The Jesus Revolution Oct 1, 2009 7:02 pm

I'm not going to develop this fully....rather, let or invite each of you to contribute a part....

Something so significant happened about 2000 years ago that time both from that event forward and from that event back into history, has been measured from it. Just look at any coin in your pocket and any calendar worldwide and you can easily see it.

This world we live in, as bad as it can be, is a far cry from what was before the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. One aspect of that REVOLUTION is in how he taught to deal with our enemies....

I'll let that be the starting point of a list we can all create to take a look at this REVOLUTION...

Thanks for being a part....

IF....GERONIMO....Were HERE TODAY...

HE WOULDN'T BE FIGHTING HIS BATTLES WITH BOWS AND ARROWS...

Geronimo was the last of the conquered so called guerilla bands in the United States. He evaded capture
for 25 years after being attacked and sought out mercilessly by whites from both Mexico and the US.
His counter raiding began when he returned one time to find his wife, mother, and three young children slaughtered.
At this point no one had ever been sought after with such tenacity by the US government as Geronimo with the
US having devoted one fourth of its entire resources to that effort.
His captures were followed by escapes. He would be known to be somewhere and then disappear without a
trace on occasions.

But this note is not to relive history.
Geronimo did not go looking to make enemies....they originally came to him...and continued to do so.

Some of the things documented about him reveal some of his own quotes from different times
of his life:

"I was warmed by the sun, rocked by the winds and sheltered by the trees as other Indian babes. I was living peaceably when people began to speak bad of me. Now I can eat well, sleep well and be glad. I can go everywhere with a good feeling.

The soldiers never explained to the government when an Indian was wronged, but reported the misdeeds of the Indians. We took an oath not to do any wrong to each other or to scheme against each other.

I cannot think that we are useless or God would not have created us. There is one God looking down on us all. We are all the children of one God. The sun, the darkness, the winds are all listening to what we have to say.

When a child, my mother taught me to kneel and pray to Usen for strength, health, wisdom and protection. Sometimes we prayed in silence, sometimes each one prayed aloud; sometimes an aged person prayed for all of us... and to Usen.

I was born on the prairies where the wind blew free and there was nothing to break the light of the sun. I was born where there were no enclosures."

Geronimo, to succeed for so long, in dealing with such massive opponents had to have something most do not.
And that is the ability to recognize not only WHO his opponent was.....But their attributes. He also had to
know the nature of HIS weapons and defenses and theirs as well.

If we only see an Adversary as an Adversary, then we are not only going to lose, but we will
cause collateral damage as well. Our enemy is not visible but only 'using' others of our own
who are visible and vocal as well.
If we don't look beyond the surface we will never see the true enemy pursuing us....and yes, we
are being pursued.

Come and listen my friends, ......oh, come listen for a while...
I'll tell you some little stories....that just....maybe make you smile...
and I can tell you some stories....that will make ...your tears flow...
hey, it's one thing to wonder.. and a.....nother to know...
Come and listen my friends
oh, come listen awhile...

There was a man upon a bridge.... with a little note in his hand...
He found himself so lonely with no friend.... in his land...
And He thought for a little ..while he sailed upon his flight...
No one knew the tears he cried....while he struggled through the night...
Come and listen, my friends
hey friends, come listen awhile...

And there was girl walking aimless..... in the streets of her town
with no place to lay her head....when the sun was going down
And there was a child barely walking .....holding close to her momma's side....
o, she had no way of knowing ...how the drugs made her daddy die
Come and listen, my friends
oh friends, come listen awhile...

You can seek a life that's holy.... or get caught up in some spell
One way's to Heaven, friend and a...nother's to Hell....
Oh, it's a sad ..sad ole world we live in....so full of every pain...
but you know, life... ain't worth livin' if it's.....lived out in vain....
Come and listen, my friends
oh oh oh friend, come listen awhile...

Now, if there's a God up beyond the heavens....He is bound to know our names...
One day we may come to see.....how He sought us just the same...
so, He might just tell a little birdie...to take up his wings and fly his flights...
and send a little bit of comfort here...to help us through our nights
Come and listen, my friends
oh oh friends, come listen awhile...

