67 year old Woman in Rochester, Washington, United States Looking For: Men

Profile for mamabudrfly
I am a committed Christian. That means I have accepted Christ as my personal savior and have committed to spend time in the Word, in prayer AND in church with other believers. I am an honest woman of integrity who has a great capacity for love and caring and the usual attributes we all seem to have or want. I am also very straightforward. I enjoy cooking and do so on a volunteer basis, mostly through my church for groups. I am not a fantastic cook, just average. The difference is that I am willing to put forth the effort in this area where others might prefer to stop at KFC. My claim to fame is that I have never poisoned anyone. I have lots of chick hobbies (crocheting, knitting, quilting, leaded glass, graphic design, gardening, reading) but I am willing to try just about anything someone might suggest at least once. I have tons of home improvement projects to get done, but I procrastinate. I have found that I hate working on those things alone for some reason. I think I just enjoy the feeling of togetherness when someone else is working on a project with me, even when there is no talking. . . . now doesn't that sound better than saying I am too lazy to get started? I love to laugh and do so every day. Of course, my cat gets this very worried look on her face when I suddenly start cackling when it is just her and I in a room. Physically I enjoy low impact activities - like walking and hiking. Partly because it is something I can do without being buff, and partly because I am an uncoordinated klutz with most physical activities. When my sons all moved away I started my own tradition on Christmas of going up to the National Forest (yes, I know it isn't recommended to do this alone) and spend a few hours hiking around, spending time with God and reviewing my past year, and listening. I enjoy spectator sports if I know someone who is playing. And the great thing about spectator sports is that they need people to spectate - I have the skills for that. I don't do well as a participant. My 's still enjoy the story about when mom was on the parent's team of a softball game - while they love the retelling of the story, it was not a pretty sight. I cannot grasp the rules of football, do not understand the pleasure of watching sweaty men (or women) trying to beat each other up in boxing, and professional wrestling is just as bad as soap operas only they don't dress as nice. But I can fix quite a feast for others to enjoy while they are whooping and hollaring about their favorite team. I can't carry a tune to save my soul. My voice is truly so bad that babies cry and dogs attack (I have stories to back up those claims). Unfortunately I love to sing. Since it really distresses the cat when I start singing at home, I have taken to crankin' up the radio and singin' to my heart's content while driving (alone of course). I will never, ever chose to bungee jump, skydive or eat any type of animal brains with or without scrambled eggs. I am a support person, not a leader. It isn't that I can't lead, but I don't need to. I enjoy working behind the scenes. For every leader of a project you need alot of other people to work out all the details and make sure everything runs smoothly - I am one of those people. I am not shy, I just don't need the limelight. I am divorced so you already know that I have a past that is not perfect. I spent many years, studying relationships, examining and making changes to mself , and building a stronger more mature relationship with the Lord. When I travel to visit my sons and their families back east I load up all kinds of treasuresI have made for these families I love; taking as many fully loaded heavy bags as I can without paying extra. Arriving at the airport I always struggle with manuevering that many bags without dropping something or have the wheels suddenly swivel in the wrong direction. But on the journey back home, I am able...

My Ideal Person
My relationship with Christ is the #1 relationship in my life. I am looking for someone to fill the #2 slot (my grown children and grandchildren get position #3)

I am looking for a man who has the same priorities in his relationships. A man who spends time in the Word, in prayer and with his current church body.

I'm looking for a man of integrity who I can respect. I would much rather begin building a Christ-centered relationship on a firm foundation of respect than the fleeting emotions of romance. But, like most women, I do want the romance also, in its time.

The man does need to be able to provide leadership to his family. He does that by the example he sets for his family and with love and kindness. I will submit to such a man not because he demands it, but because he is a man worthy of my respect and honor as set out in the bible.

Whether a man has 0 or 18 kids, pets or no pets, bald or hairy is not as important as his character because it is the inner qualities that a successful relationship is built upon.

He really should have a great sense of humor and laugh easily. If not, he better be prepared for me to laugh at and privately poke fun at his uptight ways, cuz it will happen.

I do expect him to have resolved any previous relationships before initiating a new one. I would hope that like me his baggage is empty and ready to be filled with treasures for those he loves.
