I am a committed Christian first, mother second, grandmother third, daughter, sister, friend. I don't form friends easily--a bit shy and probably a bit skeptical. But if you are my friend, I am a friend you can count on. The more I do for others, the more love I am surrounded by. Don't have a lot of time to offer right now--sandwiched between elderly and my career. Sometimes can squeeze in grandkids (I have 5). Two sons, two daughters-in-law, more joy than I can describe. Divorced for 10 years now after 29 years of marriage. I am an artist in my soul and must create by sewing, stitching, decorating, gardening to feed my love of all things tactile and visual. Like to smile a lot. I also hum constantly (can't help it--not something I can control). This may irritate some. Love to fish, athletic, competitive, romantic, real dreamer at heart, but eternally optimistic. Can't control my joy at life and creation and how blessed I am.

Please describe your faith. How important is your faith to you?
It means everything to me. Without my faith, I would not be complete.
Which Scripture verses are most important to you?
Be Still and Know that I am God
The Beatitudes
John 3:16
23rd Psalm
Why is a Christian relationship so important to you?
Only a relationship centered in Christ has any chance of success. I believe it is the only honest relationship.
Where did you grow up? Where have you traveled? What are some of your favorite places to visit?
Grew up in Dallas, Texas. Traveled to Germany in 1968 and lived there for 18 months. Have lived nowhere else except Texas. Traveled to Hawaii for Christmas 2005. Visited Colorado with my sister regularly until the last 3 years due to family obligations on my part.
What are your favorite activities both at Church and outside?
I had to abandon my church family in order to take my elderly step mother-in-law to her church when she was no longer allowed to drive a car. As the church we attend is very far from my home and the fact that I work nights, I do not have an active involvement other than to be a regular attender. I used to enjoy singles "game nights" and pot luck dinners prior to my change.
What is your day like? Describe your daily routine.
I rise about 8-9 a.m. If I am lucky, I have about 4 hours before getting ready for work. I spend this time cleaning, cooking or sewing. That is after I do my morning devotion. However, Wednesdays and Fridays are days I just get up and get ready and leave early to help my mother-in-law grocery shop on Wed. and on Fridays to fetch my mom from the nursing home and take her home to Daddy's and fix lunch and visit with them before I go to work. Work is 4:00 p.m. - 12:30 a.m. Bed by 1:30a.m. and up at 8 to start again. My life is pretty much a blur. But I sleep sooooooo good!
What are some of your personal and spiritual goals?
To continue to improve my health and spiritual well being through organics, study and prayer. Hopefully, someday to have a partner to be a witness to my life and worship with. One son is a minister--I hope to bring the other and his wife to Christ through our example some day.
