 | Reflections, Poetry, and Prose from the depths of the Midnight Ocean. Out of the depths I cry to you, O LORD; O Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy. Psalm 130 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant. After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inwards parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. Jeremiah 31:31-33 Wherefore the law is holy, and the Commandment Holy, and just, and good. Rom7:12 Sifatai tiftach- u'fi yagid- tehilatecha!- If I open my lips- let my mouth- declare Your praise! |

| DIVINE ILLOGIC? |
Jul 3, 2008 8:21 pm 511 Views | If there truly is no such thing as free will for the common human, then one would not have the freedom to decide whether or not such a thing actually exists or not; thus it would be futile and a fools errand to bang on and on about it. Of course then again- if free will truly does not exist, this post would have no effect on those who bang on about it, because they like-wise would not have the freedom to decide to stop banging on about it. Therefore resistence from illogic- as well as logic- would be futile I suppose. Or do I??LOL?

| A POEM ABOUT BEING FRUITFUL |
Jul 3, 2008 10:56 am 403 Views | This is a Poem and a Psalm I wrote and wanted to repost- and add a pic. It's about being joyous and fruitful until He returns. Hope you enjoy...it's called...
Letitshine!
Letitshine, letitshine let the earth unwind, wisdom descends from heaven like dew on the vine. We'll drink till we're full & ask Him- for some more, remaining unfinished in the vintage year, -while living waters sweetens- the fruit of the vine.
Letitshine, letitshine -illuminate the skyline grace fills the space between the earth & divine. Pass me the cup I need me some more may the heavens rejoice of what lies in store as trees in the forest we sing 'as the sea in it's fullness we'll roar'
Yes, I said letitshine, letitshine- For He is our lifeline- and by His Spirit are we refined. I have put my trust in Your mercy For I am Yours and You are mine. Let me get a drink from Your crystalline well So merry-and merry the dawn finds us well!
O'letitshine, letitshine O'letitshine-letitshine
And may my heart never falter, ---no never resign, And we wait patiently on earth like the roots of the vine, and when You're thirsty Lord come drink, For we are Your creation, and Your design, yes, Your vintage and sweet--- Merry good wine.
Till then we'll sing: O'letitshine, letitshine letitshine -let -it -shine. Sabrefire A FirePost

| MY DAY IN THE THORNS! |
Jul 3, 2008 10:23 am 383 Views | And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection. -LUKE 8:14 ---------------------------------------- (This is a true story from last week and my reflection on it)
By the time I arrived it was already sweltering. The sun was high overhead and the humidity added insult to its injury. I set about my fathers garage gathering what tools might help. Chainsaw, pruning shears, multiple bottles of water, sunscreen. The work was tough and of the exhausting sort. A few of the trees I fell were up to 24" in circumference. The chainsaw made rather light work of them, it was I who was struggling. The canopy up high was erased rather quickly. But it was wading through the thick underbrush that took most of my effort. And snagged away my at my time. After years of inattention the thorns and pricker bushes had entangled and snared the west facing fence row of my fathers property. A chainsaw was quite ineffective against them, though it had just fallen some nice trees. In order for me to effectively rid them I had to carefully and delicately maneuver myself within reach of the base - at the soil. No matter how daintily I went about the task I was stuck and rasped by thorns. Arms, legs, even torso through my thick cotton shirt. Sweaty, sun burnt (because their low lying structure doesn't afford any uv blockage) and tired- I eventually had to call it a day. I needed rest.-------------------------------------------- We all need Sabbath- rest. Our Father sent us to do a job. And this job is spiritual. What often times hinders us from completing this job, is not necessarily the large glaring obstructions that stands in our pathway. Sometimes it is the lowly things that restrict and entangle us greatly. When we are too busy worrying, or too busy working extra hours to make that new SUV payment, or always too busy with entertainment to study the Word, pray and be with family... we are shirking the duties of the spirit. For what our flesh tells us is pleasurable, often can be like thorns choking our spirit. The good news; Christ already bore our thorns as a crown. And in Him alone- do we find a Sabbath- a rest.GB, sabrefire Copyright ©2008 MAS | |
