Flowers From Jesus--I AM Loved!!! Feb 14, 2008 2:47 am
Mood: Satisfied In His Love, 674 Views
So, today's Valentine's Day, I pray it is blessed for each of you, but I don't like it. This is my 11th Valentine's Day single. OK, the first 10 were my choice, but this is the first one, being single AND available. The reason I don't like it, is because it is one of the few days, (and New Year's Eve) that I feel lonely. One of those few days when everyone is coupled up, and I'm left to be alone. One of those few days when I'm not excited about everyone around me getting gifts, lol.

I was talking to God about it recently, of course He knows how I feel. I tried to hold back my tears, as I usually don't allow myself to cry, but to no avail. "Am I not loveable?", I asked God. He responded with, "I love you." Well, I know that, and 363 days a year, that's enough for me, but on this day, I feel myself lacking in love.

As we continued to discuss it, I felt a sense of comfort, coming into my heart, isn't it just like our Loving Father, to care for our sadness and lonliness? He is SO awesome, and I began to tell Him how deeply I love Him, and praised Him and thanked Him for all that He is to me. Then, I heard the strangest words come into my thoughts, now I know and recognize the voice of the Holy Spirit, but I have to say that I've never entertained the suggestion that came into my thoughts.

Believe me, I thought long and hard before writing this, as I knew there would be some of you thinking I was out of my mind, or perhaps just imagining things, but this is what I heard the Holy Spirit say:

Go out and get the most beautiful flowers you can find. Then, get a card and fill it out, this is what it should say, "To Terrie, From Jesus, because I love you so much." What??? I even said it out loud, "What???" Although, I really didn't need confirmation, as I said, I recognize that voice, but I was surprised to hear such a silly suggestion. Yes, I thought it was silly.

But, in my obedience, I stopped on my way home yesterday, and got the most beautiful roses I could find, and filled out the card as I was instructed to, brought them home, and put them in a vase. As soon as I looked at them, another thought came to mind. With all the clients coming to my house these days, each time someone asks me about my beautiful flowers, I'll have the opportunity to share Jesus. What a blessing! You can see them in the pic, aren't they gorgeous? The Lover of my soul wanted me to have them, and you know what? It really feels like a gift from Him, and look, He even knows my fav color, they're purple, lol.

Thank you Jesus, for loving me so much. Thank you for filling me to overflowing, with your joy, thank you for the assurance of knowing I am precious to you, and that no man could ever love me as you do. Thank you that everything I need can be found in your wonderful love. Happy Valentine's Day Lord!

I wish you all a Happy Valentine's Day, and if you're like me, and you struggle with this day, consider for a few moments, how deeply Jesus loves you. Meditate on all He has sacrificed for your good. Contemplate the fact that you are not alone today, He will NEVER leave you, nor forsake you. Spend the day with the Lover of your soul, draw near to Him and He will draw near to you.

In The Storms, Go To The Throne, Not The Phone Feb 13, 2008 4:26 am
Mood: In His Presence, 518 Views
Sometimes in life, the storms come for no obvious reason. We can do all that we know to do which is right, and still they come. Then, other times, we mess up and do something we know not to do, and the storms come. It seems the only time the storms come is when we do right and when we do wrong. That pretty much covers anytime, lol. But, what we do IN the storms, determines how long we remain in them. There is one sure way to handle the storms in life.

Go to the Throne of God's Grace

Many of us go to the phone when something difficult happens, it's natural to want our friends and loved ones to comfort and reassure us when trials occur. And to know that someone is on our side and empathizes with our dilema. But what can they REALLY do to change the circumstances? Yes, they can pray for us, they can tell us the things we want to hear, but alas, the storms remain.

When we go to the Throne of Grace, all that we need can be found there. I mean EVERYTHING!!! The peace that passes understanding, the strength to endure the trial, the confidence in knowing that He is greater than our battle, and in complete control. He will give us rest from the struggle, refuge in His loving arms, and the guidance to know what our part is in fighting the particular storm we are in. The weapons of our warfare are spiritual. Praise and thanksgiving are weapons, walking in love is a powerful weapon.

