My User Name is One of His Jewels. I chose this out of my memory of a Children's Day in the Methodist Church where I was baptized at age four. We sang the hymn "When He Cometh to Make Up His Jewels." When I was even younger, Mother used to rock me and sing, "God Will Take Care of You." These experiences gave me a strong belief that I am a child of God. I've been involved in church music all my life, adult choir beginning at age 12, then as a soloist, director, and song leader. The best compliment I ever received was a woman came up to me after the service and said, "I was healed as you sang, praise God." The hymn was "The Woman at the Well." My voice is not reliable for performance today. Likewise, my piano skills. A few years ago I was into producing church plays and acting in community theater. Also, the Lord gave me some original gospel songs that I occasionally sang in public. Just the writing of them enriched my life.
My Ideal Person:
My husband and I were married 43 years. They were harmonious years, though much troubled by his poor health. At 46, he suffered his first heart attack, and was never well after that. Then he died at age 67 in a highway accident. After the health difficulties he had, I have feared recommitment but have decided perhaps a good relationship is worth the risk. I'm hoping to find a kind and considerate man, around my age. in good health for his age, someone who has a personal relationship with the Lord. Although this is a good community and I am settled comfortably here, with two married children nearby, I would be willing to relocate for the right person and situation.
