WELCOME to my Blog!

Intro -- Embarking on a new journey

I am tired of acting "normal", but not being accepted anyway.

I might as well "play" the fool. And such I may be.

My Blogs from here on out will probably be a little--strange, lol.

Or a lot strange, my forte.

How far is TOO far? (Unmarrieds) Sep 28, 2006 6:56 am
Mood: curious, 610 Views

--for you as an unmarried, adult person, that is.

We all may know that "fornication" is prohibited to all.

And we might know that "no... impure/unclean person has an inheritance in the kingdom/reign of Christ and God."

But how far is too far? for you, that is. (Or is that an improper question?)

And why do you believe this?

And maybe how do you know this personally?

You may express your own opinion; however--
--If you have some "limit" that you think OTHERS must follow as well, you better soundly quote Scriptures to back it up!

.

A related but different question is--

How far do you think you as an unmarried person MAY go? and at what "stage"?

The same follow-up questions and restrictions apply.

.

Hopefully we will avoid here the extremes of licentiousness (license to do whatever) and "legalism" (either man's views expressed as God's commands, or even applying only the "letter" of the Word, and not the Spirit).

Have at it! But please keep it short. Thanks!

Lost "friend". Pray for us! Sep 15, 2006 1:19 am

Hi,

It appears we have lost what I thought was going to be a decent friendship.

I don't want to go into detail.

But please pray for us.

Thank you.

Feelings CAN be right OR wrong Sep 7, 2006 7:58 pm
Mood: contemplative, 628 Views

Do we have a "right" to all of our feelings?

If we were bought with a price by Messiah, the answer is No.

Even if a person is NOT a Christian, though the question might seem wrongly stated, again the answer is No.

Do we have a right to hate whenever we want to?

To supposedly "love" someone?? (even someone who is already married???)

To lust??

Do we have a right to be angry whenever we feel like it?

Or depressed?

Certain New Age and pagan and "psychology" and other answers might be Yes, but responsible people will say No. We do not. Though it's not always obvious.

I hardly ever read people's posts or emails or articles in support of this common-sense, logical, reasonable, and even Scriptural stand on "feelings" (emotions, desires, attitudes, motivations, motives, etc.). And often read apparently opposite attitudes expressed.

YHWH Elohim said to the prophet Jonah:
"Do you have a right to be angry??"
Even Jonah had an attitude about emotions, and said,
"You're darned tootin' I have a right!!!" (well, something like that).

The Bible makes it clear that not all that people think, do, intend, OR FEEL is right. Is it?

And it's time for some Christians to WAKE UP to this. (Wake up world.)

Maybe I haven't stated all things perfectly here, but it's time to grow up, and take responsibility for our feelings; and to let others possibly hold us accountable when needed -- without anger toward them, without judging them, and without attacking them or maybe even saying that they aren't "supporting" us (when that's exactly what they are trying to do, hopefully in a corrective way that is appropriate for the moment). Humility here and Compassion are important, and go both ways.

Truly, "the heart of a human is more 'deceitful'/deceptive/tricky than anything", though it does NOT have to be "desperately wicked/hurtful/harmful"!!! Nor does anything in our hearts or minds!

The New Testament says we can actually HAVE a pure heart and a pure mind; and this is actually commanded us as Christians. The choice is ours. (And people everywhere should repent.)

By His Grace, His blood, His Spirit, and His Word -- even through the Body/believers. Amen?

When hate and anger fill my heart Aug 27, 2006 7:24 am
Mood: sad, 543 Views

NOTE! This does NOT necessarily refer to me or to anyone else.

There are no tears,
there is no love
when hate and anger fill my heart.

There are no fears,
there is no Love
when hate and anger fill my heart.

And if my heart is fuller now than what it was before,
it doesn't mean I'm fuller now than what I was before.

There are no joys,
there is no peace
when hate and anger fill my heart.

There are just ploys,
there is no Peace
when hate and anger fill my heart.

