Safe Harbor

"Safe Harbor" - it is a nautical term by the way and I just happen to be an ex-Navy girl - "is a place to come to when you've been damaged or beaten by the storms of life - it's a place of rest, refuge, and restoration - for a time - to receive healing or repair damages, and rest - in the Father's arms - no camping out here indefinitely - it will soon be time to get back out there and be about the Father's business. Yes, you can minister broken but how much more and better can you serve if you are restored and whole?"

"What a blessing was that stillness as He brought them safely into harbor." Psalms 107:30 NLT

Be Still ... Jul 1, 2006 11:54 am

I recently did a word study on the words "be still" and would like to share it with you all.

BE - to have existence, truth or actuality (Doubleday Dictionary)
exist, live, occur, happen, last, continue, remain, stay, persist (Random House Thesaurus)

STILL - Greek - phimo (Strong's #5392) to muzzle, as an ox (1 Cor 9:9, 1Tim 5:1; Figuratively to stop the mouth in order to silence (Matt 22:34, 1 Peter 2:15), to be silenced, speechless (Matt 22:12; Used by Christ in commanding an evil spirit not to speak through the demoniac (Mark 1:25, Luke 4:35), the raging sea to be still (Mark 4:39). Syn. - to keep silence, to be silent. Ant. - to speak.

Greek - prosmeno (Strong's #4357) - to, with, and remain. To stay at a place (Acts 18:18, 1 Tim 1:3), to remain or to continue with (Matt 15:32, Mark 8:2). In a spiritual sense, to adhere to (Acts 11:23). To continue or persevere (1 Tim 5:5). Syn. - to tarry, to stay around, await, wait for, to continue in, remain constant. (The Complete Word Study)

Other words for still - being without movement, motionless, free from disturbance or agitation, making no sound, silent, absence of sound or noise, peace, tranquil, serenity, undisturbed, quiet, without motion, calm, untroubled, undisturbed, lay to rest, rest (various sources)

Opposites of still - clamor, bustling, active, moving, disturbed, agitated, restless, noisy, loud, babbling, turmoil, commotion, agitate, restless, turbulent, anxious (various sources)

Scriptures:

Psalm 4:4 "Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart and BE STILL. Selah."

Psalm 46:10 "BE STILL, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth."

Isaiah 23:2 "BE STILL, ye inhabitants of the isle, though whom the merchants of Zidon, that pass over the sea, have replenished."

Jeremiah 47:6 "O thou sword of the Lord, how long will it be ere thou be quiet? put up thyself into thy scabbard, rest, and BE STILL."

Mark 4:39 "And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, BE STILL. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

And would like you to think about this statement "it's a state of being - not doing" which is from a song called "Marinating" by Todd Bentley.

Yes, there will be more - just wanted you to think about these things for awhile. We will be talking about rest and rest in Him soon. Blessings to you!

Do I dare to dream? Jun 30, 2006 4:06 pm

Written 5-12-97

Do I dare to dream, do I, do I??
So many of my dreams have been shattered to pieces –
lost – blown away in the wind – like falling leaves
in a storm – to pile up in some lone place to decay.
Never again to be united with the tree from whence
it fell. So many years, my dreams were the
dreams others had placed in my head – never my own,
never my own, never my own.
What happens to the crushed dreams of a child?
Dreams the enemy stole so many years ago?
The great deceiver crept in one dreary night and
snatched them right out of my spirit while in slumber.
So many years I didn’t even realize they were gone.
Does Jesus hold them in the palm of His mighty hand –
just waiting for the right moment in time to hand them back to you?
You mean there is a possibility that I can dream again?
My dreams – the one’s God planted in my heart as a child?
“Nothing is impossible with God.”
But I’m afraid!
“Fear not my child.”
But I can’t stand any more broken hearts!
“I will heal the broken in heart.”
You mean I can love again?
“I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
But I can’t even remember some of my dreams!!
“I’ll bring them to your remembrance.”
But. . .
“I didn’t give you a spirit of fear but of power and love and a sound mind.”
But Lord . . . Yes, I remember you telling me you loved me as much as the sky is blue!
Yes, Lord I’m learning to trust you?
Yes, - I know You wouldn’t give me a scorpion!
Yes, - I know You’ve numbered all the hairs on my head!
And my name is written in the palm of Your hand!
Yes – you knew me before I was even born!
But how can You love me Lord – I was such a dirty child?
Yes – I know You shed your blood for me – just for me!
But why Lord? How can You love me
when I’ve turned my back on You so many times?
I’ve been such a bad child – shouldn’t I be punished instead?
Yes, Lord you forgave me. I asked You to forget my sins –
And You forgot them as far as the East is from the West.

Thank you Lord for loving me unconditionally
Thank you for forgiving me
Thank you for restoring my dreams.

What would I do if it wasn't for You?
Where would I be if You hadn't saved me?
I would be nowhere
I would be nothing
I would be shoveling coal in hell for eternity
That's where I would be!!

