I Must Leave Big Church!!!!!!! Jun 20, 2006 1:58 pm
Mood: sad, 1723 Views
It really hurts me to say this - I have enjoyed my time here at Big Church, but it is time to leave now.

I thought that I wanted to stay after I got married because I have friends here and I enjoy reading what other people have to say. It used to be that there were a few people who bought into false doctrines and New Age thinking here in Blogland, but most people were strong, believers in Christ Jesus who adhered to the Bible and the Bible alone for their teaching. That no longer appears to be the case. Many of the more popular bloggers now seem to be too ecumenical in their beliefs for me. They seem to think that it is okay to believe in teachings of other religions as well as Christianity. This is very wrong. The Bible is very clear that we should not take part in any other religion except Christianity.

When I first started blogging, it was to come against the teaching of Universalism. Now New Age teachings and false doctrines are coming from many people instead of just a couple. It seems to me that these people are taking over here at Big Church, and I have no desire to be here any longer.

I used to have the time and energy to come against this kind of baloney, but I don't anymore. I am married and have too many other responsibilities. I am glad to see that there are people here who still adhere to the Truth and who can take up the battle for righteousness here. It just can't be me any longer.

I am not talking about everyone here at Big Church, so don't think that I am automatically talking about you, okay? You need to examine yourself to see if you are in the Faith. That is not my job.

Before I remove my profile in a couple of days, I wanted to say how grateful I am to anyone who gave me words of encouragement while I have been here. I want to say thank you for all the prayers that have been said for me by people here. I want to say thank you for all of the people who have become my friends here. I appreciate so many of you. I also want to thank all of the people here who adhere to the Truth and wish to continue in this battlefield. I pray God's richest blessings upon you.

Take care, Everyone!

In What Ways Does God Discipline Us? Jun 16, 2006 1:56 pm
Mood: curious, 1227 Views
In the passage below, the Word talks about how God disciplines and corrects His children. How has God disciplined you? In what ways does He discipline His children in general?

Hebrews 12:5-19
My son, do not think lightly or scorn to submit to the correction and discipline of the Lord, nor lose courage and give up and faint when you are reproved or corrected by Him;
6 For the Lord corrects and disciplines everyone whom He loves, and He punishes, even scourges, every son whom He accepts and welcomes to His heart and cherishes.
7 You must submit to and endure [correction] for discipline; God is dealing with you as with sons. For what son is there whom his father does not [thus] train and correct and discipline?
8 Now if you are exempt from correction and left without discipline in which all [of God's children] share, then you are illegitimate offspring and not true sons [at all]. [Prov 3:11,12.]
9 Moreover, we have had earthly fathers who disciplined us and we yielded [to them] and respected [them for training us]. Shall we not much more cheerfully submit to the Father of spirits and so [truly] live?
10 For [our earthly fathers] disciplined us for only a short period of time and chastised us as seemed proper and good to them; but He disciplines us for our certain good, that we may become sharers in His own holiness.
11 For the time being no discipline brings joy, but seems grievous and painful; but afterwards it yields a peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it [a harvest of fruit which consists in righteousness — in conformity to God's will in purpose, thought, and action, resulting in right living and right standing with God].

Why Don't We See More Miracles in the Church Today? Jun 16, 2006 12:14 pm
Mood: contemplative, 1361 Views
I think there may be a few reasons why we don't see more miracles in the Church today than we do:

1. People are not willing to pay the price for the anointing. Salvation is free. However, we need to be really surrendered to the Lord continually to be used greatly by Him, I think.

2. People don't care enough about others to see them set free from bondage or healed of their diseases to learn how to get God's power in their lives to do those things for people.

3. We are too wrapped up in our own lives to worry about what God wants us to be doing.

4. We don't understand that God wants to use all of us to minister to others. People tend to think, I believe, that God only uses a select few ministers to do things in His kingdom, not all Christians.

5. We don't have enough faith to believe God for miracles.

Do you agree with these reasons? Can you think of other reasons?

I pray that the Lord will restore His gifts to His church in this country. I pray that He will kick us out of our lukewarmness so that we are willing to do whatever it takes to have His anointing upon our lives. I pray that He will begin this work with me. Amen!

Do You Believe in Suing Others? Jun 16, 2006 10:19 am
1405 Views
As a Christian I don't believe in suing people. There have been many times in the past when I could have sued a person or business but didn't because I believe that Christians should allow God to repay those who do things wrong to us.

Am I wrong? Is suing people Biblical? Is it okay is some instances but not others? I would really like to know your thoughts on this.

Thanks!
Suing others is always wrong.
If someone does something wrong, Christians have the right to sue them.
It is okay to sue companies but not individuals.
Other. (Please explain)

Bible Study - Humility (Part 1) Jun 15, 2006 2:17 pm

HUMILITY

What is true humility?

