This is act 2 of the saga, I wrote today. All in all- this is one of the most taxing things I've ever written. Not sure why... hope someone can make it all the way through.

Act 2: The Abyss

To mine right lie my departed body
nearest-left whinnied the abominable horse
whose rider hath no remorse-
his eyes once as crescents
now turned- they full
as two harvest moons- blood red and coarse.

And as quickly as he'd come-twas shot a-gain
from whence he'd came
holding fast to leathern reign-
upon his boney, dead steed, hungered and dry
disappeared he into the night sky!

Though the ground be dew soaked and cold
I felt naught- but only light and hot
-mine feet appeared to reach the ground-
though verily- I felt it not.

There was but an moment given to this amazement-
when trumpet sound- shook the very ground
-peels of thunder atop cannon's fire-
could not describe the Trumpet of Dire!
I know not from where
but then stood there
two fantastic beings of light
roundabout mine slain body
Both furious- and near to fight!

Their words echoed like distant muzzle blast-
mine ears knew not their strange speech
though my heart knew each word- full well
quarreled they over my sins- past
-lo, to the victor went with him-
forever my soul to dwell!
Eternity in balance
-yea, the Scales of Commandment Breech!
Thine larger spirit spoke of abominable things
the smaller- of covenants and brides rings.
Lo! Twas lucifer and Michael the Angel who'd argued there!

Yea, upon Satan's face were not eyes-
but in their stead- two tablespoons of midnight-
though his countenance was sparkling and white.
He'd glimmering robes of silken- golden thread
yet I beheld his eyes were as the dead!

Michael the Angel was smaller but comely and bold
speaking words of a covenant a'fore told.
He stood his ground for an time
though lucifer it seemed- was just too strong.
I shivered and shook- uncertain of my fate
never had I witnessed such words of hate!
Was I to witness mine own soul- about to be sold?

I tried to speak against thee-
-many awful, railing accusations against me
-but verily I say-
when in-between the world's to come-
one truly hast no tongue!

So I could but watch as the battle wore on-
yea, silent is the soul that's- for the taking
though he be desperate and quaking!
Then amidst the contentious attack
thunderous words were raised to climax
and the devil did grin-
for he knew he'd win
mine soul be his for the taking!

Michael the Angels countenance grew dim
for thine devil was too much for him
defeated he issued one final decree-
-in humble tired tone-
"The Lord rebuke thee."

Lo, then the devil hisself looked upon my soul,
-as might an hungry lion - upon a foal!
My fright was such- that if alive-
surely I would have died an second time!
Eyes of coal and piercing night-
then beheld, the soul he'd won in fight!

Below his feet thereby- opened an ghastly evil shaft
heaving plumes of smoke from an abyss-
-spilling forth a multitude of voices-
bearing bellows of unbridled- evil hiss!
Then lucifer hisself did speak,
"wicked man, thy soul is mine!"

He stretched forth his terrible hand,
mine throat being its wicked demand.

BEHOLD! was then and there-
My Saviour bore an light unto me!
Beautiful voice thunderous and grand-
shouted from the Heavens this Command,
"lucifer, TOUCH YE NOT MINE ANOINTED!"

For lo, satan withdrew his arm from before me
-it'd become snowy white with leprosy!
He gnashed his teeth and snarled before me
twas then mine tongue was loosed-
I cried "Ha-Mashiach! Jesus of Galilee!"

The earth was rent from beneath me feet
the shaft to the abyss torn in its place
For One bearing the Son of Man's face-
descended from on high upon a white colt
-peels of thunder rocked east to west-
Mashiach rode faster than an lightning bolt...

This is a repost of something I wrote a few months ago. Well, I wrote act 2 today...but wanted to repost this so it would make sense!

ACT 1: HIS EARTHLY PLAIN

The sun descended
and my head did hang
For I was greatly wounded but not slain.
A soliloquy; of hymns once sang.

The dew did set as my blood did let
-For the earth hath no remorse nor shame-
but takes all; be they king or cur
extinguishes she their flame.

My scabbard lie beneath my awkward repose
tangled-enshrouded in blood soaked clothes
From pain there was no rest
beneath my chinked and marred vest
Its deed-outlasts the longest battles close.

Pathos! Sweet Pain!
Where is thy gain?
An fateful night-
after an most horrendous fight?
Sweet orris where is thy scent -
when mortal flesh is rent,
and lain- near slain
upon the parched and spiny ground?

My shield lie beside me
mine head found a craggy rest.
My mouth did not whisper nor wail-
twas then and there
amidst my sullen stare-
The stage did set-for moon to crest.

Stage left- and the curtain was drawn
an array of lights, the galaxy did spawn
As if flakes of snow-
had been made to glow!
My soul yet clung hard-
As I lowered my guard
and embraced the sublime-celestial show.

White glittering lumen's-
illuminating mine ruins.
The pain did ease-
as if taken upon gentle breeze.
In its peace I focused my gaze,
Came there a strange bluish blaze!
"Behold," a beam- parts the heavenly seas!

For what came next seems a ghastly tale
"Lo!" A star lept forth-
As an arrow shot on the earth!
Tis a terrific sight
when a ball of light-
falls upon thee as hail!
Twas a wretched being the sky did birth.
An horseman, whose steed was deathly pale
-as if suffered an thousand years of dearth-
near made my heart to fail!
For my death was its abominable mirth.

The beast swooped in a flash
-It's riders gaze fast upon me-
stillness shattered with gallops thrash!
-it's lips did part, to issue this decree:
"Michael, from me-
surely can no mortal flee,
and lo, I come for thee."

Twas the twinkling of an eye,
he'd drawn his fiery sword-
and thrust it through my side,
flesh not torn- but silver cord,
For verily, I died!

My soul came out through mine mouth-
with my dying breath.
Surely I can attest-
words alone cannot express
the vision of ones own body lain-slain-
...upon J*h's earthly plain.
