 | Reflections, Poetry, and Prose from the depths of the Midnight Ocean.
Out of the depths I cry to you, O LORD; O Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy. Psalm 130
Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant. After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inwards parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. Jeremiah 31:31-33
Sifatai tiftach- u'fi yagid- tehilatecha!- If I open my lips- let my mouth- declare Your praise! |

| DIVINE ILLOGIC? |
Jul 3, 2008 8:21 pm 85 Views | If there truly is no such thing as free will for the common human, then one would not have the freedom to decide whether or not such a thing actually exists or not; thus it would be futile and a fools errand to bang on and on about it. Of course then again- if free will truly does not exist, this post would have no effect on those who bang on about it, because they like-wise would not have the freedom to decide to stop banging on about it. Therefore resistence from illogic- as well as logic- would be futile I suppose. Or do I??LOL?

| A POEM ABOUT BEING FRUITFUL |
Jul 3, 2008 10:56 am 59 Views | This is a Poem and a Psalm I wrote and wanted to repost- and add a pic. It's about being joyous and fruitful until He returns. Hope you enjoy...it's called...
Letitshine!
Letitshine, letitshine let the earth unwind, wisdom descends from heaven like dew on the vine. We'll drink till we're full & ask Him- for some more, remaining unfinished in the vintage year, -while living waters sweetens- the fruit of the vine.
Letitshine, letitshine -illuminate the skyline grace fills the space between the earth & divine. Pass me the cup I need me some more may the heavens rejoice of what lies in store as trees in the forest we sing 'as the sea in it's fullness we'll roar'
Yes, I said letitshine, letitshine- For He is our lifeline- and by His Spirit are we refined. I have put my trust in Your mercy For I am Yours and You are mine. Let me get a drink from Your crystalline well So merry-and merry the dawn finds us well!
O'letitshine, letitshine O'letitshine-letitshine
And may my heart never falter, ---no never resign, And we wait patiently on earth like the roots of the vine, and when You're thirsty Lord come drink, For we are Your creation, and Your design, yes, Your vintage and sweet--- Merry good wine.
Till then we'll sing: O'letitshine, letitshine letitshine -let -it -shine. Sabrefire A FirePost

| MY DAY IN THE THORNS! |
Jul 3, 2008 10:23 am 62 Views | And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection. -LUKE 8:14 ---------------------------------------- (This is a true story from last week and my reflection on it)
By the time I arrived it was already sweltering. The sun was high overhead and the humidity added insult to its injury. I set about my fathers garage gathering what tools might help. Chainsaw, pruning shears, multiple bottles of water, sunscreen. The work was tough and of the exhausting sort. A few of the trees I fell were up to 24" in circumference. The chainsaw made rather light work of them, it was I who was struggling. The canopy up high was erased rather quickly. But it was wading through the thick underbrush that took most of my effort. And snagged away my at my time. After years of inattention the thorns and pricker bushes had entangled and snared the west facing fence row of my fathers property. A chainsaw was quite ineffective against them, though it had just fallen some nice trees. In order for me to effectively rid them I had to carefully and delicately maneuver myself within reach of the base - at the soil. No matter how daintily I went about the task I was stuck and rasped by thorns. Arms, legs, even torso through my thick cotton shirt. Sweaty, sun burnt (because their low lying structure doesn't afford any uv blockage) and tired- I eventually had to call it a day. I needed rest.-------------------------------------------- We all need Sabbath- rest. Our Father sent us to do a job. And this job is spiritual. What often times hinders us from completing this job, is not necessarily the large glaring obstructions that stands in our pathway. Sometimes it is the lowly things that restrict and entangle us greatly. When we are too busy worrying, or too busy working extra hours to make that new SUV payment, or always too busy with entertainment to study the Word, pray and be with family... we are shirking the duties of the spirit. For what our flesh tells us is pleasurable, often can be like thorns choking our spirit. The good news; Christ already bore our thorns as a crown. And in Him alone- do we find a Sabbath- a rest.GB, sabrefire Copyright ©2008 MAS | |

