"Safe Harbor" - it is a nautical term by the way and I just happen to be an ex-Navy girl - "is a place to come to when you've been damaged or beaten by the storms of life - it's a place of rest, refuge, and restoration - for a time - to receive healing or repair damages, and rest - in the Father's arms - no camping out here indefinitely - it will soon be time to get back out there and be about the Father's business. Yes, you can minister broken but how much more and better can you serve if you are restored and whole?"

An excerpt from David Wilkerson's "The Danger of Leaning to Your Own Understanding" article.

"Often, when God speaks to us, His word to us is so wonderful, unbelievable an life-saving that we can't take it all in!! So our flesh - our human understanding - rises up and takes on a voice. Instead of simply resting and trusting in His word, we begin to lean on our own thinking. We wonder, "how could this ever come to pass? It would be humanly impossible!" Suddenly, we have built parameters for God - we hedge Him in on all sides!

Beloved, our human understanding always limits God! God told the elderly Sarah she would have a child and become the mother of many nations. What an incredible, glorious word! But Sarah's human understanding quickly rose up and said: "Me, a mother at 100? Why, my womb is dead. My husband is and old man. It's impossible!" She laughed at the thought.

Has God ever told you something which seemed that impossible? Did you believe Him, trusting the outcome to His time and way? Or did you scoff at the idea, leaning on your own understanding and looking at circumstances rather than trusting in His Word?"
