Have been on and off online dating sites for a while and have made some really good friendships. Even fell in Love and thought I met the "one" but it didn't work out. Let's face it. Online dating is challenging but so is meeting anyone in the real world. Everyone has some baggage and we probably have some trust issues with relationships. Most of us are divorced right? So why is it so difficult at this age to really commit to someone??? Some of the issues I have found are: combining households, becoming a step parent, income, distance with jobs, family, stress from daily life, common interest, and time. Not to mention the fact that we are grown adults with ground in values and beliefs already instilled in us from life experiences. Being single has its advantages. You can do what you want, dress how you want, go where you want, pay your own bills, not worry about disagreeing with someone about how the toilet paper goes on, etc...Being independant has its advantages!!! But something is missing when you don't have that one special person you can count on when your having a bad day, sick, or lonely. Something is missing when you don't have that special person to enjoy all the good things in life with...Like sharing a meal you cooked, watching a movie, traveling, having someone to talk to, etc...Most importantly having someone you think about when you fall asleep or wake up in the morning, someone to hold at night and make passionate love to, someone to kiss, snuggle, caress, massage, did I mention kissing???? lol
I am secure with my life being single but I do hope there is that one special man still out there looking for me to share the rest of our lives together.