And let the peace (soul harmony which comes) from Christ rule, act as umpire continually in your hearts; deciding and settling with finality, all questions that arise in your minds, in that peaceful state...And be thankful, appreciative, giving praise to God always.
Colossians 3:15

You are waging spiritual warfare when you give radical praise to God in the midst of your need and lack. I know, it seems ridiculous to be grateful, when our hearts are broken, when we're stressed and anxious, but that's when we need the weapon of praise the most. When you are thankful to God for all He HAS done and IS doing, you are defeating the enemy. Taking your focus off the situation, and focusing on God's awesome lovingkindness, will produce joy right there where you are. And, when you hold your peace in the midst of the storm, you are warring with spiritual weapons. (see 2 Corinthians 10:4-5).

Jesus NEVER said there would be no trials, as a matter of fact, He guaranteed us that they would come. But He said to cheer up, because He has already overcome them.

Jesus said, "Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you...Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled"
John 14:27

Could He have said it any clearer? Jesus has given you peace! Put it on, and wear it everywhere you go.

Stand Firmly in His Strength!

When you don't know what else to do, or the answer hasn't come, STAND FIRMLY. Just remain in His presence. Consider the many times He has brought you THROUGH the valley of the shadow of death before.

Earnestly remember the former things, [which I did] of old; for I am God, and there is no one else; I am God, and there is none like Me, declaring the end and the result from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure and purpose.
Isaiah 46:9-10

There may be times when it seems that you cannot go forward, but at least you do not have to go backward. You may not know how to forge ahead, but you can stand firmly on what you know of God.

Instead of passively yielding to the storm, you can say, "This is the ground I have gained, and I am not giving it up, devil. You are not driving me back into the hole that God pulled me out of. I am going to stand strong in the power of God until He delivers me."

Submit Yourself to God

Submission means surrendering our will to Him. To subject ourselves and our situation to His purpose, with a trust and assurance that our times are in His hands.

My soul, wait only upon God and silently submit to Him; for my hope and expectation are from Him.
Psalm 62:5

James 4:v 7-8 gives the best advice on how to deal with the storms: "Be subject to God. Resist the devil, stand firm against him, and he will flee from you. Come close to God and He will come close to you."

When you humble yourself in the presence of the Lord, He will exalt you and lift you and make your life significant (see vv. 9-10). God will show you how to weather the storms. Spend time in God's presence, you will find all that you need to endure and conquer the storms in life.

Calling All Aunts & Uncles-Little Billy says "Hi" Feb 12, 2008 4:53 am
Mood: Anxious To Meet You!, 666 Views
Now that I'm 8 weeks old, and have already outgrown all of my size 3 months clothes, I felt I was big enough to get to know all my relatives here at bc. My daddy says there are many of you here that love me.

I was so happy to meet racefan, and Mommy let me look at all her racecars, I just wanted to open them up and play with them, lol. But, I'm anxious to meet all of you, when are you coming by to visit?

Babyhood is wonderful and God has given me some really great parents. My Mommy loves to sing to me and she dances all over the place with me in her arms. That tends to make me so content, I just fall asleep.

Daddy has this thing he does, when I get a little fussy. He clucks at me like a chicken, it's actually very funny, and his silly noises always entertain me. Next thing I know, I'm not fussing anymore, I'm laughing, lol. Daddy is really funny, you know.

Well, it's time for my nap now, I just wanted to say "hi" to all of you. I have a time capsule Daddy and Mommy have made for me, with all your cards and well wishes. It will be so neat to look at all of them when I grow up.

So, thank you all for loving me, and praying for me, please keep praying for my Mommy, as she's not getting alot of sleep, and for Daddy too, he works so hard to take care of us all.

Nitey Nite and God bless you all!

Little Billy

PS There's more pics in racefan's albums, so go by her page and check me out.

Evidence of Pharoah's Chariots Found In the Red Sea Feb 12, 2008 4:15 am
Mood: Amazed, 609 Views
I received this email (thanks Kev) and found it intriguing, as I'm always looking for scientific evidence to substantiate the Bible. Not for my own confirmation, I know the Bible in the inerrant Word of God, but for the lost, in hopes that proof will cause them to reconsider their beliefs. The pic is of one of the gold wheeels found.

