Hi. I am Lisa and, before I tell you about myself, I want to say thank you for taking time to read my profile. I hope we have a chance to discover more about each other :)
I am a person of strong Christian faith and it is my faith in Christ that gives me courage and strength. I am a woman of integrity and courage. I am a great encourager and like to think of myself as a good conversationalist and listener.
I enjoy the arts but I also enjoy being outdoors--hiking or watching a waterfall. To me, watching the trees blow in the wind is like a visual symphony. Does that make sense?
I am fun to be around but I also know when to be serious. I am complex. For instance, I enjoy having plans but also enjoy doing things spur of the moment. I am self-assured because of who I am in Christ. I know my value and worth in His eyes and I try to be a reflection of Him to others.
I am not self absorbed. This is a strong statement, but I am not sure how else to put it: I demand respect but I also give it.
I cherish close friendships and value family. I love to entertain in my home and I am a good cook willing to try new dishes to surprise guests. For instance, last night I had a very imprompu dinner party. I have only had Indian food once in my life and yet I decided to make coconut curry chicken. Guests raved and I was pleased that they liked what I had prepared.
If we meet, and I hope this does not come across as bragging, but I make killer cheesecakes and apple pie!
I prefer winging it when it comes to cooking. It allows me to be creative in the kitchen. More times than not, it turns out well. I think that this is a good analogy for me: I am a planner to a point but I am good at winging it. I tend not to care a tremendous amount about details but care alot about the end product. I get it done and done well. I put alot of effort into life and relationships hoping that others will recognize this good quality in me and be motivated to be kind, not only to me, but to others.
I am passionate about music and art. I love to laugh and enjoy entertaining friends. I am a good cook and often, when entertaining, encourage others to help in the kitchen.
I love old movies. As a Christian, faith is important. I love adventures!
My favorite color is lavendar. My taste in music is eclectic. I enjoy jazz, country, praise, classical, and oldies. I enjoy Italian food...but I am adventurous and willing to try almost anything. I do enjoy reading. Rain-I enjoy watching it inside.
I do enjoy reading. It is not uncommon for me to have 3-5 books going simultaneously. For the sake of disclosure, though I do have other outlets, the Bible is at the top of my list. I think that reading makes a more well rounded person & conversation.
In addition to owning my own small business, I am workiing towards using my artisic talents to make a living. Writing is also another outlet. I also work for a non-profit org. I am going part-time to college. I was a single mom for 17 years. Ask :)
My Ideal Person
I am looking for someone who is marriage-minded with a strong Christian faith but who is not legalistic. Someone who views women as a partner to be cherished and not controlled. An excellent communicator. I am seeking a soulmate and I am willing to wait for God's best for me.
Not to sound shallow, but financial stability is essential.
Intellegence is also important. Someone with a good sense of humor (I know how to laugh but I need someone who, when I get too serious, can lighten things up : ).
It would be great if he really enjoyed music or he was creative.
