The Midnight Ocean

Reflections, Poetry, and Prose from the depths of the Midnight Ocean.
Out of the depths I cry to you, O LORD;
O Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy.
Psalm 130
Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant. After those days, saith the LORD,
I will put my law in their inwards parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God,
and they shall be my people.
Jeremiah 31:31-33

Wherefore the law is holy, and the Commandment Holy, and just, and good. Rom7:12

In blossoms of new love
when we walked- us there,
With porcelain skin radiant and fair-
at measure so high doth illuminate the night sky.
Had we then ne'er a concept of goodbye
Yet youthful hearts pay a hefty fare!

Ode to youth in paradise!
With joyous, tender hearts in array
hell 'er high water, vowing ne'er to stray
petals therefore upon ginger breeze
huddled en mass, as absconders from worldly freeze
man, nor G-d, hath greater joy- than youthful lovers' play!

As for the end, my friend, I need tell you not
For does come thereby- a day replete with tears
tender hearts agape, gushing with sharpened fears
curse the day- passionate energy-
becomes as the kiss of thy enemy!
The world doth surely prune her blossoms with dreadful shears!

Struggling, whispering & spinnin
frazzelin, drownin & dreamin

& give the world back her mystique
it's been too long since I touched the ground-
hopin she still can be found.
Jah- dont't mean to demean
but this machines gotten obscene
we got styrene and xylene -and a tapedoff crime scene
brothers who can't get access to the vaccine
while our children are dyin of thrist-

Struggln, whisperiing & spinnin
frazzelin, drownin and dreamin
Yeah, gonna lace up my boots and drop down feet first
get immersed in the curse
MISSION: MAKE HEADWAY
take her by land, sea and highway
reveal this zeal
yeah, we're gonna do more than just kneel
-Jah, let's catch the subway-
sashay down Broadway
gonna dispell the grey
blast the blase`
strengthen the weak
& embolden the meek

We're Strugglin, whispering spinnin-
We're frazzelin, drownin and dreamin-
It may seem surreal
but, this missions for real
& it's got its appeal
morning & evening we'll pray
yeah, sway to the rhythm of J-hwey!
Jah!

My Dear-
by Sabrefire
"We spend our years as a tale that is told." (Ps90)
She says, "but the last few years the story is gettin old,
& sometimes the world can be so cold."
She's got a lot of pressure but she's not gonna fold.
After G*d made her, He shattered the mold.

Head above the rest is a lonely way to fly
& she's always having to wave goodbye.
But, hush my dear and don't you cry
to me: you're an angel of the Most High.

"Number your days and apply your heart to wisdom." (ps90)
For such an one enters The Kingdom.
Child, with man it's hard to shine -
when you're always having to draw the line.
& no amount of money will change someones fate
remember, a home is not the spirits estate.
& yes, people will tell you not to be so uptight,
but in G-d's eyes it's called walking upright.
Don't ever forget to keep your lamp burning bright,
for "someday" comes as a thief in the night.
& if it's meant to be- you'll be my princess and I'll be your knight.
You know- you're not really so frail,
& it's only this dreary light that makes you look pale.
"You're the head and not the tail."
Trust... for none of these shall fail.

Bless,
Sabrefire

To My Queen Mar 14, 2008 10:35 pm
Mood: 93, 338 Views
The girl is a queen though her father was never a king; nor has she ever been taken by a king as a wife. She has the most beautiful voice in the world, just never once had occasion to sing. In all her life she's found not a man her equal; and the world treats her as a maid. She sits out there now and ponders eternity. I know this with certainty. Look up my queen, that is our moon. For "us" in the universe there is little room.

More Miracles? Resp. Feb 18, 2008 7:46 pm

I think this really is a grand philosophical/religiousity problem of not only our society but perhaps part of the human condition. I think that we often look for fantastical or "magical" miracles; while overlooking what is supposed to be a tenant of our faith... and that is that all of life is a miracle created by G*d. Each day I wake up is a miracle, the fact that I am a sentient being is a miracle. All the "laws of science" are miracles as they must be G*d's also. My love, your love, my G*d's Love, is a miracle. If anyone were to have "faith of a mustard seed," and believe G*d created everything... nothing is "natural" but supernatural and thus a miracle. GBY Sabrefire

God in Nature Feb 12, 2008 10:11 am

Finding God in nature is a beautiful endeavour. Here's a little undertaking of mine that I find fascinating and strongly indicative of God's wisdom in creation.

Job 39:26 "Doth the hawk fly by thy wisdom, and stretch her wings toward the south?"

