OK, so there is no such thing as a “good guy” and you are one of the few who has realized this fact… But never the less, white knights still ride, though at times covered with soot. The truth (not abstract) is that I have been on a rather long and treacherous journey of addiction, loss of career, divorce, bankruptcy, jail, rehabilitation, and reconciliation with my Father in Heaven.
The ultimate crisis in life was coming to the end of “self.” I would not, nor could have chosen the circumstances that brought me to this conclusion. I always knew I had to give “something” up, or make a sacrifice, I just never realized it was “me” God wanted. I was a wet, dirty, stinky, lost sheep – but I was His sheep! I had finally come to the point where I had nothing left to “offer”, except me. That, I found, was all He ever wanted. The overwhelming fact is that there was absolutely nothing I could do to make God love me any more in Christ than He already does. To this fact I only needed to surrender. (Rom 12:1, 2 & Gal 2:20)
I am Recovering in Jesus Christ and continue to work the 12-steps as God enables me. It has been an exciting time in my life; I have finally come to consider the pain and trials of this most recent chapter as pure joy. I don’t know what the future holds, but I know the one who holds the future! It is evident to me that it really doesn’t matter what I have done or where I have been, but rather, what I do and where I’m going. The most important thing for me is the “next” thing – one day at a time.
For the first time in my life I am free from the baggage of bad decisions, worldly attachments, and unprofitable relationships. I’m a little older, slower, and have some aches and pains for the experience, but the wisdom gained has been priceless. I am determined to not let what is “good” keep me from what is God’s best.
If you are a child of God with a surrendered heart, and would enjoy some fellowship with a like minded man who lives by grace and gratitude...
My Ideal Person:
What do I do for fun?
I have fun doing everything I do. Sometimes it’s more like a challenge, rather than ha-ha fun, but in any case doing something well gives me great enjoyment. The down side is that if I can’t find the motivation or challenge then I simply don’t do it!
My favorite local hot spots or travel destinations?
Iraq, Iran & Palestine are all great “hot spots” but I don’t really want to go there anytime soon. I am a caffeine achiever so a coffee shop is hot enough for me. I’m as comfortable on the couch as I am wandering around Europe or in a small US town
My favorite things?
I love to cook meat, especially rare steak over the Bar-B-Q. I’m very eclectic when it comes to everything else and I will try anything at least once. From international cuisine to any destination found by GPS, my favorite things are still out there.
What’s the last thing I read?
Grace Walk- by Steve McVey. Mostly I’m a hit or miss periodical reader, gleaning odd pieces of irrelevant information to spice-up a conversation. I enjoy Court TV, History, & Discovery channels. I like to write (slowly) so I mostly read my own stuff.
What ethnicities describe me the best?
I’m a bit of a Heinz-57 but the predominate nationalities are Northern Italian and Welsh. With a little English, Scot-Irish, Danish and Cherokee thrown in for a mix, I’ve got Braveheart eyes, spaghetti hair, well spoken lips and an adventurous sprit
What is my faith?
I’m convinced I’ve been on a spiritual journey my whole life, with no end in sight. Christian describes me best, but I am cautious of “Religion” if it oversteps the Word of God as found in the Bible. The most important thing is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
How would I describe my education?
I come from a long line of teachers, so naturally I was too smart to stay in school. At 16 I got my GED and hit the ground running – only recently have I paused long enough to look back. The schools of life and hard knocks have done me well.
What’s my current work status?
I currently work for the City’s Traffic Engineering Department as a Sign & Markings Technician. Formally I was a House Manager at a secular residential drug, alcohol and eating disorder treatment facility. The main thing is that I perform the purpose for which I was created: To glorify God and enjoy Him forever!

Please describe your faith. How important is your faith to you?
My faith, in and of myself, is of no use or importance at all. However, the Faith that comes from the Father is eternally significant. I praise God that he has poured “this” faith into my heart.
Ephesians 2:8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—
Luke 17:5 The apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith!" Acts 3:16 By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong. It is Jesus' name and the faith that comes through him that has given this complete healing to him, as you can all see. Romans 1:17 For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith (Habakkuk 2:4).
Romans 3:3-4 What if some did not have faith? Will their lack of faith nullify God's faithfulness? 4Not at all! Let God be true, and every man a liar. As it is written: "So that you may be proved right when you speak and prevail when you judge. Romans 4:5 However, to the man who does not work but trusts God who justifies the wicked, his faith is credited as righteousness. Romans 10:17 Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.
1 Corinthians 15:14, 17 And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. Galatians 3:23, 25 Before this faith came, we were held prisoners by the law, locked up until faith should be revealed. Now that faith has come, we are no longer under the supervision of the law.
Hebrews 12:2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Which Scripture verses are most important to you?
Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
Why is a Christian relationship so important to you?
2 Corinthians 6:14 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?
Where did you grow up? Where have you traveled? What are some of your favorite places to visit?
Born and raised in Clearwater Florida. Have been to Canada, Mexico, Greece, Alaska, and other parts unknown. My favorite places are yet to be explored.
What are your favorite activities both at Church and outside?
Eating, lol.
What is your day like? Describe your daily routine.
Work is my only routine by necessity… everything else could be considered a random event decreed by God from the beginning of time.
What are some of your personal and spiritual goals?
To Glorify God and enjoy Him forever.
