There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven.............
a time to be born and a time to die;
a time to kill and a time to heal;
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn and a time to dance...
a time to be silent and a time to speak......

....but for the grace of God go I....

Matthew 22 37,39

You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with your soul and with your mind;

You must love your neighbour as yourself.

okay folks.....

I guess this is a prayer request....

I have my handicapped boy.......winner of the provincial handicapped basketball this past Saturday home for 3 sleeps........usually only 2 separate nights during the week......

the group home where he stays is now being investigated for inadequate supervision and involvement of residents by police. The group home is not cooperating with police so I was called at work and I have fully cooperated and was interviewed Friday.

My youngest is a huge concern also and sees child psychologist......with me weekly......

I cannot do it all but I am praying for guidance.......our ministry of children and families provides very inadequate services and with my son being deaf....help is even more difficult to find......

but we know Jesus loves us! James is very close to Jesus.

Augustine (AD 354-430) aptly described man's need for God this way: "You have made us for yourself, O God, and our hearts are restless until they find their rest in you."

You are in your car driving home.

Thoughts wander to the game you want to see or meal you want to eat,

when suddenly a sound unlike any you've ever heard fills the air.

The sound is high above you.

A trumpet?

A choir?

A choir of trumpets?

You don't know, but you want to know. So you pull over, get

out of your car, and look up. As you do, you see you aren't the

only curious one. The roadside has become a parking lot.

Car doors are open, and people are staring at the sky. Shoppers

are racing out of the grocery store. The Little League baseball

game across the street has come to a halt. Players and parents

are searching the clouds.

And what they see, and what you see, has never before been seen.

As if the sky were a curtain, the drapes of the atmosphere part.

A brilliant light spills onto the earth. There are no shadows.
None.

From whence came the light begins to tumble a river of color spiking

crystals of every hue ever seen and a million more never seen. Riding

on the flow is an endless fleet of angels. They pass through the

curtains one myriad at a time, until they occupy every square inch of

the sky.

North.

South.

East.

West.

Thousands of silvery wings rise and fall in unison, and over the

sound of the trumpets, you can hear the cherubim and seraphim

chanting, Holy, holy, holy.

The final flank of angels is followed by twenty-four silver-bearded

elders and a multitude of souls who join the angels in worship.

Presently the movement stops and the trumpets are silent, leaving

only the triumphant triplet: Holy, holy, holy.

Between each word is a pause. With each word, a profound reverence.

You hear your voice join in the chorus. You don't know why you say

the words, but you know you must.

Suddenly, the heavens are quiet. All is quiet.

The angels turn, you turn, the entire world turns and there He is.

Jesus.

Through waves of light you see the silhouetted figure of Christ the King.

He is atop a great stallion, and the stallion is atop a billowing cloud.

He opens his mouth, and you are surrounded by his declaration: I am the

Alpha and the Omega.

The angels bow their heads.

The elders remove their crowns.

And before you is a Figure so consuming that you know, instantly you know:

Nothing else matters. Forget stock markets and school reports. Sales meetings

and football games. Nothing is newsworthy..

All that mattered, matters no more....

for Christ has come. . .

praying for patience Dec 9, 2006 5:04 am

People often pray for patience.

But do you know what the Bible says about patience?

Here are a few verses starting with the OT.

Psa. 37: 1 Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. 2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. 3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. 4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.--
Psalms 37;Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass
40:1-4 1 I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. 2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. 3 And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD. 4 Blessed is that man that maketh the LORD his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies
Rom. 5:3-5 --1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: 2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; 4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope: 5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
Phil. 4:11 --11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.
Heb. 6:12 -- 12 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises--10:35,36 --35 Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. 36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.
James 1:2-4,-- 2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; 3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. 4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
James 5,8 7 Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain. 8 Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh
II Peter 1:5-9 --5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; 6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; 7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. 8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
