Safe Harbor

"Safe Harbor" - it is a nautical term by the way and I just happen to be an ex-Navy girl - "is a place to come to when you've been damaged or beaten by the storms of life - it's a place of rest, refuge, and restoration - for a time - to receive healing or repair damages, and rest - in the Father's arms - no camping out here indefinitely - it will soon be time to get back out there and be about the Father's business. Yes, you can minister broken but how much more and better can you serve if you are restored and whole?"

"What a blessing was that stillness as He brought them safely into harbor." Psalms 107:30 NLT

Always remember to forget ... Dec 3, 2009 6:20 pm

Always remember to forget
The things that made you sad
But never forget to remember
The things that made you glad.

Always remember to forget
The friends that proved untrue.
But dont forget to remember
Those that have stuck by you.

Always remember to forget
The troubles that have passed away.
But never forget to remember
The blessings that come each day.

Fickle emotions ... Dec 2, 2009 6:24 pm

"If we base our walk with Christ on our fickle emotions, we will not walk in divine victory. Emotions are a poor thermometer to measure God. But if we base our walk with Christ on what God's Word says, we will experience one victory after another! Victory does not depend on "HOW I FEEL." Victory depends on "WHAT GOD HAS SAID."

I stand on God's Word and God's Word causes me to stand!"

He's the generator - we're just the ... Dec 1, 2009 3:12 pm
Mood: calm, 56 Views
A repost from Oct 2006:

From the book "Intercessory Prayer - How God Can Use Your Prayers to Move Heaven and Earth" by Dutch Sheets:

"For the fist time I understood the heavenly pattern:

Jesus is the Victor -- we're the enforcers;
Jesus is the Redeemer -- we're the releasers;
Jesus is the Head -- we're the Body.

Yes, He set the little girl free.
Yes, the village turned to Christ.
Yes, Jesus prevailed through a sent one.

So the partnership goes on - God and humans. But the correct pattern is critical:

My prayers of intercession release Christ's finished work of intercession.
His work empowers my prayers -- my prayers release His work.
Mine extends His - His validates mine.
In Kingdom Enterprises we're not in the production department. We're in distribution. BIG difference.
He's the generator. We're the distributors.

I think that makes us His co-laborers. What do you think? I think Christ is awesome and wants us to be "awesomites." Humble awesomites represting His awesomeness, but awesome nonetheless. More than conquerors! Christ and His Christ-ians, changing things on earth."

Feed your spirit ... Nov 30, 2009 8:17 pm
Mood: full ..., 79 Views
This is a repost of mine from Dec 2006 - thought I would share it with you again!!!

Did you know you need to feed your spirit as much as you feed your body? I never really thought about that before either. But you do! Your spirit, like your body will starve and wither and won’t function properly if not fed!! Your spirit needs nutrition too!! Really – I’m not kidding you!! So I ask you – are you feeding your spirit junk food or are you feeding your spirit well balanced meals? I plan to give you a little help here.

Out spirits have 3 primary needs: worship, relationship, and affection. If you lack these experiences, that part of us which takes in life is wounded and unable to sustain us. Even if you didn’t have these things as a child – it’s not too late – you can still learn them.

Worship: We praise God for what He has done but we worship Him for who He is. In the book “Captivating” – John Eldridge says “The one thing that is needed is a captivated, adoring heart, a heart that responds to the extravagant love of God with worship. Our hearts were made to worship. It is what we do; we can’t help it.”

Relationship: We need relationship with not only people but God as well. We need to surround ourselves with people who celebrate who we are. Be careful of toxic people. And remember we are valuable and worthwhile!

Affection: Appropriate touches and affection are so necessary and important in our lives. Scientific studies have shown that we can die if we aren’t touched. Studies have also shown that we need 8-10 appropriate touches a day – you know like hugs!!

Here are some very practical things that you can do to feed and strengthen your spirit: read the Word of God, pray blessings, give copious appropriate affection, expose yourself to beauty (music, art, nature, reading, etc.), choose life over death, experience life with all your senses (scents, colors, sounds, tastes, touches), play – have fun, worship and pray, forgive, outings (recreation, adventure), encouragement, communication and sharing how you feel, and balanced discipline. That doesn’t sound too hard – does it? You’re probably already doing some of these ‘healthy spirit’ activities!

Proverbs 17:22 says “A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a downcast spirit dries up the bones.” I believe the God knows what He is talking about!!

I'm gonna be on the road a couple of days and not sure if I will have computer access much when I get to my destination - so want to wish everyone a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving in advance - and don't forget to send thanx to our Creator as well - without Him none of us would be here - and there would be no hope of eternity.

Prayers of safe travel to all of you on the road.

Abundant blessings!!

his love is better than ... Nov 23, 2009 12:26 pm

1 O God, you are my God;
I earnestly search for you.
My soul thirsts for you;
my whole body longs for you
in this parched and weary land
where there is no water.
2 I have seen you in your sanctuary
and gazed upon your power and glory.
3 Your unfailing love is better than life itself;
how I praise you!

4 I will praise you as long as I live,
lifting up my hands to you in prayer.
5 You satisfy me more than the richest feast.
I will praise you with songs of joy.6 I lie awake thinking of you,
meditating on you through the night.
7 Because you are my helper,
I sing for joy in the shadow of your wings.
8 I cling to you;
your strong right hand holds me securely.

The Word speaks for itself!!

It's no mystery
Not really

Of love -
Love that always has been
And always will be there

Love that never leaves
Nor forsakes
No matter what

Always - always
Through all eternity
Love
Great love
Love abounding
Love everlasting

It's there for you to receive
It's there
Like a precious gift
Just open it
Open it
Open it

It's yours - for the taking
Just receive it
No conditions
