What do you mean salvation? Feb 21, 2009 12:41 pm
332 Views
I know I'm sounding like Armstrong now, but there are differences. I was going over some posts in a bible group on here and there was one who would always say we don't really have free will, but he was mixing things that didn't belong in the subject.
For example he said something like Christ didn't die for those God would not save. And to go to that extreme there was a guy that defined salvation by works out of existence that even repentance was a work. Or some will say Jesus will save only who he knows would be saved.
Then there are those that might say those who are really saved would never lose their salvation.
Comparing for instance baptists and Nazarenes will illustrate a point here I'm trying to make:
Having differing views on salvation does not always reflect on how much a person might sin. Salvation means we realize that we are sinners and need a Saviour. Saved people listen to the Spirit and walk by the Spirit.
I don't think there are any situations that God would allow us in that would overcome our will to do good. Some can run from situations but just as the greatest among us should be our servants, the greatest among us are the ones who may not be as vulnerable to different temptations as others.
So as Paul said do we sin that grace may abound? No, we shouldn't use our liberty to justify sin. With God nothing is impossible but a few are chosen.

I'm there are nigerians scammers around...is gossip over rated Feb 17, 2009 6:42 pm

I believe so. Words are misplaced and not used where there are suppose to. Funny how it's not gossip when you say something good about someone, even if it was a lie or not true. So the question is why people don't use english the correct way. I think there are nigerian scammers around. Why are people afraid to expose something they distrust even a little. It's time to speak up. I think nigerians scammers are writing me through this site.

The U.S. Constitution has failed. Jan 26, 2009 1:14 pm

The office of the Presidency has too much power. The Supreme Court Justices that the President's select also indirectly supports the tyranny of the courts. I think it's time for Christians to unite and separate from the Union that is run from the dictatorship from Washington. I hearby proclaim the succession of states from the Union. All states who are against abortion should start separating from the U.S. federal govt to make that page in history where liberals and foreign interest know that we make our faith real and serve the the one true God, the God of Israel by faith alone. The church are Abraham's seed too and God will bless those who bless the church. Israel is not by race as Paul said in Romans. The state of Israel are the enemies of faith as Paul also so. The false religion that predominates in the middle east must also be stopped. Long live our king.

God did not become a man. Jesus is the Son of the living God. Jan 16, 2009 7:28 am

n my view GOD DO DID NOT BECOME A MAN.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
To say God became a man is a twist of the meaning when it says 'the Word became flesh'. The WORD (logos) is distinguished as the 'Word' which was with God. Notice the passage does not say God was made flesh, but logic would say since the WORD was God, that God was made flesh.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
I put a line there to separate the thought because this is where theologians and those brainwashed by the experts miss the intent of the meaning. They may first say I'm contradicting myself because in 1st Timothy chapter 3 verse 16 it states in part that God was manifested in the flesh.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
However that is where logic and intent plus meaning become in a sort of war with each other. This is where people's brains are weak or unable to break their limited ability to understand. First the way it is said in english is not the exact way it is said in the original tongue where the exact perfect intent was known, but there is no need to make your own bible. The meaning is there but besides looking at other passages as everyone does, one has to the read the passage in context and connect it's meaning to other associated passages with standards that make the intent of the passage a 100 percent clear.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
The first major problem Orthodox Christians make is how they use the word 'God'. All they have to do is see Exodus chapter 3 how it clearly states that angel appeared to Moses, and there is no doubt it says an angel appeared to Mose in a burning bush. So why from the bush that was burning did it say an angel appeared and not God since right afterwards it says God is talking to Moses.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So God in that passage is the voice Moses heard, but there was only an angel there. God therefore is that which comes from the Father such as the Holy Spirit and in Mose's case the angel. The angels send the messages of God and therefore the angels represent God. God spoke through the angel. There is no doubt that angels have been sent to prophets to convey God's messages.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The New Testament proves my case and what a better way to prove my case with the first verse of the book of Hebrews. Verse 1 states 'GOD, who at various times and different ways spoke in times past to the fathers by the prophets,' God spoke in times past to his people. God said things in the past as God said things when he was creating. God created all things by Jesus Christ as Paul said too. It was a mystery as Paul stated too.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Verse 2 of Hebrews states 'has in these last days spoken to us by His Son...' In this way was God manifested in the flesh. It doesn't mean Jesus is divine because when God spoke before he spoke through the angels. This time God was with Christ and manifested Himself through Christ. It doesn't mean Christ is divine or Christ is God. Jesus only can be called God when we realize Christ is conveying the message that God told him to say. Three times in John chapter 8 Jesus says he spoke those things he HEARD from God. Therefore when Jesus says "I am' Christ is just saying what God told him to say.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In Hebrews chapter 1 verse 5 Jesus is said to have a name more better than the angels which means Jesus can't be compared to God if Christ is just more better than angels. Many times Jesus talked about the Father, and it is the Father who is literally God. John wrote two times in the new testament that no man has seen God at anytime, and Peter said if one doesn't believe Christ came in the flesh, he is an antichrist.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jesus is fully man only and was much better than the angels wich means that he represented God more better since he and the Father were one. He who has seen Christ has seen the Father, and this was in the context of the miracles God did through Jesus. That only makes Jesus the Son of God, and make Christ God only through a messenger sense.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
But Trinitarians twist everything to make Jesus God in a literal sense when the New Testament probably states Jesus is the Son of God a 100 times to when it says Christ was God. The passages where Christ is said to be divine in some way is only in the context that God is manifesting his Spirit through Christ. Hebrews chapter 1 verse 8 doesn't call Christ God. The passage there is a cited passage to what the scripture says, so Paul is just quoting God. It never is stating there Christ is God because it is logical that when using a citation not all the reference passage has to deal with the subject. Notice the end of verse 8 where only in the end of the verse does it mention the Son. Therefore Peter was right when he correctly identified Christ and it only took about 10 seconds, and already Jesus said the Father revealed it to him. No where in Peter's response does it mention Trinity or that Jesus is God. In one verse the controversy of who was Christ ends and the debate becomes useless when one verse in Matthew 16:16 puts the final true identity of who Christ was.

lol,

No, I didn't. I think we get the wrong idea that we have to have fun or we just can't be bored. If people valued purpose and faith many good things would be exciting. It never has to be about meeting people or seeing places. To place value on temporary things is a sign of slavery and dependence. We would be truly happy when we know God is on our side. All things work together for good to them who love God, and are called according to his purpose. ROMANS
