What Bought My Salvation????????? Apr 15, 2006 3:20 am
Mood: thankful, 487 Views

It wasn't His broken body that bought me salvation.

It wasn't the stripes in Pilate's Hall.

Those were vastly important, but not what bought my salvation.

If a cross could have saved me, anyone could have died on it.

If stripes could have saved me, any prisoner could have borne them.

If a broken body could have saved me, I could claim any accident victim as my Savior.

If any of these things could have saved me, I could have saved myself and taken glory in my own sacrifice.

But no, it was none of these things! It was the blood of the perfect sacrifice, the Blood of the Lamb of God, the blood of Jesus Christ that saved me and nothing else.

No man can duplicate that perfect sacrificial blood. No man can claim to have a part in his own salvation. It is only through the Blood of the Lamb of God that I could be saved. - unknown

Thank You, Lord Jesus, for You Blood!!!!!!!!!!

Have you been baptized in the Holy Spirit as a separate experience from when the Holy Spirit entered you when you became saved? If you vote yes, and if you have time, would you please share your testimony with us? Testimonies are so very powerful in illustrating a Biblical concept. Thank you!

Thank You, Lord! Apr 14, 2006 6:57 am

Isa 53:4-5 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he [was] wounded for our transgressions, [he was] bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace [was] upon him; and with his stripes we are healed."

He didn't just come to save us from our sin, although I am so grateful that He did do that. He also bore our griefs, carried our sorrows, was bruised for our iniquities, took our chastisement so that we could be at peace and took the lashes so that we could be healed, spiritually, emotionally and physically.

Lord, eternity will not be long enough for me to tell You how grateful I am for all You have done for me. I thank You for choosing me to be Your child. I thank You for taking away my sin. I thank You for giving me Your peace. I thank You for taking away my sorrow. I thank You for bearing my grief when I couldn't bear it any longer. I thank You for healing me spiritually, emotionally and physically. I am forever Yours. You have won my heart like no one else could have. You are my everything!

Our Choice or God's? Apr 14, 2006 4:11 am

Do you think that God has just one special person for us to marry or do you think that we can choose whoever we want to marry as long as they are a Christian?
God has one special person for me.
God lets us choose anyone we want, as long as they are Christians.

Woman Came out from the Man's Rib Apr 13, 2006 11:06 am
Mood: contemplative, 366 Views

The woman came out from the man's rib -

- not from the feet, to be stepped on.
- not from the head, to be superior.
- but from his side, to be equal.
- under the arm, to be protected
- at the heart's side, to be loved.

I Am Begging You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Apr 11, 2006 6:34 pm
Mood: eager, 581 Views

Most of us here on the Blogs seem to have at least one marriage in our past, and we are here hoping to find love again. Please picture me on my knees as I say this, because I am there emotionally. I want to humbly beg each and every one of you to PLEASE not settle for anything less than EVERYTHING that you are looking for. Don't get tired of waiting. Don't listen to the devil's lie that no one is going to come along who is perfect for you. Don't give into the temptation to get married just so you aren't lonely. DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!!!!

I would rather be single for the rest of my life than to settle for less than God's best for me. I am a child of the King. I am a princess. I have worked hard for years at allowing Him to change me into a wife that a man would be proud to call his. I refuse to throw all of God's hard work down the drain. I will hold out for as long as it takes for Him to bring me HIS choice for my husband.

I AM BEGGING YOU TO LET HIM DO THE SAME FOR YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Decide What You Want in a Spouse Before You Start!!!!!!!!!! Apr 11, 2006 1:07 pm
Mood: contemplative, 689 Views

When God first started telling me that He wanted me to get married again, He pointed out the qualities that He wanted me to look for in the men who crossed my path. He did not want me to waste lots of time, energy and emotion on men who weren't right for me. I made a list of those traits He wanted me to look for. If a man does not meet all these requirements, then I am not to meet him in person and I am to remove him from the "possibilities" list in my head.

Here is the list that He gave me:

1. He loves the Lord more than he does anything else in His life.
2. The Lord’s will is his will. He is totally committed to doing what God wants him to do. He does not go his own way in any area of his life.
3. He is Spirit-filled.
4. He is in full-time ministry or called to full-time ministry.
5. He shares my vision for ministry.
6. He is not a new Christian.
7. He is committed to celibacy until marriage. He is willing to go as far as I am before marriage when it comes to physical intimacy – holding hands, hugging, kissing on the lips, but no necking.
8. He is a man of honor and integrity.
9. I find him physically attractive.
10. We get along well.

I urge each of you to make your own list and stick to it as you navigate the treacherous waters of dating. It won't be the same as mine, but that is okay. Just know what you are looking for and dismiss those who don't measure up to it. You will save yourself lots of heartache and wasted time if you do.

Be blessed!
