40 year old Woman in Baltimore, Maryland, United States Looking For: Men for a dating relationship, marriage, a friend, a bible study partner, a pen pal or a prayer partner

Profile for imashepherdgirl
I am new to this online thing, with just a few months til the divorce is final. I was married for 15 years and tried everything to make it work, (including seeking godly counsel from my pastor and many Christian counselors.) I guess you can say I am older and wiser. Especially after reading all those books on marriage, I could probably be a marriage counselor! LOL Being new to this online thing and single again, I'm not looking to rush anything but would like to start out as friends, corresponding, and see where it goes. I haven't given up on the possibility of someday meeting the right person for me.

My friends describe me as very down to earth, kind-hearted, good listener, witty, confident, motivated, smart, resourceful, loyal, and caring.

I enjoy travel (especially local or mini-day trips but also more exotic places) and outdoors. As a devoted mother, one of life's greatest satisfaction comes from loving and learning from my child, who has so much to teach me about the beauty of life and patience. I enjoy sipping tea and relaxing to being spontaneous and taking a day trip to the beach. I like going to restaurants especially Italian or Outback Steakhouse.

I am looking for someone who may be a parent himself, who can appreciate what it is like being a single parent. Someone who enjoys life and is highly motivated, yet has time to relax and cuddle and be close. Someone with whom I can go places with and share true companionship. Qualities I am looking for in a person are stability, good communication, honesty, kindness, christian values, the ability to compromise and the willingness to work on a relationship should it go to the next level.

I enjoy good conversation about anything from spirituality (which going to church is very important to me and I am looking for that in my partner), politics, health issues, travel, financial ect.

My favorite sayings are "Carpe Diem", "If there is a will there is a way", and "With God all things are possible",
"shake it off" (popular among football coaches) Even when there are dips in life's road I always try to stay positive and optimistic and learn from the experience.

I also enjoy volunteer work...in 2007 I volunteered my time in a local women's homeless shelter and wrote resume's for women without jobs...In the annual report it stated all women in the shelter now had jobs. It's a great feeling of fulfillment to give back to society.

I like all kinds of music especially contemporary Christian to Jazz, Pop, Classical, Opera or Country. My favorite musical singers are Andre Bocelli and Josh Groban.

Thanks for visiting my profile. I wish you success in your pursuit of finding true happiness.

My Ideal Person:
I am looking for an individual who spiritual but also down to earth. Someone who is a deep thinker but can be practical minded also. Additionally the person should be objective and reasonable to talk to and a fluent communicator. Ideally I would like to meet someone who has been through trials but learns how to make lemonade out of lemons, someone positive, and motivated, with whom we can share our insights and experiences.

Favorite television shows: James and Betty Robison, News, Lifetime movies

Favorite films: The Passion, Enemy of the State, JFK

Favorite musicians or bands: Josh Groban, Enya, Keith Green, Jim Croce, Bocelli, News Boys, Maranatha

Please describe your faith. How important is your faith to you?
My faith is very important because it means eternal salvation, peace, and being in the hands of the eternal creator who loves me. Through trials and when I've fallen short, God still shows Himself faithful. When my faith is tested, the Lord many times has brought wonderful people in the Body of Christ to minister to me. It is so important to be in a body of believers.

Which Scripture verses are most important to you?
"I will never leave you or forsake you" That is so comforting because sometimes I don't feel him there and I know I don't deserve him to be there. It just shows God's mercy to me and how He's been there especially throught this trial of divorce.

Why is a Christian relationship so important to you?
A Christian relationship is important to me because it's like iron sharpening iron. I have some wonderful women Christian friends and it would be totally awesome to have a spouse who just loves God and with whom I can fellowship with. I believe a relationship should be based on being spirtitually uplifting with fellowship, compatibility in personalities, temperment, stimulating conversation, parenting styles, intelligence, goals, and physical chemistry and attraction. With that said, I don't necessarily believe that the attraction occurs up front necessarily but as two people get to know one another the beauty of each person shines through. I've been through worldly relationships and they are just so unfulfilling, so based on the physical which fades about as fast as it starts. I hope one day I will meet someone with whom I am compatible with in all categories.

Where did you grow up? Where have you traveled? What are some of your favorite places to visit?
I grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia. Went to Catholic schools grades 1-12. I am not Catholic now, accepted Jesus at 15. I respect Catholic people, even though I have some doctrinal differences with them and I appreciate the moral values I got in Catholic school. I've been through most of the US. Lived in Vegas about 20 years ago and was involved with an evangelistic church. I've been to Nova Scotia. I love the warm weather, especially Florida, Sanibel to be exact! I like the Jersey Shore, LBI is great. I also like Jim Thorpe PA, riding my bike along the mountain trails.

What are your favorite activities both at Church and outside?
I enjoy serving others. I am currently helping with the coffee bar at church where I get to meet lots of people and just be a servant. I've in the past been involved in Children's church, Nursing home ministry, street evangelism and homeless ministries. I am currently focusing on raising my son and have on occasion volunteered at his Christian school. I enjoy fellowshiping with other Christians as well as outdoor activities. I love listening and singing Praise and worship. I love going to church. I love camping, bonfires and the beach. I love bikerides and walks on nice days. I enjoy bowling, tennis (even though I'm not that great at it), swimming, reading, a good movie, bargain hunting, I always try to buy everything on sale.

What is your day like? Describe your daily routine.
My day is different every day because I work part time. I start out with the TV turning on to preaching the AM to help get me ready for the day. I am working on a more regimented prayer time and Bible reading time. I get my son ready for school, then go to work. On my days off I am doing errands and have some "me" time. In the evenings I do homework with my son, pray with him and put him to bed. Some nights we work on his bible verse for school. After that I spend some quiet time relaxing and wind down my day.

What are some of your personal and spiritual goals?
My spiritual goals would be to trust God more and read his Word more as well as pray more. I would like to give more to my local church, financially and of my time. I also want to be more compassionate and accepting of others, reach out and share the Lord with the Lost in a loving and accepting way.