Chariot Wheels found at the bottom of the Red Sea.
Book of Exodus, chapter 14

Proof of Pharaoh's chariots and bones of horses and men found in the Red Sea. Evidence of the crossing of the Red Sea - Pharaoh's drowned army.

Confirmation of the actual Exodus route has come from divers finding coral-encrusted bones and chariot remains in the Gulf of Aqaba .

ONE of the most dramatic records of Divine intervention in history is the account of the Hebrews' exodus from Egypt.

The subsequent drowning of the entire Egyptian army in the Red Sea was not an insignificant event, and confirmation of this event is compelling evidence that the Biblical narrative is truly authentic.

Over the years, many divers have searched the Gulf of Suez in vain for artifacts to verify the Biblical account. But carefully following the Biblical and historical records of the Exodus, brings you to Nuweiba, a large beach in the Gulf of Aqaba , as Ron Wyatt discovered in 1978.

Repeated dives in depths ranging from 60 to 200 feet deep (18m to 60m), over a stretch of almost 2.5 km, has shown that the chariot parts are scattered across the sea bed. Artifacts found include wheels, chariot bodies, as well as human and horse bones. Divers have located wreckage on the Saudi coastline opposite Nuweiba as well.

Since 1987, Ron Wyatt found three four-spoke gilded chariot wheels. Coral does not grow on gold, hence the shape has remained very distinct, although the wood inside the gold veneer has disintegrated making them too fragile to move.

The hope for future expeditions is to explore the deeper waters with remote cameras or mini-subs.
Mute witness to the miracle of the crossing of the Red Seaby the Hebrews 3,500 years ago. This was found with a metal detector.

Coral-encrusted chariot wheel, filmed off the Saudi coastline, matches chariot wheels found in Tutankhamen's tomb.

Mineralized bone, one of many found at the crossing site. Theyhave been tested by the Department of Osteology at Stockholm University , was found to be a human femur, from the right leg of a 165-170cm tall man. It is essentially 'fossilized, ' i.e., replaced by minerals and coral, hence cannot be dated by radiocarbon methods, although this specimen was obviously from antiquity. Also found, chariot wheel and axle covered with coral and up-ended.
Exodus 14:25 'And took off their chariot wheels, that they drave them heavily...'

Solomon's Memorial Pillars

When Ron Wyatt first visited Nuweiba in 1978, he found a Phoenician style column lying in the water. Unfortunately the inscriptions had been eroded away, hence the column's importance was not understood until 1984 when a second granite column was found on the Saudi coastline opposite where the first was found. Identical to the first, except on this one the inscription was still intact!

In Phoenician letters (Archaic Hebrew), it contained the words: Mizraim (Egypt); Solomon; Edom; death; Pharaoh; Moses; and Yahweh,
indicating that King Solomon had set up these columns as a memorial to the miracle of the crossing of the sea.
Saudi Arabia does not admit tourists, and perhaps fearing unauthorized visitors, the Saudi Authorities have since removed this column, and replaced it with a flag marker where it once stood.

How deep is the water?

The Gulf of Aqaba is very deep, in places over a mile (1,600m). Even with the sea dried up, walking across would be difficult due to the steep grade down the sides. But there is one spot where if the water were removed, it would be an easy descent for people and animals. This is the line between Nuweiba and the opposite shore in Saudi Arabia .

Depth-sounding expeditions have revealed a smooth, gentle slope descending from Nuweiba out into the Gulf. This shows up almost like a pathway on depth-recording equipment, confirming it's Biblical description, "...a way in the sea, and a path in the mighty waters." (Isaiah 3:16)

The Bible writers frequently refer to the miracle of the Red Sea crossing, for it was an event which finds no equal in history. The Hebrew prophets describe the sea at the crossing site as "...the waters of the great deep...the depths of the sea..." (Isaiah 51:10)

Knowing the exact spot to which the Bible writers were referring, what is the depth there? The distance between Nuweiba and where artifacts have been found on Saudi coast is about 18km (11 miles).

