Safe Harbor

"Safe Harbor" - it is a nautical term by the way and I just happen to be an ex-Navy girl - "is a place to come to when you've been damaged or beaten by the storms of life - it's a place of rest, refuge, and restoration - for a time - to receive healing or repair damages, and rest - in the Father's arms - no camping out here indefinitely - it will soon be time to get back out there and be about the Father's business. Yes, you can minister broken but how much more and better can you serve if you are restored and whole?"

"What a blessing was that stillness as He brought them safely into harbor." Psalms 107:30 NLT

It's no mystery
Not really

Of love -
Love that always has been
And always will be there

Love that never leaves
Nor forsakes
No matter what

Always - always
Through all eternity
Love
Great love
Love abounding
Love everlasting

It's there for you to receive
It's there
Like a precious gift
Just open it
Open it
Open it

It's yours - for the taking
Just receive it

it may become infected. Spiritual wounds are no different -
jealousy, anger, bitterness are a result."

Believers are living stones ... Nov 14, 2009 8:30 am
Mood: contemplative, 112 Views
The below excerpts are from a book I'm in process of reading called "Don't Waste Your Sorrows" by Paul E. Billheimer - excellent book - I recommend it!!

"A. N. Hodgkin, in 'Christ in All the Scriptures', says, "All true believers in all ages are the living stones in that heavenly Temple, and God is preparing them in His quarry down here, amid the noise and tumult of earth, each for his place in His Temple above. Rugged and shapeless are the stones to begin with; no wonder that the blows of the hammer fall heavily, that the chisel is sharp, and the polishing severe before the stones are ready."

At present we are not what we should be, neither are we what we shall be. But God does not work without a pattern or design. He knows what He is doing." (page 82)

"Hodgkin points out that when they are removed from the quarry, the stones are rugged and shapeless. Quarry stones are insensitive but the "living stones" with which God is working are not. This means that God cannot shape without pain. Where there is no pain, no shaping is achieved. The tools He must use are sharp and abrasive. Quarry stones cannot resist but the "living stones" may. When they do, their sorrow and pain is wasted. ... If character is God's supreme aim in the universe and if character cannot be developed without pain, does this not illuminate the passage: "Whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth"? (Heb 12:6). Maybe God just cannot get that special stones He needs for a particular place any other way. If so, is He to be denied, and are the persons sorrows wasted if he eventually qualifies for his unique place in that ethereal structure?" (page 83)

Just something for you to chew on a bit. I may be adding other excerpts from this book in later posts. Blessings!!

Do all things ... Nov 13, 2009 2:33 pm

Philippians 2 - King James Version

"14 Do all things without murmurings and disputings:

15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as light in the world;

16 Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain."

New Living Translation

"14 In everything you do, stay away from complaining and arguing,

15 so that no one can speak a word of blame against you. You are to live clean, innocent lives as children of God in a dark world full of crooked and perverse people. Let your lives shine brightly before them.

16 Hold tightly to the word of life, so that when Christ returns, I will be proud that I did not lose the race and that my work was not useless."

I think the Word speaks for itself here!! Blessings!!

Update on virus post from 3 Nov ... Nov 11, 2009 7:31 pm
Mood: lazy, 185 Views
I haven't had any more trouble with the virus I spoke of on a Nove 3rd post here - but I've known a couple of folks who have had trouble - and they told me they got it fixed by going to malwaredottie and the comword right after the dottie. It has a free download there (don't get the one you pay for) that works well with this type of virus. I haven't tried it myself but my step-son in law and his dad both verified that it worked well on their virus problems. So if you happen to get it try this software download.

Blessings everyone!!

Our words are ... Nov 9, 2009 11:24 am
Mood: contemplative, 218 Views
"Our words are a by-product of our meditations - whatever is brooding in our hearts will eventually ascend to our lips. If we have unforgiveness prowling within, our conversations will be barbed with negative comments . . . if harboring bitterness - it will slice through our speech . . . we cannot fix our words without first fixing our heart."

How deep is God's love for you ... Nov 9, 2009 11:15 am
Mood: content, 201 Views
A repost of mine from 2007:

I know most of you have heard about ‘Agape’ love or the divine love of God towards man which involves God doing what He knows is best for man and not necessarily what man desires.

Hm-m-m!! That will make you think – huh? I’ve often wondered of late – how deep is God’s love towards me? And the only answer I came up with was “I don’t know – how deep?” which isn’t really an answer at all but another question – a question that caused me to do some digging.

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Eph 3:18-19 (NLT) “May your roots go down deep into the soil of God’s marvelous love. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His love really is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is so great you will never fully understand it. Then you will be filled with the fullness of life and power that comes from God.”

I am here to tell you from personal experience that God’s love contains everything you need – it will sustain you – it brings provision and life – both spiritual and physical – it brings healing and freedom – and peace and comfort in the midst of a storm and so much more than this post could ever contain.

So again I ask you – how deep is God’s love for you? I think it’s an intensely personal question – I think each person would give a different answer based on their personal experience of God’s love in their life. So think about it – how would you answer this question? Then consider sharing that experience with someone – you never know how it will affect their life - someone is waiting for you to tell them about God’s love.

Blessings to all!!