| WHAT IS LURKING OUTSIDE??? |
Jul 2, 2008 6:15 am 69 Views | 7/2/08 7:50AM EST Fox News Homepage: 'Oil Shock' Gripping World Weary Fire Crew Battles On, National Guard troops rush to relieve firefighters Murder Spree Suspect Captured BULLDOZER RAMPAGE ALERT: At least two are killed and dozens injured in Jerusalem when a Palestinian bulldozer driver plows into cars and a crowded bus before he is shot dead by police. ------------------------------------------------- The morning here is soft and pleasant. The birds are in chorus with their typical morning banter and socializings. A warm soft breeze already carries the fragrance of awakening blossoms Through my screen door. Clouds are wispy and high this morning- giving just the most modest glimpse of the blue- beyond. My heart has just as pervasive a sense of serenity- as the view outside. There is no hint of the chaos that has befallen the world. No hint- to the darkness and utter confusion that lurks beyond my doorpost's. The morning whispers nothing of those who would hate me and lay a snare for me. Murderers, rapists, child abusers, homicide bombers. They are silent this morning. They seem far from me. As far away as the Land of Make Believe, or any of the other fictitious fables loci. But this is no fairytale. It's real and it's earnest, and deadly serious. It is Life.
"Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom." Luke 12:32
Thank the Lord I do not belong to this world. Thank Christ I have in Him a resting place and a Sabbath.

| WHO WANTS A MIRACLE TODAY??? |
Jun 27, 2008 1:44 am 303 Views | I think it's a grand philosophical/religiosity problem- of not only our society- but perhaps part of the human condition... that we ask G-d why don't we see more miracles. I feel that we too often look for fantastical or "magical" miracles; while overlooking what is supposed to be a tenant of our faith... and that is that all of creation is a miracle- created by Our G-d. Each day I wake up is a miracle. The fact that I am a sentient being is a miracle beyond comprehension.
My love, your love, G-d's Love, is a miracle.
All the "laws of science" are miracles; as they must be G-d's laws also (as Creator). It's easy sometimes to fall into the mindset that a miracle is G-d contending with nature and defeating it by intervention. But, G-d doesn't contend with nature- He creates and upholds it, and utilizes it. It is His- just as we- who are His Children are His. And there is a Divine Purpose to this plan. I see "nature" is as a veil that covers G-d, and it is up to us to seek beyond the veil- but we cannot fully take it away. If anyone were to have "faith of a mustard seed," and believe G-d created everything... nothing is "natural" but supernatural and thus a miracle. So if you want a miracle today, just step outside, take in a deep breath and thank the Lord: for everything you see, smell touch and hear today is a MIRACLE. Even your every breath. | IT'S IN THE DELIVERY!!! |
Jun 23, 2008 9:22 pm 242 Views | There is an old Rabbinical lesson that goes: During the first century B.C. in Babylonia there were two Jewish sages that were sought out for their vast knowledge of the Word. Shammai and Hillel.
One day a gentile decided he might want to convert to Judaism. So he first went to the famous Shammai and said, "I will convert to Judaism if you can tell me the whole Torah while I stand on one foot." Shammai became exasperated at the challenge and promptly threw the gentile man out of his home. Then the man went to Hillel and posed the same question. Hillel was a patient and gentle spirited man of the Word- and he told the gentile...
"What is hateful to you, do not do to your neighbor. That is the whole Torah; the rest is the explanation of this--go and study it!"
The man was impressed and converted and went on to become a student of G-d's Word. The lesson is: Shammai had failed because he was impatient and curt. His heart was not with the gentile, but rather with his own understanding and seemingly vast knowledge of truth.
In the next century Christ did what no other man was capable of...delivering all men from the clutches of death, so long as they believed on Him, and He was found within them. Too many sages had become as Shammai was. And Christ gave a "new commandment." Our Lord said: John 13:34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another."
Love, as well as the Word of G-d, it appears- is found in it's delivery.