And if I keep my heart filled up with passion from below,
it doesn't mean I've meaning in my life. And I should know

there is less Grace,
there is less Truth
when hate and anger fill my heart.

There is no Place,
there is no Heart
when hate and anger fill my heart:

And where Messiah ought to be, I find a lesser side of me;
and hate that which I've come to be, with hate and anger filling me.

And where Messiah ought to be, I find a baser side of me;
and hate that which I shouldn't be—

when hate and anger fill my heart.

NOT receiving JESUS--the Will of God Aug 17, 2006 10:03 am

NOT receiving the Will of God

UPDATED 6/15/2006. (Minor update 10/14/2006.):

One day I came across a book called Decision Making and The Will of God. I did NOT read all the book. It seemed to me that it was saying that we as Christians could aim in a wide circle of His "will", and hit it, that ideas about some "perfect" will of God were often erroneous. But that's not all it said.

I was given the book, but was DESIRING to read about His Will concerning such verses as "Those who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God"; and "Walk in the Spirit, and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh"; and "If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit". And about YHWH's and Yahshua's Voice.

I didn't feel I needed or wanted a book that said if I was a Christian, then I could basically pray and do what I thought was good, as long as it didn't seem to "contradict" the Bible.

I wasn't looking for God's "permissive" will.

It also seemed to be saying that hearing from God was some kind of "special revelation" or something. This idea seemed abhorrent to me. (Again, I didn't read the whole book, just skimmed parts.)

It sounded to me like the person didn't "know God", and didn't know the Voice of The Shepherd.

I wanted something written by someone who can truly say "I know the Voice of Messiah", because He Himself is recorded as saying, "My Sheep know/hear My Voice".

And He also said, "Call no one on Earth your Rabbi, for there is one Teacher, Christ." Even in the Old Testament it said "I will teach you" Psalm32: 8, and others; and "Trust in YHWH with all of your heart. And do not lean on your own understanding. Acknowledge Him in all your ways, and He will direct your paths/make your paths straight." Proverbs3: 5-6.

The Will of God, and how we interact with Him, sin, and how that is dealt with by Him, together are complex.

But, it all starts with receiving the Holy Spirit, and then being led BY Him into His Will.

.

"Don't be unwise/foolish, but understanding of what the Will of the LORD is".
~ Ephesians5: 17. Compare Romans12.

.

I have been unwise.

How many are willing to admit this about themselves, and repent?

(After nearly a month, this received not one Comment.)

UPDATED 9/15/2006 (just before my trip):

"Have you received the Holy Spirit since you believed?"

If you are wondering, see if you have obeyed the Gospel (Good News).

READ:

Acts8: 12, and vss. 14-17.

Exodus3 : 15. (Substitute YHWH for "the LORD".*1*)

While reading Acts2--THE WHOLE CHAPTER (seriously)--substitute YHWH for "the Lord" in the passage that Peter quotes from Joel.

Genesis4: 26. "the LORD" is actually YHWH in the text.

1Corinthians15: 1-5a ff. "The Gospel" defined.

Romans1: 16. "The Gospel is the Power of God to salvation...".

While rereading Reread Acts2 : 1-4, 14-40, substitute YHWH FOR "Lord" in vss. 20, 21, 25--from Psalm16; FOR "the LORD" in vs. 34; and maybe FOR "Lord" in vs. 40.

