I just want to tell everyone here that I appreciate you so much. Every time I open a post, I feel like I am opening a present from a loved one! I feel like I get to have Christmas every day here! Now, I don't like every post, just like I don't like every present I receive, but I still appreciate the thought, time and energy it took to present it to me. Thank you all and keep them coming! Be blessed in Him!

AM I CARNALLY MINDED?
|

“Where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal…?" (1 Corinthians 3:3). The natural man, or unbeliever, knows nothing about carnality. The desires of the flesh warring against the Spirit, and the Spirit warring against the flesh, which began at rebirth, are what pro-duce carnality and the awareness of it. But Paul said, “Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh” (Galatians 5:16). In other words, carnality will disappear.
Are you quarrelsome and easily upset over small things? Do you think that no one who is a Christian is ever like that? Paul said they are, and he connected these attitudes with carnality. Is there a truth in the Bible that instantly awakens a spirit of malice or resent-ment in you? If so, that is proof that you are still carnal. If the process of sanctification is continuing in your life, there will be no trace of that kind of spirit remaining.
If the Spirit of God detects anything in you that is wrong, He doesn’t ask you to make it right; He only asks you to accept the light of truth, and then He will make it right. A child of the light will confess sin instantly and stand completely open before God. But a child of the darkness will say, “Oh, I can explain that.” When the light shines and the Spirit brings conviction of sin, be a child of the light. Confess your wrongdoing, and God will deal with it. If, however, you try to vindicate yourself, you prove yourself to be a child of the darkness.
What is the proof that carnality has gone? Never deceive yourself; when carnality is gone you will know—it is the most real thing you can imagine. And God will see to it that you have a number of opportunities to prove to yourself the miracle of His grace. The proof is very practical test. You will find yourself saying, “If this had happened before, I would have had the spirit of resentment!” And you will never cease to be the most amazed person on earth at what God has done for you the inside.

Let's Let God Be God!

It would be really frustrating to watch a blind person refuse to be helped to do something he couldn't do on his own, wouldn't it? How crazy would that be if a sighted person was right there beside him, offering his help, but the blind man stubbornly just kept refusing his help, saying, "I can do it myself! I can do it myself!" How sad would that be?
Isn't that the same thing that we do, though? Why is it that we refuse to let the Lord do things for us that we can't do ourselves? Why do we keep trying to do things on our own, even though we mess up terribly?
I can't make myself not sin, I can't forgive the unforgivable, I can't love the unlovely. He can do all those things through me, though, and so much more if I let Him.
So, my prayer for myself and everyone who reads this is that we will let God be God in our lives, that we will stop trying to do the things we can't do and will let Him do them for us. I pray this in the name that is above every name, not only in this age, but also in the one to come, Christ Jesus! Amen!

ENOUGH OF THE PUKER!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, I try to be longsuffering. I try to understand and be compassionate. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt. However, I have had enough! There is no reason for me to take abuse here at Big Church. I have had a good experience since coming back to Big Church, and I am not going to let one person ruin that for me. Therefore I have decided to permanently block the person who keeps leaving the "Puke" emoticons on everyone's posts. This person is just being childish and mean. I believe he may be mentally ill. I don't care what everyone else does, but I, for one, have had enough of this childishness. I am not going to reinforce this behavior by commenting on it anymore or even acknowledging that he exists here at Big Church. My prayer is that he will come to a saving knowledge of our Lord and will allow Him to heal his hurts and pain. I pray God's very best for him. I just don't want him on my blog! Sorry![/B]

Why Is It So Hard to Forgive Others?

Jesus was perfect. He never did one single thing to harm any person, EVER! However, He was scoffed at, rediculed, beaten, hung on a cross and killed. What did He say in response to all of this torture? "Father, forgive them..." Luke 23:34
And I don't think it was just those who physically did those things that He was asking forgiveness for. I believe each one of us made it necessary for those things to be done to Him, and He was asking the Father to forgive us all. He was "...wounded for our transgressions, [he was] bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace [was] upon him; and with his stripes we are healed." Isaiah 53:5
If He forgave us for hurting and killing him, who was perfect, how can we who are so imperfect not forgive others? No wonder the Lord says "And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses." Mar 11:25
If you have something against someone today, please forgive them. You will set your self free as well as the other person. If you can't do it on your own, ask God to do it through you. He will. He is faithful!
Be blessed!

O Lord, Make Me an Instrument of Thy Peace!

"O Lord, make me an instrument of Thy Peace! Where there is hatred, let me sow love; Where there is injury, pardon; Where there is discord, harmony; Where there is doubt, faith; Where there is despair, hope; Where there is darkness, light, and Where there is sorrow, joy. Oh Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love; for it is in giving that we receive; It is in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life." - Francis of Asssisi
Almost a millenium later, this prayer is still so relevant and so necessary to be prayed! Lord, help us to desire for You to put these characteristics within us! In Christ's name, Amen!

Self-Esteem Is Not Important!

I had a horrible childhood. I had no self-esteem. I still don't! But I have something today that many people don't have, something that is more valuable than all the self-esteem in the world - that is God esteem! He doesn't want us to have "self" anything anyway, so don't worry about self-esteem.
He has taught me that I don't need the approval of another living soul. I only need His approval. He has taught me who I am in Him, how much He loves me and to trust in Him alone. He taught me to dwell in His presence and that all my problems melt away there. He has taught me so many wonderful things. Now I am a secure, joyful, confident woman of Him because of the awesome things He has done in my life. You know what the best part is? He is not a respecter of persons - He will do the same for anyone who asks Him to! Isn't that awesome?!
Lord, my prayer is for each person who reads this post that You will teach them the difference between self-esteem and God-esteem, strip them of the need for the former and give them a huge dose of the latter! In the most precious and holy name of our Lord and Savior, Amen!
Be blessed in Him!

Lord, Let Me Die a Good Death!

God alone is in control of how and when we die. Not even a sparrow falls to the ground in death without Him knowing it, right? I am not as concerned with how I die as I am with how much glory God gets from it. The American Indian men used to (they may still) hope that a good death would find them. That is my prayer, too. I pray that my death will be used as an evangelistic tool in the Lord's hands. I pray that He will soften people's hearts and draw many into His kingdom because of my death. I pray that my death will have meaning, not just be a putting away of this tent I reside in. In Jesus' name, Amen!