Now then there a sky as big as ever....with God's own writing upon His wall...
and He's telling us how He is there...and He's not wanting us to fall...
So, when you find yourself in trouble...hey, your needing a helping hand...
Just reach a little further, children....and help out your fellow man...
Come and listen, my friends...
oh, come and listen awhile...

Hot Banana #1
beale street blues

It's a shame....we don't have no....remembrance....any more...
It's a shame...we don't come here....like before..
It's like a darkness...in the sky....
We don't have no alibi...
It's a shame...
we don't have no...
remembrance..
anymore....

You know that evil men can care...
about the way you wear you hair....
They can even say they love your sexy eyes...!!
They can give you their storebought clothes...
While they spin their wind that blows...
They can even spin the way they spin their lies...!!

o, It's a shame....we don't have no....remembrance....any more...
It's a shame...we don't come here....like before..
It's like a darkness...in the sky....
We don't have no alibi...
It's a shame...
we don't have no...
remembrance..
anymore....

You know that evil men can stare...
Then let their puzzle become their dare...
They can even say they've come to lead you home...!!
They can tell you the things you want...
and ease your path of the things you don't...
Then come what may they've come to lead you on...!!

It's a shame....we don't have no....remembrance....any more...
It's a shame...we don't come here....like before..
It's like a darkness...in the sky....
We don't have no alibi...
It's a shame...
we don't have no...
remembrance..
anymore....

I've been here about 10 months. In that time it seems that I have seen more leave than stay. I'm thinking the problem must have been me....

Now, I have seen some people mention that BC was a lot better at one time....
And some say that it has always been like this....

So, if there are any left who remember it as "better" in those "good old days" let's hear about it and how and why and why not...and so on...

TOP TEN REASONS YENDOR's Picture Is Fake***

1) No banana would survive long enough to take a picture.

2) There are no full sacks of McDonals's fries...or empty ones either.

3) There are no goats making themselves at home in the background.

4) There are no sheep either.

5) The words and grammar in the post are near perfect...where there is smoke there is fire...

6) There are no girls or women on each arm.

7) That is a professional photograph. No professional would touch this subject with a ten foot pole or banana.

8... The guy is holding the toothbrush by the correct end.

9...A friend of friend of a little bird's third cousin' brother in law's youngest niece might have told me...

10....rats...Hey Yendor....can I borrow one more reason...????

Yendor has been pulling this stunt since the days of the CB craze....except back then he wanted every one to say "10-4 Good Buddy" with a mouthful of banana while he'd watch the view level on the squelch meter.

***maybe, probably, kind of, does 1% certain count..

Sometimes War....it is hard to understand...maybe impossible.
But after it is all said and done....we can look back and try to
grasp some little bit of wisdom. Maybe when a parent or a country sends its youth off to war....with the obvious real risk of them paying the ultimate cost...then we can get a glimpse...and only a glimpse of God knowing the certainty of His Son dying on the cross.

Recorded by Ricky Skaggs
(Written by Walt Wilkins)

All night I've wrestled Jacob's angels
And prayed with Matthew, Luke and John
Struggling to find the words you face the task
That comes upon the blood red dawn.
I've buried men before their time
Of alcohol and blackened lung
But how to bury seven of these
Appalachian miners sons.
Who stormed the beaches wave on wave,
And sailed home to these rocky graves
In family plots that bared their names.

Tomorrow I'll walk up, seven hillsides
Tremble before my flock on seven hillsides
Seven sorrows, seven sons, seven mothers and every one
Will turn to me for the word of God, what does this mean?
And there I'll stand good book in hand,
A shepherd to these precious lambs
What will I say, what will I say, what can I say?

To tell the truth I'd never thought much
About the will of God before.
Called to preach at seventeen
I was in love with fiery words and not much more.
The time has come to keep the faith
For others shattered by their loss.
Remind them of the loving God
Whose son like theirs paid the cost.
To save a sad and wicked world
Through sacrifice our love is heard
And pray that I believe those words.

Tomorrow I'll walk up, seven hillsides
Tremble before my flock on seven hillsides
Seven sorrows, seven sons, seven mothers and every one
Will turn to me for the word of God, what does this mean?...
And there I'll stand good book in hand,
A shepherd to these precious lambs
What will I say, what will I say, what can I say?
