THE TELL OF OUR GENERATION! Nov 12, 2008 3:23 am

I wrote this years ago, and it's not very good literary-wise, or endearing at all really (lol)... but the message, I think, remains. I didn't include the full version here (it's pretty long). It's interesting to look back at yourself, in this way. So I thought I might share it.
It's called:

The Tell of Our Generation!

What unbelieving people we all are!
For every true injustice upon us is but our own conjuring of devils!
We will ourselves- out of the frying pan and into the fire!
Such is the tell of our generation!

What power does AIDS really hold?
40 million deaths by a 100% preventable disease!
And almost every contraction,
is for utterly fleeting satisfaction!
Then children to them born, cursed by parental misdeed.
Such is the tell of our generation.

Look what power we give a mosquito!
Malarial vectors swarming the nations,
inflicting our most deadly disease!?!
The cost of certain people's lives is not economically viable,
so we tune out their screams.
Yes 'green paper' proves more powerful then they.
Those who have much, much could be given,
so those who have not, may retain but a little.
But our greed is the most mighty of giants!
What true value is a brilliant diamond bracelet?
Or a gawdy castle for a home?
A $200 bottle of champagne?
or anything else bought in vain?
I tell you the $2 bed net or $7 vial of medicine-
brings more true esteem!
But such is the tell of our generation.

Daily our brothers and sisters and children starve without meat or bread.
They die in great numbers each day from tainted water.
And yet we give what is meant to nourish- the power to kill!
Across the poverty curtain we engorge ourselves beyond belief.
Gluttony attacks and hardens our arterties,
While we feed our hardened hearts!
And our toddlers of many nations, cry out for a scrap!
Utter decadence and raging famine,
This is the tell of our generation.

What power we give infidelity!
With such nonchalance do we break our vows!
How much longer will we give our loins the power to shatter a heart?
Those shattered hearts leading to broken homes,
and broken homes leak- with the tears of our children!
With such wrecklessness do we adulterate the innocence of youth!
And forsake the future of our world.
With what awful neglect do we abandon our familial duties!
Such is the tell of our generation.

With what fervency we seek to remove the Eternal G-d from our lips!
Unbelieving adults, make desolate our schools of timeless Commandments.
O' how we exalt our blessed political correctness over Truth!
O' how we wouldn't dare offend a man, without any fear of our G-d!
What power is there in us mortals, if our names are blotted out?
But what is written in stone cannot be blotted nor burned!
Flammable parchment...
This is the tell of our generation!
And the smoke rises to the Heavens.GBY!