  • Did you believe "YHWH"? ( YHWH is the Name of Elohim/ Theos, typically translated "God".) *1*
  • Did you trust "YHWH"? *1*
  • Did you believe the Good News about Christ/Messiah and what He did--dying for our sins, being buried, rising the third day in resurrected Life, in fulfillment of prophecy--believing it for you?
  • Did you place your trust in Christ, not just His Words, but what He did for you according to the Good News, and not just in what He did but in Christ Himself?
  • Did you repent? turn from your ways--all of them--to commit yourself to do His Way?
  • Did you call with the Name of the Father? *1*
  • Have you been baptized inTO the Father's Name? (Was it pronounced over you?) *1*
  • Did you commit your whole life to Him?--Paul the Apostle said he had "betrothed" people to Christ.
  • Were you properly baptized IN the Name of Yahshua/Iesou/"Jesus"? FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS, "washing away your sins" as Ananias preached to Paul the Apostle to do? (And Paul says in 1Corinthians15 that the Gospel he received is the Gospel that saves; and elsewhere he says there is no other Gospel.)
  • And did you RECEIVE the Holy Spirit? Paul the Apostle indicates that it should be "manifest", apparent, obvious. He says in 1Corinthians12 that though each may receive various different "gifts", to ALL who receive the Holy Spirit is given "THE MANIFESTATION" of the Spirit. We read in Acts8 that people CAN believe and be baptized and STILL not receive the Holy Spirit as promised. So, did you receive the manifestation of the Spirit, which manifestation is given to all? If not, then it is not manifest that you received the Spirit. *2*

    ____

*1* YHWH or maybe YHVH are the English letters that represent the four letters used in Hebrew texts of the Old Testament for the Name of Elohim. ComPARE Joel2 : 32 WITH Acts22 : 16.

*2* People talk about "receiving" Christ. This has at least two different meanings in the NT: ONE is receiving Him for Who He is/what He did, that is, believing Him with the right attitude. This is used in various places, such as John13: 20. TWO--and this is critical--is receiving His Spirit into us as we receive the Holy Spirit. Many appear to have done ONE without doing TWO. Don't be deceived into believing you have received Christ in this way (TWO ) if you have not received the Holy Spirit, and thus the manifestation of the Spirit, which manifestation Scripture says is given to ALL who receive the Spirit. If you HAVE, then be FILLED with the Spirit, even when you are not around other believers. If you cannot be, there may be other problems. (It is possible to be in the Presence of the Spirit, and have His Presence affect people AS THOUGH they had the Spirit Himself, but yet they do not. **)

    Blog? BLOG?? What's a Blog? Aug 15, 2006 4:38 pm
    Mood: frustrated, 618 Views
This is straight from BigChurch's Help pages:

    What is a blog?

A blog is short for "weblog". According to Webopedia, a blog is a Web page that serves as a publicly accessible personal journal for an individual. Typically updated daily, blogs often reflect the personality of the author. A blog allows you to keep an online journal you share with others. You can add, edit, or delete posts and comments.

    .
    .

    Notice, PERSONAL journal.

I think many here on BC use it as almost a magazine article type thing; and others use it as more of a Forum type thing. Yeah well, I don't see a main link to "Forums", so that might make sense. I have NOT really put up any of my own Magazine articles--there IS a Magazine link--I don't know if it works the same way as Blogs with the same level of controls, like being able to delete posts, update the article, etc.

I started by using it sort of as a forum myself, then moved toward the other uses.

    .

    Notice, PUBLICLY-accessible.

Yep, even people who are NOT on BC can see your Blog.

Notice THIS: From what I can tell, BC claims a perpetual nonexclusive "right" to do whatever they want with our posts. To me, this means while I still have the right to my own writings, they too claim a nonexclusive right to them. While they might never use them, they or someone they transfer said rights to, could.

Some Blogs started here on BC I have wondered whether they are started by people who WANT us on BC to give them canon fodder to blast Christians at some future date, as BC is owned by or affiliated with a company that also runs ADULT Web sites like Adult Friend Finder, and possibly others.

    .

Anyway, lest someone wonder why I would put up "personal" stuff like adding a Health club to my bills, I thought I'd post this definition of Blog to make it clear.

Yep, I might post some personal things from time to time that nobody but folks who have become acquainted with me might care about, but this is the only place here on BC to do that, on a "Blog... a publicly accessible personal journal for an individual."

Mine might not be daily, or a journal that is like a diary, but I am making it at least a bit more personal than my early Blogs.

Hopefully I don't get too many "Who cares!" kinds of responses.
