I’m an old-fashioned girl looking for that man who will also give 100%. I’m strong, independent, capable of taking care of me, my home, my yard, my vehicles, and my future. Someone to share my good fortune with and build a future of memories with would be the icing on the cake. I’ve worked hard my whole adult life and the Lord has blessed me with much. I have the love of family and friends, and a job where I truly make a difference and save lives. I have loved the freedom of being single, but as my friends find mates and get married, I’m finding I’m ready for that partner to get old with. Travel, share adventures with, and build a future where we don’t have to worry about taking care of ourselves when we can no longer do that. I’m spontaneous, but like structure and organization. I like men to be gentlemen and open my door, bring me flowers, and hold me tight when I need some comfort. I believe every word in the Bible (Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth) and a man’s character matters most. I want to travel to the places I haven’t seen yet, but I need the grounding of a home (base). I will try almost anything at least once, and the list of things I want to do in my life just keeps growing. I love taking care of my yard and house and someday I’ll actually find the time to finish all of the little things that still need to be done from my renovation. One of my best skills is creating an atmosphere that is warm, inviting, and comforting. My home, a dinner party, a special function, I just like to put that touch of class that makes people feel special. I am a servant and enjoy the rewards of manual labor. Partly to balance out the mental gymnastics I endure all week at work, but mostly because of knowing I worked hard. I know how to cook, clean, and sew, just like mothers used to teach their daughters. I’m computer literate, and I learn about enough of the new technologies to keep up. I go to a non-denominational bible church, and my favorite things are the incredible music talent we have and my Bible study group. We have the best teachers, we keep up with and pray for each others challenges and celebrations. And it’s so nice to hear people say they missed you when you couldn’t be there. I love good food and wine, so I like dining out, but I prefer dinner parties at home. I mostly like seeing people savor my food or tell me how much they enjoyed the evening. I like all kinds of sports but football is my favorite. I love my HDTV, and I’m searching for the right provider so I can watch all the games and feel like I’m there! I love the contemporary Christian music, but I grew up with the Eagles, so the music of that era is like comfort food for the ears. I love good jazz, and I can enjoy opera and classical music. I used to love going to the local country dance place, but even that’s changed. I still have a large collection of country music that I like listening to, but old standards like Todd Rundgren and Boston are unbeatable! I like watching movies, but I don’t like all the foul language and unnecessary violence in todays movies. Movies are a momentary escape from life, so I like to be left with a smile on my face and hope in my heart. I love to dance, but after surgery on both feet, it will be at least a year before I can get back to that. My daddy taught me how to follow and I wish there were places like the old speak easys where you could dress elegantly and spend time dancing and enjoying the evening with friends. I love the water and sailing, but I still have a fear of sharks from watching Jaws, so I’ll only swim where they don’t! If I had to pick one I’d have a retreat home in the mountains. If I could have both of my loves I’d also have a home by the beach or on a large body of water. There’s way too much left to see in the US so someday I’m going to take an RV trip to see the Grand Tetons, the national forests, the Crazy Horse monument, Mt Rushmore, etc, etc, and visit all those friends over the last 30 years who said “We’d love to have you come visit!”.