Along this line, the deepest point is about 800m (2,600 feet). No wonder that Inspired writers of the Bible described it as the mighty waters.
And no wonder that not a single Egyptian survived when the water collapsed in upon them.

Very interesting indeed.

New Pastor Choices--You Decide Feb 11, 2008 3:32 pm
Mood: Hmmmmmmm, 431 Views
Prospective Pastors

The following is a confidential report on several candidates being considered for a pastorate. The choices are many, however the redeeming qualities are few. Perhaps the last one on the list would be the best choice, what do you think?

Adam: Good man but problems with his wife. Also one reference told of how his wife and he enjoy walking nude in the woods.

Noah: Former pastorate of 120 years with not even one convert. Prone to unrealistic building projects.

Joseph: A big thinker, but a braggart, believes in dream-interpreting, and has a prison record.

Moses: A modest and meek man, but poor communicator, even stuttering at times. Sometimes blows his stack and acts rashly. Some say he left an earlier church over a murder charge.

David: The most promising leader of all until we discovered the affair he had with his neighbor's wife.

Solomon: Great preacher but our parsonage would never hold all those wives.

Elijah: Prone to depression. Collapses under pressure.

Elisha: Reported to have lived with a single widow while at his former church.

Hosea: A tender and loving pastor but our people could never handle his wife's occupation.

Deborah: Strong leader and seems to be anointed, but she is female. (God forbid!)

Jeremiah: Emotionally unstable, alarmist, negative, always lamenting things, reported to have taken a long trip to bury his underwear on the bank of a foreign river.

Isaiah: On the fringe? Claims to have seen angels in church. Has trouble with his language.

Jonah: Refused God's call into ministry until he was forced to obey by getting swallowed up by a great fish. He told us the fish later spit him out on the shore near here. We hung up.

Amos: Too backward and unpolished. With some seminary training he might have promise, but has a hang-up against wealthy people—might fit in better in a poor congregation.

Melchizedek: Great credentials at current work place, but where does this guy come from? No information on his resume about former work records. Every line about parents was left blank and he refused to supply a birth date.

John: Says he is a Baptist, but definitely doesn't dress like one. Has slept in the outdoors for months on end, has a weird diet, and provokes denominational leaders.

Peter: Too blue collar. Has a bad temper-even has been known to curse. Had a big run-in with Paul in Antioch. Aggressive, but a loose cannon.

Paul: Powerful CEO type leader and fascinating preacher. However, short on tact, unforgiving with younger ministers, harsh and has been known to preach all night.

James & John: Package deal preacher & associate seemed good at first, but found out they have an ego problem regarding other fellow workers and seating positions. Threatened an entire town after an insult. Also known to try to discourage workers who didn't follow along with them.

Timothy: Too young!. . .WAY too young!

Methuselah: Too old! . . . WAY too old!

Jesus: Has had popular times, but once his church grew to 5000 he managed to offend them all, and then this church dwindled down to twelve people. Seldom stays in one place very long. And, of course, he's single.

Judas: His references are solid. A steady plodder. Conservative. Good connections. Knows how to handle money. We're inviting him to preach this Sunday. Possibilities here.

A Church or a Cult--How You Can Tell Feb 11, 2008 4:26 am
Mood: Not Fooled!, 531 Views
A Cult is defined as, "A system of religious worship or ritual, devoted to an extravagant admiration for a person or principle." I define it as any doctrine or teaching not in complete agreement with the Holy Bible. But, how do you know when a particular is really a cult?

How Do I Recognize A Cult?

Practically every cult has certain characteristics that can tell the careful observer that something is wrong.

For instance, what does a group think about Jesus? Jesus Christ is God, Lord of all, the only source of salvation. Invariably, a cult will put something else on an equal footing with Christ. It will have a ritual that is equal to Christ, or it will have a doctrine equal to Christ, or it will have a leader who is equal to Christ. In other words, even if it acknowledges Christ as Savior, it will say that you need something else before you can get into heaven. Cults teach that salvation comes through Christ, plus their little unique way. Some cults do not acknowledge Christ at all. They may make Him coequal with their religious teachers or with certain great men of history. The quickest way to recognize a cult is by its treatment of Jesus.

