God uses broken things. It takes broken soil to produce a crop, broken clouds to give rain, broken grain to give bread, broken bread to give strength. It is the broken alabaster box that gives forth perfume. It is Peter, weeping bitterly, who returns to greater power than ever. - Vance Havner
Thank you, Lord, that you specialize in using broken things!

This Is Not a Christian Website!!!!!!!!!!

I read a comment from another good Christian person today who is ready to leave Big Church, like I did for a while, because it is not the Christian website that she thought it was. Let me share with you what the Lord told me after I quit coming here.
I quit because of the men who kept wanting to engage in cybersex with me on IM here, the men who kept approaching me wanting to scam me and the people on the blogs who are promoting false doctrine. I was allowing junk to get into my spirit from this website and it was affecting me spiritually. I was getting depressed and oppressed. I thought the answer was to leave Big Church. That made sense to me, anyway. That way I wouldn't have to worry about any of that junk getting into me anymore.
The sad part was that I had been used by the Lord here at Big Church. I had led people to the Lord here, encouraged people and helped them be set free from bondages. All good stuff! I was very sad to leave Big Church, but I thought I had no choice. The Lord doesn't want me to be letting evil flood my spirit like it was, that is for sure.
Well, while I was gone for those couple of weeks, the Lord spoke to me and told me that Big Church is not a Christian website, it is a mission field! It is a place just like so many places that appear to be Christian but really aren't - like our country, some of our churches, etc. He asked me - if all the Christians leave then who will witness to the others? If all of the strong Christians leave, who will be influencing the weaker ones?
He gave me some ways to safeguard myself against the evil here so that I could come back and continue with my friendships and ministry here and still be safe from most of the junk that He doesn't want getting into my spirit. I no longer approach men here. I don't go on IM unless I have a prearranged meeting time with someone I know, I don't go to the blogs of the people here who I know are perpetuating false doctrines and I have blocked those same people from commenting on my blog.
I have been back at Big Church for a couple of weeks now, and I am very happy. I don't have to put up with the junk I was before and I am having a great time! I have been able to minister to people, spread His Word and interact with my friends. It has been great!
So, I would like to encourage any Christian who is thinking of not continuing here at Big Church to rethink that decision! Are there changes that you can make to your activities here at Big Church or to your profile that will safeguard you against our enemy's schemes and still allow you to be here for fellowship and to minister to the Lord? If you can, I would encourage you to stay. Like the Lord asked me, I will ask you - if all the Christians leave then who will witness to the others? If all of the strong Christians leave, who will be influencing the weaker ones? Think about it, okay?
Mat 11:12 "And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force."
Isa 59:19 "So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him."

Are We Thankful for Everything?

In 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, the Word says,
"Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."
This is such a powerful verse. It will take at least three posts to dissect this one, but the part I want to ask about here is the last part. Are we thankful in all circumstances? We should be. The Word says that this is God's will for us. It is not just a cute idea or a nice suggestion. It is the very will of God for us!
What does it mean to be thankful in all circumstances? It seems pretty self-explanatory, doesn't it? But our human mind has a hard time wrapping itself around that phrase "in all circumstances", doesn't it?
We don't have a problem being thankful for the good things that come our way, but what about the bad? Are we thankful when our spouse cheats on us? Are we thankful when our child is involved in drugs? Are we thankful when we lose our job? Are we thankful when people say evil, untrue things about us? Are we thankful when someone we love dies? Those are included in the "all circumstances" that this is talking about.
If we will turn our thinking around to embrace this Biblical principle of being thankful in all circumstances, our Christian walks would be totally transformed! Do you realize that when we aren't thankful that we give Satan glory? That we make him happy? When we aren't thankful, we are telling God that we don't trust Him. We are saying that He doesn't do all things well. Being thankful in everything causes the enemy to flee and releases God to work in our situation. Thankfulness is one of the most powerful spiritual weapons we have. I suggest that we pray that God gives each of us a thankful heart unto Him!

Are We Willing to Pay the Price to Be Sanctified?

"May the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely..." 1 Thess. 5:23
To be sanctified means to be set apart for God's use. Many of us want to be used by God, but are we willing to pay the price in order for Him to be able to use us? Sanctified Christians are not permitted to go many places that normal Christians go. They can't do things that normal Christians do. To be sanctified requires that we turn our affections from earthly things and even relationships to heavenly ones. Sanctification means that we recognize that we have been bought with a price and we are not our own. We are willing to become living sacrifices - dead to our own wants and desires and alive to God's. Only those who have allowed God to sanctify them will be used greatly by God. I don't know about anyone else, but I say that everyday is a good day to die more to myself so that I can live more for God and His purposes!

I Am Done Looking for a Man!

When I first joined Big Church a few months ago, I was here to meet men. I was looking for a husband and I was really hoping that I would find him here. Many men have contacted me, and I have contacted many men since I joined. I guess I have met all kinds - the good, the bad, the ugly (inside). I have been proposed to many times, but turned each one down. None of them were the one God wanted me to be with. I have had it, though, with looking for a man. I have spent way too much time on it. I need to move on and concentrate on the things the Lord wants me to be doing, namely my ministry here in my home. I told the Lord that if He wants me to have a man that He is going to have to bring him to me because I am not searching anymore. I am at total peace now. I believe the Lord will bring me a man, but now I am just not wasting my human energy and time on it. It is in His hands. I will wait upon Him.
