Hi! I work in the education field, and I've also done freelance writing, PR work, and office work. I enjoy reading, writing (stories, poetry, letters), church activities, scrapbooking, gourmet cooking, photography and travel. I have a BA degree in English and communication. After nearly seven years of being out of school, I returned and completed the teacher education program. I'm excited about what the Lord has in store for me.
My Ideal Person:
If you are a Christian man who is interested in establishing a friendship first, I am interested in meeting you. You have to have a true, growing relationship with Jesus, and you're willing to take your time getting to know me, just as I am with you. I am interested in friendship that leads to a serious relationship and possibly marriage. I am looking for someone who is patient, down-to-earth, has a good sense of humor, and enjoys conversation.
Favorite television shows:
Classic movies, "Gilligan's Island"
reruns, "Keeping Up Appearances"
Favorite films:
The Matrix, Shrek (both movies), Casablanca, South Pacific,
Walk The Line, To Have and Have Not
Favorite musicians or bands:
The Manhattan Transfer, Keith Urban, Al Jarreau, Kenny
Thomas, Luther Vandross, too many to name!

Please describe your faith. How important is your faith to you?
I am continually growing in my faith in the Lord. It has not been an easy path, as I have encountered some trying situations in my life the past seven years. I find that He redefines me every day, and shows me in various ways that He takes delight in me. The Lord continues to open doors of opportunity for me to serve Him, as I have mentored several younger women in their faith and I coordinate an online prayer bulletin for my church.
Which Scripture verses are most important to you?
Proverbs 34:8--"Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him"; my favorite guideline is found in Proverbs 3:24-25--"Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do so...." We never know when we have an opportunity to be used by the Lord.
Why is a Christian relationship so important to you?
A Christian relationship is important to me for several reasons, but the main one is that you have the most in common with someone if you share the same beliefs and faith. In a marriage, it makes the best of your life with your spouse...more consistent for raising children, too.
Where did you grow up? Where have you traveled? What are some of your favorite places to visit?
I grew up in the Chariton Valley region of Missouri. I have been to Texas and several Southern states, Colorado, the Dakotas, and Canada. I particularly enjoy Texas and Canada. I hope someday to travel to England, as many of my friends have talked with me about going there.
What are your favorite activities both at Church and outside?
I enjoy going to worship services and casual get-togethers at church. I also enjoy music, particularly "oldies", soft rock, jazz, and rhythm/soul. I like taking leisurely drives, being with friends, starry nights and sunsets, attending theatre (plays, musicals), and watching classic movies. Gourmet cooking has become a passionate hobby. I enjoy going out for lunch or for a casual walk. I also enjoy giving "tours" of the area where I live, as there are several historical sites and places of interest. Picnics are also fun.
What is your day like? Describe your daily routine.
Much has happened since I last edited this profile--earning my certification and changing career directions. Now, my daily routine includes not only work, but also exercise and some volunteer leadership activities. Since I have not spent enough time with the Lord in prayer and quiet times, I am working harder to establish that in my life each day.
What are some of your personal and spiritual goals?
I want to help people to not only develop important skills in English, but to get the most out of their lives. I have tutored several students in English, and I have found it humbling to see how far they have come in their lives. I want to keep doing that. I also want to find that special man to spend the rest of my life with.
