 | WELCOME to my Blog!
Intro -- Embarking on a new journey
I am tired of acting "normal", but not being accepted anyway.
I might as well "play" the fool. And such I may be.
My Blogs from here on out will probably be a little--strange, lol.
Or a lot strange, my forte.

WHAT are the PURPOSES of life?
(The text that follows is nearly identical to the Blog "WHAT is the MEANING of life?" )
If you say something like "to know God", without explaining the meaning of that as well, I might just blast your answer.
A non-Christian could say, "to know and be known, to love and be loved, by PEOPLE" (or their dog, LOL ). So someone putting "GOD" in the space where they'd put "PEOPLE" doesn't really explain it. It just removes it one level.
I don't plan to let off "easy answers" here easily.
Do please include both this life and any life or lives or existence to come that you may believe in.
Christians, please don't blast those here who don't believe in the Biblical, physical resurrection. Thanks.
Oh, and one other thing: If you have the boldness, audacity, pride, or arrogance to actually answer this question as though you yourself somehow have the answer, be prepared to tell us your source or sources, and to indicate your level of knowing, knowing vs. "faith", that is. This is a serious question. I don't just want glib answers.
I don't care what or whom you quote. This is my blog. Respectfully quote anyone.
Bible verses are fine too. In fact, I'll start off with a few, though I don't see an explanation in them necessarily.
"And for Your pleasure they are and were created...". -- Revelation 4: 11
"The gift of God is Eternal Life through Iesou...". "This is Eternal Life: that they may know You {{the Father}}, the only true God/theos/elohim, and Jesus Christ/Iesou Christo/Yahshua Messiah Whom You have sent". -- Romans 6: 23. John 17: 3.
"... continue in my love. If you keep my commandments, you shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. These things have I spoken to you so that my JOY might remain in you, and your JOY might be full. This is my commandment, That you love one another, as I have loved you." -- John 15: 9-12.
"For I consider that the sufferings of this present time {are} not worthy {to be compared} with the glory which shall be revealed in us". -- Romans 8: 18.
But for me, even these do not explain fully the meaning of this life, and ESPECIALLY the Life to come.
Now for a separate question, put in a separate Blog, which really is not the same:
WHAT is the MEANING of life?
Here, and later.
"PURPOSE"--Selected verses (KJV, sorry ):
Job 33: 17 That he may withdraw man {from his} purpose, and hide pride from man. Ecc 3: 1 To every {thing there is} a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: Rom 8: 28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to {his} purpose. Eph 1: 9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: Eph 1: 10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; {even} in him: Eph 1: 11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: Eph 1: 12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. Eph 3: 11 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: 2Ti 1: 9 Who hath saved us, and called {us} with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, 2Ti 1: 10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:
The words of the preacher/teacher, the son of David, king in Jerusalem: "Vanity of vanities," says the teacher/preacher; "Vanity of vanities. All is vanity." -- Ecclesiastes 1: 1-2. Or Absurdity, Frustration, Futility, Nonsense, Meaningless. Hebrew vapor.
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear elohim, and keep his commandments: for this {is} the whole {duty} of man. For elohim shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether {it be} good, or whether {it be} evil. -- Ecclesiastes 12: 13-14 KJV (with elohim ).
But still I ask, WHY? No verses I know of satisfy.
And the verse Revelation 4: 11 just causes me to wonder: "And for Your pleasure they are and were created...".
And while I am at it: "The foolishness of God is wiser than Humans; and the weakness of God is stronger than Humans". -- 1 Corinthians 1: 25.
And lest anyone think I am a complete fool, or people think themselves wise in such matters:
Rom 12: 3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think {of himself} more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. {{HELP MY UNBELIEF!}} Gal 6: 3 For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. 1Cr 2: 9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 1Cr 8: 2 And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know. Eph 3: 20-21 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him {be} glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
Phl 4: 8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things {are} honest, whatsoever things {are} just, whatsoever things {are} pure, whatsoever things {are} lovely, whatsoever things {are} of good report; if {there be} any virtue, and if {there be} any praise, think on these things. {{AMEN! PRAY THAT I WILL!}}

Thanks.

One deadline after another, MISSED
I keep missing deadlines. Sometimes it's like I feel almost paralyzed to work toward the completion of something. I'll work on something else instead. (I have a habit of being late too.) I might ask "What's wrong with me?" but I am not certain I'd want to leave such a question so open-ended. Better, I'll ask--
Please pray for me, in the Spirit. Thanks.