(Devlin)4. Star Navigation: At least one species of birds -- Indigo Buntings -- use the stars to navigate at night. It appears that they learn to recognize the pattern of stars in the night sky when they are still in the nest. For instance, a few years ago, a study found that nestling Indigo Buntings in the northern hemisphere watch as the stars in the night sky wheel around Polaris -- the north star, located above Earth's north pole. Polaris lies due north for those in the northern hemisphere. Being able to identify Polaris in the night sky could help birds find their way north.

To test this hypothesis, the researchers showed the birds a natural sky pattern inside a planetarium. They seemed to fly in a direction consistent with being able to detect the motion of the stars. They knew in their own way which direction was north.

When the experimenters changed the set up so that Betelgeuse was now the pole star which the stars rotated around, the birds flew in a direction consistent with Betelgeuse being the pole star. They no longer went where they should have relative to Polaris. So, they weren't using the locations of specific star patterns. It was just that they were noticing which star the others rotated around. In other words, it wasn't the star patterns, but how they moved that counted.

To further substantiate the claim, it has been recognized that some birds become disoriented on cloudy nights, when they can't see the stars. (It should be noted, however, that despite what you might read in books and articles, the Indigo Bunting is the only species of bird which has been demonstrated to use celestial navigation.)

Navigation by the stars is, of course, one of the ways human mariners of times past found their way around the globe. As with solar navigation and magnetic field navigation, the human version involves trigonometric calculations. How do birds solve the equivalent problems?

Science V. Preachers and Deception Rant. Feb 12, 2008 9:47 am

There is little excuse for arrogance's in any community. It seems far too often that members of the scientific community are bent on turning the minds of the people away from their faith by inundating the uninitiated with "facts" and simply stepping back to watch the fallout. In retort we have a collection of "religious" figures that throw fuel on the fire by making outrageous claims themselves; based not on sound scriptural understanding, but rather traditions of men. Both sides serve only to deceive the people in turning their attention to a totally fictitious squabble that supposes to show the incompatibility between science and Gods Word. No such thing does, nor can exist. As the communities are busy warring our children's attention is inevitably turned from the actual Word. Arrogance's on both sides largely are to blame for the dimming of the flame that should be be ignited in the end times (remnant). But a great many people allow themselves to be deceived in that they crave the "gang" mentality and would far rather be in warring opposition to something they can see and feel, than reading God's word with a humble heart and spiritually waiting patiently for direction. They want to be part of the winning side. "Scientist" calling those with faith simpletons; and the "religious" wishing to damn all the scientists on a whim. Here's my advice/ questions to both sides...
Scientists:
"Atoms and elementary particles...form a world of potentialities or possibilities, rather than one of things or facts... atoms are not things'(Heisenburg, in Quantum Reality p195).

"All the qualities of the atom of modern physics are derived, it has no immediate and direct physical properties at all(Philosophic Problems in Nuclear Science, FC Hayes, p38.)

"We cannot tell from science whether humans are here by chance or not. But all facts are compatible with the laws of nature being 'fixed' so that humans are bound to come into existence (Ward, Pascal's Fire p19)."

Religious:
"Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge? Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou Me. Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding. Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it." Job 38:2-5

All: Don't rely too much on anyone for understanding, be strong and faithful, and let your own (with Spirit) humble meditations on faithful translations of God's word guide you. It is your duty to seek out the answers to questions that trouble you...work! Preacher so-and so said this, or Dr. i'm-smarter-than-you said that; just won't cut it in the end. Peace in the Spirit. -Sabrefire

Heretic- One to Another Feb 4, 2008 2:03 pm
Mood: 74, 369 Views
For each man became an heretic- one to the other.
I sought thee hard, but lo, beheld not a brother
Twilight and the stars became my only home
By day, solitary and frantic did I roam.
I cried across the sands but did you hear?
No, there was not a single place to endear.
The earth was scorched my feet did burn.
For a drop of water continually did I yearn.
In protest did mine empty stomach churn.
I cried out in my desperation "God, is no man learned?"
By dusk cameth forth all manner of creeping things.
Nightmares arrive as on owls wings.
I dreamt dawn was not my salvation for wicked things it likewise brings,
like how the metal of a thief's blade rings.
I sawest: I'd starve, I beheld myself slain, I was broken and drown in the waves!
Yea, I saw the whole earth littered with graves.
I heard the very ground cry out for the blood it craved.
As a madman- I raved.

For, if every man becomes an heretic-one to the other-
lo, no man will have himself a brother.
Charity above all things- I beseech you all to love one another!
-Mike

A Psalm of Life Feb 1, 2008 11:37 pm

"Tell me not, in mournful numbers,
'Life is but an empty dream!'
For the soul is dead that slumbers,
And things are not what they seem.

Life is real! Life is earnest!
And the grave is not its goal;
'Dust thou art, to dust returnest,'
Was not spoken of the soul.

Not enjoyment and not sorrow,
Is our destined end or way;
But to act that each to-morrow
Find us further than today..."