"Humility is not denying the power or gifting you have, but admitting that the gifting is from God and the power comes through you and not from you." - unknown author

“True humility is (making) a right estimate of one’s self. - Charles Spurgeon

Jesus Is Our Example

We are always to strive to be like Christ was while He was on this earth. That should always be our goal. Jesus was the humblest man who ever lived. He emptied Himself out and only did the Father’s will while He was here, but He still told the Truth about Himself. Some saw His claims about Himself as pride, arrogance and even blasphemy, but they were none of that. Christ was simply stating the Truth and one can state good things about themselves and still be humble. Humility is not denying our talents and gifts from God. It is not claiming that we are nothing.

What Jesus Said about Himself

Matthew 11:27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.

John 6:51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

John 10:9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

John 10:30 I and my Father are one.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

How Jesus Practiced Humility

Philippians 2:5-11 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of [things] in heaven, and [things] in earth, and [things] under the earth; and [that] every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ [is] Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Mat 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

John 5:19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

John 5:30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

John 5:41 I receive not honour from men.

John 6:38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.

John 7:16 Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.

John 7:28 Then cried Jesus in the temple as he taught, saying, Ye both know me, and ye know whence I am: and I am not come of myself, but he that sent me is true, whom ye know not.

John 8:28 Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am [he], and [that] I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.

John 8:50 And I seek not mine own glory: there is one that seeketh and judgeth.

John 14:10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

John 14:24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.

If The Person Isn't the One, Say Good-bye!!!!!!!!! Jun 14, 2006 8:13 pm
Mood: thoughtful, 1317 Views
When I first started dating after my divorce, my sister gave me an invaluable piece of advice. She told me not to spend too much time in a relationship if I knew the man was not the one the Lord wanted me to marry. She said that if I stayed in the relationship that I would run the risk of marrying him just because we grew on each other or for some other reason, only to realize after the wedding that I had made a huge mistake.

I cannot tell you how wise that advice was! There were a couple of men that I met that I may have married if I had hung around them long enough just because they were there. What a huge mistake that would have been! My whole life would have been ruined in either case! Instead I took her advice to heart and, as soon as I realized a man was not the one for me, I ended the relationship.

Because I did that, I was unattached when the Lord brought the man of my life to me. I didn't settle for less than the Lord wanted for me, and I am so glad I didn't.

So, I am begging you to consider taking the same advice that my sister gave me. If you realize that a man or woman is not the one for you, end the relationship. You will not regret doing it, believe me!

This also applies when the other person feels that you should remain friends but you feel stronger about that person. If they have determined in their heart that you are not the one for them to marry, even if you don't feel that way, end the relationship. If you don't, that person may decide to marry you without really loving you and then feel that they have made a huge mistake. Is that what you want to happen? I don't think so.

Of course, I am not talking about people that you meet where each of you realize that you aren't meant to marry each other and you both agree to just be friends. I am talking about a relationship where you are considering a person as a potential mate.

Just my thoughts...

Be blessed!

Why Do Women Go to the Bathroom in Herds? Jun 13, 2006 8:14 pm
Mood: curious, 1453 Views
This is a question that I have always wondered about - why is it when women are at a restaurant, etc., they always go to the bathroom in herds but men never do? You will never hear a man say, "Hey, Bud, I have to hit the can. You care to join me?" LOL! Just wondering if anyone had a clue...

Beastmster - Enough Is Enough!!!!!!!! Jun 12, 2006 6:17 am
Mood: annoyed, 1297 Views
Dear Beastmster,

I just wrote a post, Speaking the Truth in Love.. It is now time to put into practice what I said there about speaking the truth in love. I pray I do this right.

You have been staying away from my blog, so I didn't really have much to say to you. You have begun visiting my blog and leaving comments that I had to delete because they were irrelevant or they attacked other people here. So, I guess it is time for me to address you directly.

I suggest you go back and reread my post, Speaking the Truth in Love.. There is a way to say the things that you say without sinning. I believe that you are a Christian, but you are not being very Christ-like and that means that people are not going to pay attention to what you say as much as they should because of the way you say it.

A Christian should never attack another person. That is not right. Someone should never go away from an encounter with you feeling like they have just been beaten up or verbally abused. If they do, then you are sinning, no matter what you think of them.

You have a lot of good things to say. I like your stand against allowing false teachings to enter the Church. I have written against the same thing. I would love to support you in your campaign, but I can't because of the way you are presenting yourself! I hate false doctrine, but I hate even worse when one person hurts another. That violates the #2 of only two that Christ gave us to follow - love your neighbor as yourself. Is that what your intention is? I hope not.

You seem not to care how God wants you to act. What is Christianity all about? It is about doing God's will and not our own. You are just as wrong as people who bring false teachings into the church if you follow your will instead of God's. You are no better than them.

My prayer for you is that you will repent of the harm you have done here and ask people's forgiveness and start over. If you don't do that, my prayer is that you will leave Big Church and go somewhere else to hurt people. I would hate to see you leave because your teachings are important, but they loose much of their impact because of the way you treat others.

I have tried to talk to you in private about this as have others here, and you wouldn't listen. So, now I feel that it is time to make this public, since you are sinning in public. I hope that doing this helps you. I pray that it will.

Love in Christ,
Jean
