"Safe Harbor" - it is a nautical term by the way and I just happen to be an ex-Navy girl - "is a place to come to when you've been damaged or beaten by the storms of life - it's a place of rest, refuge, and restoration - for a time - to receive healing or repair damages, and rest - in the Father's arms - no camping out here indefinitely - it will soon be time to get back out there and be about the Father's business. Yes, you can minister broken but how much more and better can you serve if you are restored and whole?"

Heavenly Father - I simply adore You - and praise You - for You are worthy of every praise and every honor - You are the reason I have breath in my body - You are the reason I have food on the table and my bills paid - You are the reason for my good health and a roof over my head - and family and friends. Thank You Lord for touching each one who reads this - put a praise in their heart Lord - touch each need Lord - only as You know how to do - I lift these folks up to You - grant them the desires of the hearts as well. Take away sadness and depression and replace them with peace and love and joy. Heal broken hearts and broken bodies and broken homes. Mold and shape them Lord for Your Kingdom. Americans in Israel Cast Their Votes

Hundreds of US expatriates voted last night in Jerusalem for next week's US presidential elections.

The event, which was organized by a private, nonpartisan organization, Vote From Israel, and was held at the OU Israel Center, aimed to facilitate voting for Americans living in Israel who were either uninformed about how to vote or otherwise unmotivated to cast their ballots in time for the November 4 elections.

"This is so convenient I can't believe it," said Jill Stubbs, 33, a native of Santa Barbara, California, and a teacher at the capital's Anglican School. Stubbs said she was alerted to the event by an advertisement in The Jerusalem Post, which she produced from her purse neatly cut out. "Living over here gives you much more concern about what is happening in the world," she said.

Many in the largely religious crowd, which surpassed 500 in the first two hours of the five-hour event, said they were voting for Republican nominee John McCain, in no small part due to his unequivocal support for the State of Israel, something they felt was lacking in his opponent, Democrat Barack Obama.

"Obama is not very pro-Israel and Israel is very important to me, otherwise I wouldn't be here," said Shuli Atkin from Skokie, Illinois, near Chicago, who is studying at a seminary in Jerusalem. "Hopefully we'll make a difference," she said.

News relating to Obama's position on Israel which is posted on several websites this morning made last night's event all the more significant.
National security and anti-terrorism issues, which are so front and center in Israeli daily life, make Senator McCain the clear favorite among Israelis, who are very worried about what they perceive as Obama's position of "appeasement" towards dictators like Ahmadinejad.

Israelis who are not dual citizens and have no vote in the US election stress that their concerns are as much about the future of America as they are about the future of Israel, for the two countries are deeply connected.
The ballots are enroute to the United States this morning via FED EX to meet approaching deadlines.
