Profile for WorshippingOne
Yes, all of the information below is still me with one little exception: I met someone here on Big Church, and on Nov. 18th, we were married which means I'm officially off the market. And, by the way, his name happens to be David!

ME:

The main pic was taken the summer of 2003 and the pic of me on the bike, Labor Day weekend, 2002. Pic #3 was taken March, 2006. Guess you could call this my everyday look (i.e. I usually dress casual and don't wear lots of makeup).

As far as my personality, I'm probably 55% choleric(confident, natural leader, bold, decisive, determined)/45% melancholy (loves music, likes detail and analytical work, conscientious and thorough). I have a pioneering spirit about me and a tenacious, never say never approach to most things. Add to that a strong Word of faith background (Copeland/Hagin) and...well...let's just say I've jumped out of the boat a time or two (and gotten wet a few times, too, if you know what I mean).

I'm fairly energetic, outgoing, and enjoy people; but I'm not gregarious. I would rather spend quality time with one person than to be at parties or group gatherings.

I'm very honest, dependable, generous, tender-hearted, and compassionate; and even though I am a leader--a take action versus passive type of person--I am wired to be a helper and the more you get to know me, the more this will become readily apparent because it comes out in everything I do, whether it be in my professional, ministerial, or private life. It's this aspect of who I am that continues to leave me pondering and in great anticipation of what the Lord has in store for me up ahead.

Want to REALLY get a feel for who I am? Click on the link to my personality type here (left-hand side of this page). Yep, I'm Miss Innovator! Then, go to my blog WorshippingOne. I believe it's not about picking and choosing; it's about discovering the ONE you're divinely designed to fit with. So take a look. It's the only way you'll be able to n2MeC (into me see).

MY BUSINESS:

I'm a 29-yr computer professional; self-employed, working part-time since 1995, allowing great flexibility and time for my music, ministry, exercise, and living an unusually relaxed lifestyle. I have an amazing story of how God's grace has strategically orchestrated everything regarding my business. In fact, my entire life for the past 27 years is one amazing story.

MY INTERESTS:

I have traveled extensively throughout the USA by plane, car, RV, bike-both the motorized and self-propelled kind. I love the mountains and live near the Blue Ridge Parkway where I've done a lot of hiking, biking, camping, and sightseeing. I also love staying at cozy inns and B&B's.

In addition to working out in the gym as often as I can, I'm an avid bicyclist and have been since 1990. I currently have over 40k miles on my road bike. Ever heard of Rails to Trails? I've ridden quite a few of these trails, both on-road and off, in several states up and down the east coast from Florida to Cape Cod. Now, however, due to my current work and ministry situation, I only ride locally, but I would consider it a treat if I were to have an opportunity to explore a new trail somewhere or ride an old one with a new friend...hint, hint!

Not much on TV other than watching my favorite TV preachers (Joyce Meyer, T.D. Jakes, Paula White, Creflo Dollar, and others on TBN), pro football (go Cowboys!), a little tennis...and WOMEN'S BASKETBALL! HUGE fan of both college and the WNBA! By the way, you score extra points with me if you can name all 14 WNBA teams, at least two players on each, what college they played for, AND their college coach!

MY FAITH:

I grew up going to a Southern Baptist church where I was born-again at age 8. But when I was 12, my life dramatically and radically changed when I was baptized in the Holy Spirit. (Click here to read my testimony: Speaking in Tongues) In my late teens, I did the Prodigal Son thing for awhile and took a nose-dive into the world, but it didn't last long. In 1979, I returned and truly made Him Lord and haven't stopped seeking Him ever since. Without a doubt, I AM His workmanship, and like Joyce Meyer talks about, I've spent much time on the potter's wheel! (See Jer. 18:4.) He's turned me every way but loose while preparing me for all He's called me to do--and it goes beyond music, too, I might add.

I have an extensive spiritual resume as far as ministry in the church: leading worship, playing various instruments, teaching, leading small groups, helping start churches, one-on-one mentoring, and more.

However, it's not my doing that defines my relationship with Him. It's who He is to me and my daily, intimate relationship with Him.

One of my greatest testimonies is how He has transformed me from a Martha--too busy and distracted by much serving--into a Mary. Took me a long time to learn that my work FOR the Lord is not the same as my walk WITH Him. Now the only thing I strive to do is enter His rest and stay in step with the unforced rhythms of His grace (i.e. let His grace set my pace).

MY MUSIC:

My heartbeat is contemporary praise & worship. I've been a worship leader for many years. I'm also a songwriter and minstrel, but most of the music I minister is written by such contemporary artists as Michael W. Smith, Paul Baloche, Darlene Zschech, Ross Parsley, Terry MacAlmon, Don Moen, and others.

My favorite genre of music to just sit and listen to is contemporary jazz (instrumental only). Favorite artists along these lines are Russ Freeman and the Rippingtons, David Benoit, Dave Grusin (LOVE his orchestral stuff!), Dave Koz, Kenny G, Syro Gyra, Four Play, Lee Ritenour, and others.

Sorry, but don't care a thing about southern or country gospel, even though I grew up playing and singing it. Same goes for country and bluegrass.

MY MINISTRY:

In 1985, the Lord gave me, basically, an outline of what He has called me to do. Immediately I took steps. However, it's taken years to develop, and even with significant events taking place the last two years, there is still a lot that is yet undefined.

The gist of what I'm about is this: I produce worship CD's in my small home studio and use them as tools to enhance the worship experience of small churches, church plants, home groups, and anywhere there are either no musicians, few skilled musicians, or the venue is restrictive. I then work with church leaders, consulting with them on everything from sound equipment to people issues, and coach those who are involved with the music. The title I have on my business cards is Worship Ministry Consultant and Coach.

My Ideal Person:
I'm looking for my David--a man after God's own heart--a spirit-filled, worshipping, God-chaser; the one who I've been divinely designed to fit with. Is he a singer, musician, or involved with music in some way? Maybe, but maybe not. What IS a given is the music that floats my boat doesn't sink his and vice versa!

Beyond his spiritual maturity and walk with the Lord, the single-most critical factor in determining whether or not someone is my David isn't his personality, his character, his values, his interests, or his looks--although those are important. It's his purpose.

Do you know what your purpose is? Will my calling (what you know of it) fit with yours, and vice versa?

I've met some really great guys through posting my profile here and on other relationship web sites the past two years. I've also met some that...well...we won't go there. (big grin)

But instead of searching for someone with all the right stuff so to speak, I'm searching for the person I'm called to run my race with because when I do, I believe I'll find not only the man who will fill a void I now have, but will complete the picture and propel me into the next chapter in my life without needing to re-write the book.

Yes, I'm a woman with a unique call on her life. But I am more than that (and God knows it). I also long to share true spiritual, emotional, intellectual, and physical intimacy with someone. My heart aches for companionship. I've walked alone for a very long time, and when I say I'm ready to give my heart away to someone very special, I mean it. I'm ready.

I have more written about my David (and me), on my blog WorshippingOne. I've also posted several comments on others' blogs concerning things like relocating, meeting people online, etc. Plus, I've answered several of the additional questions here on the profile. So don't stop now! I'm just getting started!
