63 year old Woman in North Las Vegas, Nevada, United States Looking For: Men

Profile for JavaGirlTC
Most of my friends would say I have an easy-going personality. On a date, I tend to enjoy movies, eating, and conversation). In my spare time I read, write creatively, and answer emails about how to witness the truth to Mormons. I typically practice my faith by attending worship service and a Bible study class, as well as listening to an on-line sermon before bed. Some of my favorite activities are watching movies, frisbee golf, pool, reading, picnics, malls, and long walks. Where I live is not very important. I am certainly willing to travel or move for the right person! When I'm at home, I enjoy listening to Christian pop, secular pop, and Big Band, 50's, 60's, & 70's music. The types of films I enjoy are romantic comedies, suspense, fantasy, and sci-fi. Money and career are only important to me in the sense that I want enough to provide for basic needs and some "wants." Some of the more interesting things I've done in my life is appearing on the Oprah Winfrey Show (for a wardrobe make-over), asking Donny Osmond for a date (back when I was Mormon), being in a high-speed chase (fleeing a would-be assaulter), and trying to manuever the car safely off the road after my accidently set off a pepper-spray canister while we were driving.

My Ideal Person
I'm looking for someone who wants to waste no time in developing a relationship.
I like going out on dates and meeting new people, but my real reason for being on the site is to establish a serious relationship that could lead to marriage, and I'm looking for someone with the same goal.

My ideal man is one who puts God first and loves His word. He is patient, tender, kind, but not a push-over. He's a good listener who isn't turned off by tears. He loves children and takes pride in being a father and wants to be a caring and involved step-father.

My ideal man is not afraid to express affection and doesn't always expect it to lead to sex. He is playful (water fights, building snowmen, walking in the rain) and has a good sense of humor. He doesn't have to have a degree, but he must at least be self-educated, loves to learn, has a good grasp of vocabulary and is intelligent.

He must be willing to make marriage a godly and intimate relationship; prayerfully depending on God to make him a husband who is willing to lay down his life for me as Christ laid down His life for the church. I don't expect perfection, but I do want him to be committed to the Lord and committed to making marriage a beautiful "dance" insomuch as possible. Likewise, I want to respect him and honor him as head of the household, which will be easier to do if I know he is always seeking God's will in our lives.

My ideal husband is familiar with the Bible and "tests all things" to see if it is from God. Having been deceived by a cult for many years, I don't want to marry someone who gets "revelations" to do odd things; like stoning the kids or proclaiming himself a prophet, or saying God told him to take on another wife.

My ideal husband has a heart for reaching the lost and ministering to others, but does not neglect his family in the process.

My ideal man is not addicted to or interested in pornography, gambling, or drugs/excessive drinking. He has a desire to treat me as his queen even when I don't deserve it.

My ideal man has good communication skills; no name-calling or vulgar language. He can address an issue without making personal attacks.

When it comes to physical health, I exercise often and expect my potential mates to be at about the same fitness level (or better I like my dates to be assertive in decisions but willing to follow my lead.
My feelings on children are that I love being a mom and love my children very much, and if my potential mate has children I will be loving toward them and do my best to make them feel important and cherished.
I like my date to be somewhat adventurous and intelligent, with a sense of humor, with personal qualities as having a strong and deep love for the Lord and a desire to live a godly life.

The people I tend to be attracted to are funny (as in "ha ha," not funny as in "strange" , thoughtful, firm but not over-bearing, and kind.
I know there's chemistry between my date and I if my "beaker" boils over (that's a science joke

Please describe your faith. How important is your faith to you?
My relationship with God is extremely important to me. He rescued me from a cult and I will forever be grateful that he saved me!

Which Scripture verses are most important to you?
Romans 8:28, "For we know that God works all things together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose."

Why is a Christian relationship so important to you?
I want to be equally-yoked with someone.

Where did you grow up? Where have you traveled? What are some of your favorite places to visit?
I grew up in Southern California and in Las Vegas. I went on a road trip across country just a couple years ago and it was awesome!

What are your favorite activities both at Church and outside?
I enjoy Bible study, teaching, and public speaking. I also like a variety of activities including reading, playing pool, frisbee golf, and movies.

What is your day like? Describe your daily routine.
Pretty mundane, actually. I work till the afternoon, come home, get dinner started, play with the kids, use the computer, read, listen to an on-line Bible study while playing solitaire :), then I hit the sack!

What are some of your personal and spiritual goals?
I would like to be able to travel to share my story of leaving Mormonism and teach Christians how to be effective witnesses to those in cults.
