Safe Harbor

"Safe Harbor" - it is a nautical term by the way and I just happen to be an ex-Navy girl - "is a place to come to when you've been damaged or beaten by the storms of life - it's a place of rest, refuge, and restoration - for a time - to receive healing or repair damages, and rest - in the Father's arms - no camping out here indefinitely - it will soon be time to get back out there and be about the Father's business. Yes, you can minister broken but how much more and better can you serve if you are restored and whole?"

"What a blessing was that stillness as He brought them safely into harbor." Psalms 107:30 NLT

Wedding pic & update ... Sep 27, 2009 6:50 am
Mood: joyful, 875 Views

Well howdee everyone - I'm typing this from Boulder City, Nevada - just 20 miles south of Las Vegas - it's a beautiful cool morning right now but was 105 yesterday when we pulled into this very nice RV park. Had a great time visiting Mt Rushmore in South Dakota and Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming is awesome beyond words - saw herds of elk and buffalo and just great beauty everywhere - I could live there - except in the winter - it was 19 degrees one nite there - brrr. The Grand Tetons were also great - and it's just beautiful everywhere we go - Idah and Utah were awesome too. We've traveled over 3000 miles now. Plan to attend church this morning and go to Hoover Dam this afternoon - we were planning to do a little golfing but Hugh thinks it might be too hot to do that - so we will see - I plan to spend $10 at the slots in Las Vegas - just to say I did it. And we want to watch the lazer show one nite and take in a show and just do some relaxing and resting before we move on to the Grand Canyon next Wednesday. After that we will be spending a little time in Phoenix - visiting my baby sis and neice and also 2 aunts and an uncle before we move on to Tombstone.

Things are going good - making adjustments as they come up - having a lot of Bible studies and prayers.

Don't know when I will have time to get on again. Haven't had time to read any blog posts - sure hope you all are behaving yourselves!!

Blessings to all!!

Wedding update and a praise report ... Sep 14, 2009 5:52 pm
Mood: tired, 911 Views
It feels good to Mrs. Hugh - don't think the full reality of it has sunk in yet - it's strange to have a guy saying "hey wifey" now - but the wedding was wonderful - short and sweet - and the reception was a lot of fun - we had 32 friends and family members to join us - twice as many as we first expected - but there was lots of good fun and laughter and praising the Lord - a memorable day. So tomorrow it's off to our honeymoon camping trip out west - don't know how much computer time I will have on the road but you all take care and take care of each other while I'm gone - I will be back - with pics.

I have no way to download wedding pics at the time - but eventually I will have some out.

Also for all of those who prayed for my now brother-in-law Wayne - he did very well in surgery today - they only had to take out 20% of one kidney - and the cancer had not spread - he will be home in 2-3 days - so thanx for your prayers for him and PRAISE THE LORD!!

Talk to you soon!!

Always remember ... Sep 12, 2009 12:19 pm
Mood: cheerful, 926 Views
Always remember to forget
The things that made you sad
But never forget to remember
The things that made you glad.

Always remember to forget
The friends that proved untrue.
But dont forget to remember
Those that have stuck by you.

Always remember to forget
The troubles that have passed away.
But never forget to remember
The blessings that come each day.

1 day and a wakeup now ... Sep 11, 2009 2:54 pm
Mood: ecstatic, 1056 Views
I'm feeling joyful - me and my future sister-in-laws decorated the fellowship hall for our reception this morning - it is in yellows and lots of crystal dishes and candle pieces in it - not fancy but nice - we had a ball doing that - the pastor is due here in about an hour to discuss vows and such - tomorrow I do my nails and pick up flowers - a single red rose for me and Anita (Hugh's daughter) and Elizabeth (Hugh's granddaughter)- who are standing up with me. The camping trailer is packed except for a few last minute things. I'm ready to be Mrs. Hugh. Monday Hugh and I will leave early to go to the hospital to be with his sister while her husband Wayne is having kidney surgery (please pray) and then Tuesday morning we plan to head towards Mt Rushmore and then Yellowstone Park for a few days and then towards Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon and Phoenix and El Paso.

So thanx for all your good wishes and prayers - and your continued prayers - you all have been a blessing to me more than you know.

And if anyone reading this doesn't know - I met Hugh here on BC almost Dec 2006 - so it's possible to meet someone decent and Godly here and become married. There are 3 BC couples getting married this month - Beth & Jim on the 12th - me & Hugh on the 13th - Terrie & Alan on the 27th and also Stevie (Chapscott) is remarrying his wife and mother of his 4 children on the 29th. So pray for all of us - pretty please. Lots going on. Don't give up hope - God is with us!! Blessings!!