Second, cults frequently attempt to instill fear into their followers. The followers are taught constantly that salvation comes only through the cult. "If you leave us, you will lose your salvation," they say.

The third area has to do with the exaltation of the leader of the cult. Cults often center around a man or woman who is trying to gain power, money, or influence from manipulating people. This appears to be the case in the Unification church with Sun Myung Moon. In the Children of God, Moses David Berg is an autocratic leader. In the People's Temple, Jim Jones drew attention to himself and asked his followers to die with him. A true leader who serves Jesus Christ has one goal, and that is to exalt and manifest Jesus. When someone says he has unique insight into God or is the special one that God has anointed to reach the world, you are dealing with cultic behavior.

A final mark of a cult is the unwillingness of the leaders to let the people grow up. A true shepherd will do everything he can to bring Christian people to maturity as quickly as he can. He will not seek to avoid necessary teaching, nor will he try to keep people from maturity. Many cults perpetuate spiritual dependence so that their followers lose the ability to make independent, rational decisions. Often techniques of brainwashing are used to create robot-like behavior.

Although there are other marks of cultic behavior, these seem to be the ones that stand out, the most common denominators. Some religions considered to be cults, are as follows:

Jehovah's Witness, Mormon, Hinduism, Hare Krishna, Unitarians, Scientology, New Age, and Unification Church (Moonies). There are also teachings that are often described as cultic, including Transcendental Meditation, Reincarnation, and Yoga. And, at the risk of being stoned, lol, I have also noted some experts citing Catholicism as a cult, (not my belief) because of it's rituals, praying to and worship of idols, confession of sin to a man, with that man determining your punishment, and man-made rules and regulations. I'm sure that is open to debate.

If someone approaches you with a teaching that does not include the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with the shed blood of Jesus, as the ONLY way to salvation, through grace, not works, refuse to accept it.

Got True Fulfillment?..............Want it? Feb 10, 2008 5:25 am
Mood: Fulfilled, 374 Views
The secret of true fulfillment has been defined by someone as the progressive accomplishing of worthwhile goals. Ancient theologians used the term summum bonum, which means "the greatest good." They believed that the greatest good was the spirit and soul which would allow them to come into the presence of God, to talk to Him, to see Him, to be with Him, and to serve Him. That was the ultimate fulfillment and the ultimate contentment.

When I was first saved, I was all about me. I, I, Me, Me. It was a long process to get to a place of surrendering my will, and serving Him, and not my own desires. It's an ongoing process, I wonder sometimes if I will ever REALLY attain it, lol.
I began to discover that the more of myself I could surrender to Him, the more content I felt. It was a great feeling, and something I had never experienced. But, as good as it felt to be content, there was still something missing. I couldn't quite pinpoint it. Then, in 2005, God called me to serve others in the ministry. I have now discovered that no greater joy can be found, than to have the awesome privilege of being part of God's Will. Now, I REALLY understand why Jesus washed the disciple's feet.

Now, I'm not talking about happiness. Happiness could be a cute puppy or a fire on a cold night. It could be the beach at dawn or going to a race, lol, or other things that people say would make them happy. It's fleeting and elusive, and dependent on many other variables, but the deep, deep fulfillment that transcends all else comes from knowing God and, in turn, from being known by Him. Fulfillment is communing with Him, hearing His voice, and knowing that the work you accomplish in life, whatever it is, is in fulfillment of His desire for you, resulting in service to His body. True fulfillment can be found in serving Him and serving others.

People are, by and large, satisfied and content when they are giving up themselves for something bigger than they are. Jesus spoke about such contentment in the beatitudes: Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of God. Blessed are they that mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called the sons of God (see Matthew 5:3-12).

There is great satisfaction that can be found in knowing for certain that your life is contributing, in a positive fashion, to His ultimate purposes. I think that is the greatest peace a person can have.

If you are fellowshipping with God and serving Him, peace and fulfillment will be there despite the circumstances. You can find true fulfillment as you surrender your will to Him and His perfect plan for you. I wish I could have discovered this truth 20 years ago. So much time wasted discontent and unhappy.

