating relationship without it.
Favorite television shows:
My favorite television shows, like my music, change over
time.
Favorite films:
Iron Man, I am Legend, Jumper are recent favorites
Favorite musicians or bands:
It changes over time. Right now I am listening to Journey.

Please describe your faith. How important is your faith to you?
My faith is first in my life, which is the way it should be.
Which Scripture verses are most important to you?
Psalm 23 is my favorite. I also like John 3:16, as well as many others.
Why is a Christian relationship so important to you?
Becoming a Christian has had a profound impact in my life. I'm thankful for my salvation and I want others to have the same experience.
Where did you grow up? Where have you traveled? What are some of your favorite places to visit?
I grew up in a small town near Lincoln and Omaha. I have lived in Nebraska my entire life except for one year in Denver. I love to travel and enjoy exposing my son to new places and new experiences. We swam with stingrays in the Caribbean, for example. That is something he will probably never do again and will always remember. Some of my favorite trips were a Caribbean cruise, Virginia Beach and the San Juan Islands near Washington. The mountains and ocean are especially nice since we don't have those here in Nebraska. I occasionally travel to Phoenix to visit my brother or to Tampa to visit a friend. I have never been to Europe but would like to in the future.
What are your favorite activities both at Church and outside?
My church activities usually involve hanging out with other women. I usually attend a women's Bible study group. I’m involved in a book group. We pick a book each month to read and then get together to talk about it. In another group, we go out to eat once a month and, in my third group, we meet once a month to watch a movie. My church just bought an old Walmart building and I plan to be involved in the process of converting it into a church building. Outside of church, I read, watch tv, surf the Internet, shop, walk my dog, spend time with my son, watch movies or eat out. Occasionally I bowl, play miniature golf, or see a concert, play or something at the Lied Center. I used to rollerblade and ride bikes when my son was younger. I also took him swimming and to zoos, plays and museums. Before he was born, I played golf, and went snow and water skiing. I am open to getting involved in some of these activities again. I exercise, but I'm not a fanatic about it. I also love to travel and like to see new places and experience new things. In terms of volunteer activities, I recently applied to be a CASA volunteer. CASA volunteers are advocates in the court system for abused and neglected children. You are assigned to a child, you get to know that child and his or her situation, and then make a recommendation to the judge as to the placement of that child.
What is your day like? Describe your daily routine.
My daily routine varies. I usually get up and read the news on the Internet, then I get my son up for school. I just got a new job, so I am not home as much as I was in the past. I get up around 5:30 or 6:00, skim the news and my email and leave for work around 7:00. Right now I spend several evenings per week training for CASA and spend Wednesday evenings in a women's bible study group. I also walk my dog in the evening. I don't have much time for tv anymore. I will somehow try to fit workouts in my schedule. I may have to go before work, which will be a challenge.
What are some of your personal and spiritual goals?
One personal goal is to move forward with my career. I put it on hold when my son was born and now that he is older, I am ready to pour more time and energy into it. Other goals are to raise a happy, healthy and well-adjusted son. Travel is important. I definitely want to do more of that. Spiritually, I want to grow in my relationship with God, learning more about him as I study the Bible. Getting married would be nice. I don't want to grow old alone.