It's no mystery
Not really

Of love -
Love that always has been
And always will be there

Love that never leaves
Nor forsakes
No matter what

Always - always
Through all eternity
Love
Great love
Love abounding
Love everlasting

It's there for you to receive
It's there
Like a precious gift
Just open it
Open it
Open it

It's yours - for the taking
Just receive it
No conditions

God's Love ... part 2 Jun 28, 2006 2:16 pm

I know most of you have heard about ‘Agape’ love or the divine love of God towards man which involves God doing what He knows is best for man and not necessarily what man desires.
Hm-m-m!! That will make you think – huh? I’ve often wondered of late – how deep is God’s love towards me? And the only answer I came up with was “I don’t know – how deep?” which isn’t really an answer at all but another question – a question that caused me to do some digging.

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Eph 3:18-19 (NLT) “May your roots go down deep into the soil of God’s marvelous love. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His love really is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is so great you will never fully understand it. Then you will be filled with the fullness of life and power that comes from God.”

I am here to tell you from personal experience that God’s love contains everything you need – it will sustain you – it brings provision and life – both spiritual and physical – it brings healing and freedom – and peace and comfort in the midst of a storm and so much more than this post could ever contain. So again I ask you – how deep is God’s love for you? I think it’s an intensely personal question – I think each person would give a different answer based on their personal experience of God’s love in their life. So think about it – how would you answer this question? Then consider sharing that experience with someone – you never know how it will affect their life - someone is waiting for you to tell them about God’s love.

"There is no limit to God's love. It is without measure and its depth cannot be sounded."
Mother Theresa

"God loves us; not because we are loveable but because He is love - not because He needs to receive but because He delights to give."

Did you know that praise is a spiritual weapon against the enemy? Did you know the devil gets mad when he hears you praising God - especially when you are in the midst of trial or a major storm in your life? The Bible says "The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but MIGHTY through God to the pulling down of strongholds". (2 Corinthians 10:4) So when you praise Him right in the heat of battle - you are crushing every stronghold that satan has on you. Doesn't matter how intense the circumstances are - don't look at the circumstances - focus on the Lord and just praise Him with every fiber of your being. Crush ole' slewfoots head with praise - he won't know what hit him!! Hallelujah!!

HOW CAN WE NOT WORSHIP HIM?

He is everything
He is all
He is I Am
He is the Rock
The plans He has for you He planned before you were even formed
In your mother’s womb – even from the beginning of time
He is the very next breath you take
HOW CAN YOU NOT WORSHIP HIM?

You praise Him for what He has done
But you worship Him for who He is
SO I ASK - WHO IS HE TO YOU?
Are you saved – then He is Savior to you
Have you been healed?
Emotionally – physically – financially?
Has He ever healed your broken heart or your wounded spirit?
Then He is healer to you.
Has He delivered you out of the very pit of hell? You should be dead!
Then He is deliverer to you.
Has he ever consoled you in the midst of grief and sorrow?
Then He is comforter to you.
Has He ever taken care of you and met your needs?
Then you know Him as provider.
Has He ever given you guidance or advice – then He is wonderful counselor
HOW CAN YOU NOT WORSHIP HIM?

He is the Alpha and Omega
He never changes
He never lies
He was and is and is to come
He is a two edged sword
He is our armor
He is mighty in battle
He is liberty
HOW CAN YOU NOT WORSHIP HIM?

He is the Holy One of Israel
He is Emmanuel
He is the Lion of Judah
He is Yahweh and Yah
He is Abba – dear Father
He is Adonai – Master
He is Elohim – Creator
He is El Elyon – God Most High
He is Jehovah Jireh – the Lord my provider
Jehovah Nissi – the Lord my banner
Jehovah Shalom – the Lord my peace
Jehovah Rophe – the Lord my healer
Jehovah Tsidkenkenu – the Lord my righteousness
Jehovah Makadesh – the Lord my sanctifier
Jehovah Rohi – the Lord my shepherd
He is El Shaddai – the Lord our supplier
HOW CAN YOU NOT WORSHIP HIM?

His name is Holy
His name is above ALL names
He is strength
And love and peace and joy
He is the Lamb of God
King of Kings and Lord of Lords
He is Almighty God
He is the one that wipes away your tears
He is the Christ
He is merciful and just and full of grace
He is the Rose of Sharon and the Lily of the Valley
He is the bright and morning star
And so much more than mere words can say

HOW CAN YOU NOT WORSHIP HIM?

How You Say It ... Jun 24, 2006 2:02 pm

(<<<<Picture of Whisper reading her email!!)

A local priest and a pastor were fishing on the side of the road. They thoughtfully made a sign saying, "The End is Near! Turn yourself around before it's too late!" and showed it to each passing car.

One driver who drove by didn't appreciate the sign and shouted at them, "Leave us alone you religious nuts!"

All of a sudden they heard a big splash, looked at each other, and the priest said to the pastor, "You think maybe we should have just said 'Bridge Out'?"