I Asked God, And He Said "No". Feb 9, 2008 11:43 am

And God Said No

I asked God to take away my pride, and God said, "No".
He said it was not for Him to take away, but for me to give up.

I asked God to make my handicapped child whole, and God said, "No".
He said her spirit is whole, her body is only temporary.

I asked God to grant me patience, and God said, "No".
He said that patience is a by-product of tribulation, it isn't granted, it's earned. (Amen)

I asked God to give me happiness, and God said, "No".
He said He gives blessings, happiness is up to me.

I asked God to spare me pain, and God said, "No".
He said, "Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares and brings you closer to me." (Amen again)

I asked God to make my spirit grow, and God said, "No".
He said I must grow on my own, but he would prune me to make me fruitful.

I asked God if He loved me, and God said, "Yes".
He gave me His only Son who died for me, and I will be in Heaven someday because I believe.

I asked God to help me love others, as much as He loves me.
And God said, "Ah, finally, you have the idea".

OK, So I'm Acting Out of My Flesh Feb 9, 2008 6:25 am

Pharisees in Today's Church and Bigchurch

There is rarely a scenario where I do not favor the underdog. I tend to be a cheeleader for those that are downtrodden, abused, mistreated, and forgotten. Perhaps this is why my flesh takes over when I witness injustice. Sometimes, my mouth gets out ahead of the Holy Spirit's reigns, when I watch the Pharisees mistreat the weak in spirit or the ignorant. This may be one of those times, forgive me.

Pharisees are people who have a set idea on what constitutes spirituality and may God have mercy on anyone who disagrees with them. Their version is the ONLY version. They are legalists. Their prayers are self-serving sermons. You can spot one immediately: a measuring stick in one hand, a pair of binoculars in the other, and a huge plank sticking out of one or both eyes.

A Pharisee knows little about love; they major in the law. They do not show much grace because they are such grumps, that self-appointed "Lone Ranger" of the public good. Often, they are bullies and love and grace are rarely displayed in their theology. In addition, they don't ever seem to have fun or laugh or enjoy life. Very few want their particular brand of religion.

The Pharisee is quick to judge and criticize, and are full of pride and self-righteousness. They want to hold people in the bondage of unrealistic expectations. This behavior is especially harmful for the new believer, as their spirituality is fragile and not completely developed. A Pharisee can knock the wind out of a baby Christian, with their judgement and condemnation. They should consider this:

Do not speak evil against one another, brothers. The one who speaks against a brother or judges his brother, speaks evil against the law and judges the law. But, if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law, but a judge. There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, He Who is able to save and to destroy. But, who are YOU to judge your neighbor?
James 4:11-12

The Pharisee so desperately wants to push their doctrines down the throats of others and enjoy stirring up strife. They spend their whole life checking the records and keeping score, and going into fainting spells at the sight of a Christian having a good time. Pharisees were always successful in Scouts because of their expertise at tying knots. Overkill is a Pharisee's secret to success. He hunts hummingbirds with nuclear missiles. He fishes for Bluegill with grenades.

Alexander Pope once wrote, "The worst of madmen is a saint gone mad!" I believe it! What Pharisees do to people and churches is sinful.

Matthew 15:3-9,12-14 - Jesus plainly described the sin of the Pharisees. The Pharisees were offended and Jesus' disciples told Him so. Did He apologize? No, he proceeded to call them blind guides and told the disciples not to follow them.

Matthew 23:15-17,27,28,33 - Jesus called the Pharisees hypocrites, sons of hell, blind guides, fools and blind, whited sepulchers, full of hypocrisy and iniquity, generation of vipers. "How shall you escape the damnation of hell?"

So, how do we handle the Pharisees? Ignore them, walk away, don't even let yourself be taken in by their criticism. Don't read their blogs, don't allow yourself to be bullied by their judgement and condemnation. Don't allow them to steal your joy or intimidate you.

Jesus said, "By this will all men know that you are mine, that you have love, one for another." If you see someone that never shows forth the fruit of love, run the other direction. We will know them by their fruit, if the fruit is rotten, or inconsistent with what Jesus taught, pay no heed.

I will also add, pray for them, because they will be judged harshly, as they have judged others.

Woe to the Pharisees!
