This is a stagecoach in Tombstone, AZ - you know the place - where Wyatte Earp and Doc Holliday had the shootout at OK Corral - in the 1880's - quite an interesting place - full of history - we visited the courtyard with the hanging gallows - had lunch at Big Nosed Kate's Saloon (girlfriend of Doc Holiday) - we took a stagecoach ride and saw some re-enactments of gunfights and little museums and such - it was a great time!!

Cherokee legend ...

Do you know the legend of the Cherokee Indian youth's rite of Passage? His father takes him into the forest, blindfolds him, and leaves him alone. He is required to sit on a stump the whole night and not remove the blindfold until the rays of the morning sun shine through it.He cannot cry out for help to anyone.Once he survives the night, he is a MAN.He cannot tell the other boys of this experience, because each lad must come into manhood on his own..The boy is naturally terrified..He can hear all kinds of noises Wild beasts must surely be all around him.Maybe even some human might do him harm. The wind blew the grass and earth, and shook his stump, but he sat stoically, never removing the blindfold. It would be the only way he could become a man! Finally, after a horrific night the sun appeared and he removed his blindfold. It was then that he discovered his father sitting on the stump next to him.He had been at watch the entire night, protecting his son from harm. We, too, are never alone.Even when we don't know it, God is watching over us, sitting on the stump beside us.When trouble comes, all we have to do is reach out to Him.If you liked this story, pass it on..If not, you took off your blindfold before dawn. Moral of the story: Just because you can't see God, doesn't mean He is not there.. 'For we walk by faith, not by sight.'

When you are the neediest, He is the most sufficient. When you are completely helpless, He is the most helpful. When you feel totally dependent, He is absolutely dependable. When you are the weakest, He is the most able. When you are the most alone, He is intimately present. When you feel the least, He is the greatest. When you feel the most useless, He is preparing you. When it is the darkest, He is the only Light you need. When you feel the least secure, He is your Rock and Fortress. When you are the most humble, He is most gracious.

About worshipping God ...

Written by Max Lucado.
About worshipping God:
Worship is the "thank you" that refuses to be silent.
We have tried to make a science out of worship. We can't do that. We can't do that any more than we can "sell love" or "negotiate peace".
Worship is a voluntary act of gratitude offered by the saved to the Savior, by the healed to the Healer, and b the delivered to the Deliverer.
We remember all that you have done for us Father. We remember your goodness to us in the past. We remember your closeness in the present. We remember your power for the future. We worship you.
Have you praised Him today - have you worshipped Him today???

First - please pray for Hugh's 5 yr old great nephew Zach - he was in the hospital today - they say his blood plateletes are very very low - don't understand all that but please say prayers for his improvement - our God is a BIG God. Thanx in advance.
Just got back to Hugh's home this afternoon after 5 weeks on the road - saw so many beautiful things - after the Grand Canyon we went to Flagstaff to meet my baby sis and got to see Jupiter throught the Worlds largest telescope at Lowell Observatory - then visited aunts and uncles in Phoenix and had a wonderful time in Tombstone, AZ (even road a stagecoach) and visited friends in El Paso and got to see the Alamo and attend John Hagee's church in San Antonio TX and we've been gone over 5 weeks and it's good to be home - can't post pics here from Hugh's computer but will be at my house next week and will post more - hope you all have been behaving - I was without wifi connections so couldn't keep in contact - but I'm back now - blessings to all!!

My sweetheart and I are doing a Bible study in 1 Corinthians and we came across this verse in Chapter 15 verse 10 "But by the grace of God I am what I am." Wow - that just struck me - God's grace is the reason I am even alive at this moment - His grace is why I have eternal life with Him - His grace is why I'm healed and delivered - it's why I'm as sane as I am - it's why I breathe and can tell others about His awesome love - it's why I have my wonderful husband now and why I'm getting to travel around the US looking at and experiencing so many of His beautiful scenic wonders in this country - His grace is why I can even enjoy these wonders - it's why I have His peace and His joy that passes all understanding - especially in stormy times - you know I could go on and on - and so could you probably - His grace is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO amazing. So think about it folks - how is and has His grace affected your life????
Hallelujah - makes me want to praise Him some more - how about you??
Blessings!!
PS - couldn't help but add another beautiful Grand Canyon photo today - if you want to see it enlarged (along with my other photos) please go to my blog - for some reason they are much larger there and it's easier to see the details.

Las Vegas ...

This is old downtown Las Vegas - we gambled a bit in the Fremont Hotel and Casino - I lost $5 on the slots - that was my limit - now I can say "been there - done that" - we also had a wonderful prime rib dinner for $8.99 at Tony Roma's in The Fremont. And we saw the night laser lite show - it was great - and I loved a sax player/singer that sang out in the square - he was really good - and of course for me people watching was my fav activity here. We spent a little time on the strip - the new part of Las Vegas casinos - played a little Keno in the Flamingo Casino - lost another $5 there - but did win $1 - my lucky day huh??? It was an interesting place to say the least.
Blessings everyone!!

Me & Hugh at the Grand Canyon yesterday - we took a train in from Williams, AZ and their was a train robbery and a shootout and cowboy singers entertaining us - it was great fun and the bus tour was awesome - the Grand Canyon truly is a wonder - one of God's wonders - handcrafted especially by him. It's breathtaking. Today is a rest day and tomorrow I will meeting my little sis and her family in Flagstaff - I'm excited - then onto Phoenix this Sunday to meet with 2 of my aunts and 1 uncle and their spouses - they are cooking - yum!! Then on Tuesday we will be heading to Tombstone and it just worked out that Corrie's (overcaffinated) dad owns an RV park there and we will be staying there about 3 days - sooooooooo...... having a great time as you can see.
