it didnt rain, then it did
a widows meal and oil didnt run out
he parted the waters with his cape
he REVIVED her son
he rained down fire from heaven
a raven fed him
Ok..
Was it Elijah actually doing these things?
He seemed to be ABLE to do what Jesus did.
Although now we have eternal life..
Jesus tells US.. you will do greater things than I, because I go to my father.
What did Elijah have that WE DONT POSSESS?
HE did many things PRIOR TO Jesus coming.
If he could DO those things, is Elijah God? Everyone says JEsus is God. Jesus SAYS we will do greater things than He, does that mean we are God if we do it? Jesus did those things Elijah did and more.. much more.
I cant part water, or revive life, or rain fire from heaven...or stretch food to make it neverending.. can I?
Yet, James and John asked Jesus a question that really blew me away.

MAL 3:10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
Would love for us to try this here. Find the biggest doubting thomas we have here.. a suspicous one.. let that person be able to put his/hand in Jesus wounds..
Who will testify to Gods greatness and wisdom.. and PROMISE he sent Jesus to teach us.
How in the world can he remove all the tears from our eyes if we wont let him?
We SAY... if God is with us, who can be against us..
we could really be victorious.. if we all band together.

REV 15:2 And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.
is that the same as saying overcame?
as in conquer?
There are two things going here.. one is joining in the worshipping of, and one is gaining victory over it.
If there is the possibility of having 'victory over' why must we worry?

how he fed 5000+ feel free to give your version please..

My question to the pastor was how did he feed 5000+. COLOR referrences, his blue, mine green in places where I wanted to comment.
Context. Jesus is teaching this multitude for a couple chapters. Matthew records several parables. Also within context John the Baptist is beheaded by Herod.
Here is the text. I'm using the New King James. You should be able to follow along with any translation. I'll teach from verse to verse the things that I want to point out.
Matt 14:13-15
taking from the text Matthew records that the Disciples discovered that there wasn't sufficient food because they wanted to send them into the villages to get something to eat.
Therefore, I persume that they didn't have much. But let's compare a parallel book to get a better understanding of what is happening.
In Mark 8:3 seems to be another occassion where 4,000 was fed.
Note the difference:
The 5000 - 5 loafs, two fish , seems to give both at the same time, 5000 men and then in addition women and children
The 4000, loaves of bread and two fish, just says four thousand, seven baskets were left over.
16 But Jesus said to them, "They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat."
17 And they said to Him, "We have here only five loaves and two fish."
This was what they had. There is nothing said that anyone share their lunch or lunches. Seems he is persuming, as above. Isnt there something called inferring the answer? Using OT events, could it be possible to put 2 and 2 together?18 He said, "Bring them here to Me."
19 Then He commanded the multitudes to sit down on the grass. And He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke and gave the loaves to the disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitudes.
Note that Jesus took the fish and multiplied them. I cant find where Jesus MULTIPLIED THE FISH. Just as turning the water to wine Jesus is Lord of Creation. He doesn't create something out of nothing, but skips the process of taking water from the ground bringing it through the vine and into the grapes, the grapes maturing, and then expressing the juice and advancing the fermantation, makes wine.
This bread and fish the same way. Takes these elements and skips a few steps and multiplies the fish and bread. Remember He said that He was the Manna that came down from heaven, certainly a figure of speach that teaching that life comes from Him. "Man cannot live on bread alone, but every 'Word' from the the mouth of God" This is his explaination of how things got done.
20 So they all ate and were filled, and they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments that remained.
Note they were all satisfied, meaning not hungry, certainly a miracle in that because who at this time would be able to bring with the economic means a lunch that would fed not only their family but others as well.
JEsus taught this to the poor. In parable form, the "how to"
21 Now those who had eaten were about five thousand men, besides women and children.
We might in some areas be saying the same thing. But I understand that the Bible is telling us that Jesus fed everyone out of the five loaves and two fish. Some times in the past when I pastored another church, our pot lucks were didn't have a great deal of food. But after blessing it, everyone had their fill. At times I wondered if Jesus did it again and multiplied what was there.
Jesus didnt multiply the food, did he? The people were multiplied right?
I suppose my last comment for anyone who would care anyways.. is this.. seems to me that as long as we believe in the 'magic wand' theory and we are not interactive, using the wisdom of God himself, "all our pot lucks will lack".
Wish we would ALL use that BIG HOPE we say we have... that BIG FAITH we say we have, that LOVE for God and each other we say we have and stun each other using the wisdom of God. I wonder what in the world God would do then. And nothing beats a try but a failure huh?
What I read in the bible.. "my people perish for lack of knowledge"..

All I have ever seen falling from the sky is rain, snow and a few flying objects .....sadly so...
Never once have I seen food or clothing fall or arms coming down to hug me when I am crying.... or dancing angels when I am overjoyed..
All the prayers... hopes, dreams, longings, needs, urges...
are all right here within our reach.
pretty sad isnt it? that our minds have been filled with so much jargon its taken our life away.
