WELCOME to my Blog!

Intro -- Embarking on a new journey

I am tired of acting "normal", but not being accepted anyway.

I might as well "play" the fool. And such I may be.

My Blogs from here on out will probably be a little--strange, lol.

Or a lot strange, my forte.

P S. (to my Blog's intro)

About me and my Blog posts, here and on others' Blogs:

I am silly. I am serious. I am Sillyerious! lol.

So my Blog posts are likely to be sillyerious, that is, silly-serious, which is either silly OR serious, or both silly and serious either at the same time, or jumping around between any of the above! LOL. (Asking is permitted! LOL.)

My earlier Blogs here were mostly serious, but now, I think I'll aim for strange.

I do not consider myself particularly religious or "Spiritual" in a mainstream sense.

For you, the reader, I hope that some of these are edifying, fun, instructive, "challenging", inspiring, and/or exhortative.

Oh, I may not check my Blogs for Comments, so if I don't respond to yours, don't feel bad.

And Hey, If you're Spiritual, PRAY for me in the Spirit! . Thanks!

Some starter Blogs of mine:
  • I've changed my handle name to wpx1. LOL!
  • I think I may be DONE with BigChurch Blogging ### For a while or mostly for good
  • Melchizedek, Where are you? (Melchisedec. The Kingdom of God, Theos, Elohim, YHWH.)

Btw, I made up the word sillyerious, circa 2006 (maybe misspelled then) and 1/2007 (its present form). It's mine, all mine I tell you. LOL.

LET THE STRANGENESS OF MINE BEGIN.

Vancouver, WA and areas near Oregon -- Skiing at Mt. Hood? Nov 6, 2009 9:33 pm

Vancouver, WA and areas near Oregon -- Skiing at Mt. Hood?

Skiers and Snowboarders in and near Washington State or Portland!

Anyone interested in going up this season to Mount Hood?

I like Meadows, Skibowl, and Timberline. And may go down there a couple of times this season. If I do, I'll likely want to stay 1-2+ nights.

    Let me know!

The God Who Wasn't There. Anyone seen it? Jun 28, 2009 6:36 pm

The God Who Wasn't There. Anyone seen it?

"The God Who Wasn't There" is supposedly a documentary about the origins of the Christian faith, with an emphasis on trying to shake the foundations of it. I am thinking of watching it.

However, my experience with supposed documentaries about Christianity is of their lack of DOCUMENTED evidence, and of their slant showing their skepticism. Most of them are filled with supposed pundits who state this or that opinion.

And these will sometimes make -- what to me are -- bogus and unsubstantiated claims against the origins and historicity of Christianity.

For example, the site TheGodMovie (related to this "documentary", I presume) says:

"The early founders of Christianity seem wholly unaware of the idea of a human Jesus".

Excuse me?? WHAT early founders are they talking about?

The Bible, which talks about several early founders -- The 12 Apostles (generally), even Saul of Tarsus, that is, Paul the Apostle, and so on, who saw Him alive after His Resurrection -- seems to me to speak quite clearly about a "Human" Jesus.

I don't suppose they've really considered the phrase, "The Son of MAN"?? LOL.

Or maybe they are thinking of the writings of what are generally called The Early Church Fathers?

But don't these speak about Him as being a real person? And some of them are supposed to be from the 1st and 2nd centuries. (The Apostle John was supposedly alive till he was 90-something, or maybe near 100? around the turn of the first century or into the second.) They do seem to in my reading of them.

Or maybe they prefer the writings from The Nag Hammadi library? (I haven't read much of these yet, but of what I have read, "Jesus"/Yashhua seemed like a real figure to me.) These writings are sometimes attributed to the Gnostics, and yes, some can sound pretty "ethereal" at times, but I doubt that there are many (any?) even in this collection, found in 1945 CE, that treat Yahshua as though they were "unaware" of Him being Human.

I guess I'll have to find out just which "founders" they claim were WHOLLY "unaware of the idea of a human Jesus"! LOL.

Seems like a pretty ridiculous claim. Already they've lost major credibility in my eyes, and I haven't even watched the thing yet. But I probably should, just so I know what new off-the-wall claims people will bring up in conversation.

    Anyone seen this? Comments?

    I plan to see it.

How do we keep track of Blog Posts now?

It used to be that I'd click Watch Post, and then the Watched Posts pages would highlight each Blog YELLOW if there were new posts since I lasted visited that Blog.

Well, there is STILL a Watched Posts page, but I think it no longer highlights yellow.

Also, it now only lists one page of posts.

    So--

How do you/we keep track of Blog Posts now?

    And Watched Posts?

    Thanks!
