The above adline was the title of a song on some old sheet music seen at a recent museum visit, and it seemed to be a great descriptor; I generally let you know what I think and feel quite directly, although hopefully tactfully. (Ask me about Abilene decisions).
Seeking the perfect man who can unconditionally love an imperfect woman! (But an ordinary guy who can read and write reasonably well, support himself, love the Lord and be an encourager would be most adequate)
Despite Mom and Dad's kindness in providing me with many years of piano lessons, I play abominably (lack of discipline to practice) but LOVE to sing (and am pretty good at it!) A partner who shared musical ability or interest would be a tremendous enhancement.
Kids are off to college or almost. Looking forward to grandkids some day but (hopefully) not for several years.
My former husband's mental illness and that of other family members, among other things, has taught me to live through almost anything and carry on with life as usual. God reminds me from time to time that nothing is wasted in His economy. I can sympathize and emphathize with almost anything you've gone through and thrive in crises (not necessarily a good thing).
It's a great blessing to be able to use the skill I developed in Spanish to work as an interpreter. Working in court, though, means most of the men I meet are in custody, and the atmosphere is generally serious and sad. Life is more what I make it off the job, so I lead all kinds of activity groups and host travelers from all over the world, planning day trips and hikes. It would be really neat to retire in Mexico, or at least live there part of the year. If you already have a favorite site in Costa Rica or some other Spanish-speaking country, that would be okay, too.
My Ideal Person:
Faithfulness and reliability are the cornerstones; after that, someone who shares some interests in language-oriented activities (crosswords, maybe speaking other languages), being outdoors, likes to travel and be hospitable and talk and listen. Ideally someone who can play guitar or piano for me to sing to -- or for us to sing together. Extra stars awarded if you are a Caucasian who grew up in the U.S. (or in a missionary community abroad), also speak Spanish and like hispanic culture. I enjoy meeting people who are different from me, but at the end of the day when it's time to go home and relax, the more you have in common, the better, so I would like someone with more cultural similarity. It would be really neat to retire in Mexico, or at least live there part of the year. If you already have a favorite site in Costa Rica or some other Spanish-speaking country, that would be okay, too.