Am I HORRABLE??
|

Am I HORRABLE?? Yes, yes, it's spelled horribly, I know, but I just don't like or usually want to watch things like Freddy Krueger, Friday the 13th, slasher films, and the like. (I think; I haven't really seen them, but probably don't want to.)
Hey, I haven't even seen The Shining. ("Here's JOHNNY!" )
So, I ask again, Am I horrable? Or is that horror-able?
As a boy, on many Friday nights I would watch a local TV station's movies on a show they called Nightmare Theater. Somewhat creepy movies played then, like The Incredible Shrinking Man (an old one); The Invisible Man (the old one); The Crawling Hand; The Fly (the old one); and others.
I don't think they ever played The Night of the Living Dead, though I think I saw the original (or an edited version of it maybe) on TV.
I saw other movies like Rosemary's Baby (yuck ); some edited version (probably) of The Omen (yuck ); and Alien.
But I haven't seen a whole lot of films that were Horror.
"Lucky" me, I committed my life to "Jesus" when I was about 18 and a half (and didn't go out to many R rated movies before I became a legal adult ).
And, as a believer, I rarely would watch that sort of thing--ON PRINCIPLE.
In recent years, I HAVE seen a few Thriller type movies. I saw The Village (more Thriller than Horror, really ), and some other Thriller films, and some more-like-Horror ones, unwittingly. The movie The Number 23 was not too bad. 1408 was interesting. And Apocalypto was well made, though that was really violent. I've seen a lot of R-rated movies that had violence in them--and cussing, which I hate in movies 99.9% of the time--but I tend to avoid the murder-oriented or slasher types of movies, on the whole. Okay, I did watch The Lord of the Rings! LOL.
But, is there something wrong with not wanting to trash my already World-vexed mind with psycho violence? I DON'T THINK SO!
Though, if I were to list many of the ba-ad movies I've seen, I'd probably have a few Christians raise their eyebrows at me.
Something to ponder during the so-called HALLOWEEN season.
"ON PRINCIPLE".
Christians are SUPPOSED to be HOLY. "You shall be holy for/as I am Holy". Did no one teach you that from the Bible? Okay, well if not, it's there. And Christians are SUPPOSED to be pure, have pure hearts, minds even. No one taught you that you CAN and even SHOULD have a pure heart? Well, it's right there! We're not talking perfectionism here.
If you're ONLINE reading this, then you should have no problem going to a Bible Web site, like BlueLetterBible, and typing in the exact phrase: pure* OR puri* (the star brings up multiple words that start with those letters; OR means either one will do). Take a few minutes to try this. And see what the New Testament says when it uses words like PURE and PURITY.
Does the Bible teach that people's hearts can be pure? It sure does. WHY?? Because it also says that we can be CREATED (or re-created) again in God's image.
A lot of fun has been poked at the phrase "born again"--probably because most who supposedly are really aren't. (They sort of believed, but never quite got there, because of the lame and faulty "altar calls" that don't always preach the ACTUAL Gospel--listed in 1Cor.15-- and the OBEDIENCE to the Gospel--outlined and preached in Acts 2--BUT though they believed, they haven't really received the Spirit since they believed. This happened at least twice, in Acts Chapters 19 and 8.)
BUT, the Bible DOES say, "You must be born again / born from above". Yahshua of Nazareth ("Jesus" ) actually said that, in John 3.
The phrase born again is used elsewhere in the NT.
Born of the Spirit also comes to mind. Receiving the Spirit, being baptized in the Spirit, walking in the Spirit, being led by the Spirit--all these are from Scriptures in the NT as well. It EVEN says, "If anyone is IN Christ, {that person is} a NEW CREATION". In another place it says, "... what matters is a new creation". (Elsewhere, a similar formula says that what matters is "the keeping of the Commandments of God". These do not contradict each other.)
Romans 8 makes it clear that the Spirit was GIVEN to people in part so that they COULD keep His Commands, to do His will, to Love purely.
If your heart is not pure, can you really Love purely? And if your heart has not been cleaned by the Blood of Christ, can you really have a pure heart? And can you or should you be washed in His Blood but not become born again--a new creation--even baptized in and filled with the Spirit? If you have not yet received and been baptized in the Holy Spirit since you believed, this is in Scripture. One is to be properly baptized in water as well. And, people are to be baptized into the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit (sometimes called by people Holy Ghost ). Is not the Name of the Father "Y-H-W-H" or "YHWH" in Hebrew/Aramaic? (Hallelu-Yah! )
And the MIND may be made pure too. (Look it up! )
NOW, once the heart and mind are made pure, would you want to train your heart to covet, falsely desire, or to lust? to be angry, to hate impurely, or to despise? Would you really want to trash either of them by watching (and enjoying ) wicked behavior? getting into lusty or worldly lyrics? and desiring to be with people who really aren't Good? (Yeah, we all make sacrifices.)
Would you really want to go back to your own, old "love"? OR would you REALLY want to Love with the pure Love from God that the NT says is poured into the (purified ) heart by the Holy Spirit (and which should come out of the "new" person you have been re-created into )?
But, how much do you really want to follow, and to Love -- from a pure heart and mind?
That's a question that even backsliders like me even ask, from time to time.
And for you FENCE-sitters, "Jesus" says, "I would RATHER you were hot OR cold". Revelation 3 says that the lukewarm (people ) will be expelled out of His Mouth.
Some things to think about as the days and Love grow cold, and as people depart from Faith, as the Scriptures said would occur.
"Pursue Peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord/YHWH". --Hebrews 12:14.

CREMATION, burial, or does it matter? (NEED to decide soon!)

CREMATION, burial, or does it matter?
I've tried to think of verses that address this.
And does it matter if the person was not a professed believer?
Direct verses, and quotes from authoritative assemblies, are welcome. (Please no one be disrespectful about others' views here.)
We seem to be stuck with that decision. (See MY DAD DIED.)
Feel free to respectfully "correct" any views (here ) that you may feel are not correct.
Thank you! HalleluYah!
