Selah, Eloheinu...The Days of Our Youth.

There's a billion stars of light,
swirling upon their youthful heart,
and they just can't seem to let them out.
Or say how much they care,
or how much they wish they were there,
With you...
or even how desperately they love you,
So MAYBE they'll sing,
"Selah...
Eloheinu."

With them it's always the same,
'hello' and 'goodbye,'
Yeah, nice to meet you,
I'll see you sometime.
People come and disappear so quick,
but them feelings stay thick,
long after the close,
where'd that last step-parent go?
Then, heyo, where'd her boyfriend go?
Just a smoldering ember,
Yo, maybe they'll remember,
And never surrender...
"Selah,
Eloheinu."

Flames of discourse dancing on their life,
No one cares,
no one's around,
except for that pain and strife,
they wake up feeling all alone,
besides this isn't any place to call home.
They know their too young to feel this way -
so, their wishing they were older,
and that the world wasn't always growing colder,
Devil or G-ds Soldier???
Heyo! Where'd the father and mother go?
Selah,
Eloheinu!

Life dealt them a wicked hand,
and anger grips their youthful heart,
family tossed, and torn apart,
Hey, when does life start,
when you START OUT with a broken heart???
And... which way is up,
when all you know is down?
Heyo, when this life is a living hell for you,
you can't always see things through!
Who will teach them?
Bitter old "Christian", is it you??????????????????????????????
Yeah, complain all you want,
They know all they've got...
is "Selah,
Eloheinu!"

Lately, I'm entirely disillusioned by the attitudes of the "elder Christian" men here. With a few great exceptions. I see so little Godly direction from their peacock-preening; what chance do the non-believing youth have in seeing truth?

Barukh atah Eloheinu melekh ha-olam, dayan ha-emet.