My daddy was a soldier and my Grandpa was a Marine.... I grew up with a rifle you bet I know just how to use it and while my friends were off and playing Momma had me working- I never got allowance but man my bed sure was warm at night.
that's why I'm saying G-d bless the U.S. from sea to shining sea- And that's why I'm screaming- "don't tread on me!" GB the U.S. and all that I see.
I was working hard in school And I followed the golden rule And if I messed up- man I sure didn't want to go home. And one time I got spanked thirty times from that point on- I sure didn't like the lying. my new found love for truth was evident! You know I asked before I did it and I put it way after I used it- And it's these little things that taught me to be a man.
That's why I'm saying G-d bless the U.S. from sea to shining sea- And that's why I'm screaming- "don't tread on me!" GB the U.S. and all that I see.
And after school was out there was never any doubt we'd be vacationing on the lakes- due north of here. And we caught a ton of fish and oh man how my skin got burnt! We spent only what we could afford- but we never felt bored And Oh G-d how we were blessed!
That's why I'm saying G-d bless the U.S. from sea to shining sea- And that's why I'm screaming- "don't tread on me!" GB the U.S. and all that I see.
I spent New Years Eve with the congregation And I never questioned my salvation. we had the freedom to choose- and we wisely picked the truth- because after death the chickens come home to roost- And I was proof- that city boys and country boys were introduced. That's why I'm singing G-d bless you Lady Liberty!
Big city fights with bigger kids and oh how they talked so tough! But daddy always told me "a big mouth don't make a man." He said "ya gotta make your stand"- and "all that matters is if you fight- for what you know is right." And to this day I still haven't backed down from a fight... But I've talked a lot of sense- into a lot of fools And even a few of them afterward, said- "man yer pretty cool!"
that's why I'm saying G-d bless the U.S. from sea to shining sea- And that's why I'm screaming- "don't tread on me!" GB the U.S. and all that I see.
I'd spend all day playing, or else momma would be saying -"boy you'd best find something to do!" I remember Coca Cola coming in glass bottles and when a tank of gas was just 20 dollars. And when stars and stripes were forever- as when the Berlin Wall came down. Becuase we were thankful for the freedoms that were around- And this nation would salute at the bugles sound!
that's why I'm saying G-d bless the U.S. from sea to shining sea- And that's why I'm screaming- "don't tread on me!" GB the U.S. and all that I see.
Thats why I'm praying GB the U.S. It's for all YOUR Children still around... GB, sabrefire

| FOR ALL THE WOMEN HERE... |
Jun 17, 2008 6:35 pm 474 Views |
This is for the heavy laden women here- with beautiful hearts for Our Lord. May peace be with you all tonight and forever...
-Half-in, Half-out- For the believing woman- whose mind and heart tells her constantly that she has outgrown the limitations of her bodily shell- she becomes dismayed because of her inability to mold her world into a more suitable, heaven-like, habitation. The mind is imprisoned, shackeled by ever-aging flesh, pain, desires, and insecurities. She must rewrite her reality...though her mind constantly scrawls on upon the walls of the inner chambers, as a prisoner might. Suffering a sentence with forced patience; graffiti only she can see in her dark solitary cell.BUT- she is the artist of its writing, the sole master of her cell. The life among the rocks. And though she continually weeps because of her confinement, she is safe here...with her Lord in her heart.Though she feels imprisoned, silent to the world, and absent from their thoughts, vision and hearts. SHE IS PART OF THE BEAUTY OF THE WORLD. The light of the world. And G-d is there. GB, sabrefire

| Can A Heart Love Again??? |
Jun 14, 2008 5:48 pm 449 Views |
Here's a bit of sloppy prose I wrote on this beautiful day the Lord had made. I'll call it, Heart Enough For Two...
Go silently into the night need to feel the breeze I need that freeze- to wane the flames of a heart. Fire? Heart enough for two.
"What is truth?" Lord above. Look at the shackels like steely bracelets- worn with pride U wanted truth- here's the proof heart enough for two.
I'll suffer the sentence solitary confinement here without you- hearts lament Alone? Spirit teaches soul refinement. heart enough for two.
Send me a Princess -there's a covanent- in the morning- light must shine. Time spent in darkness, who'll praise the Son? Morning Star arising in a heart making space- heart enough for two- now there's room enough for a princess too-
Gotta heart enough for three.
