Well Just When I Thought I Had Heard Just About Everything...
Well just when I thought I had heard just about everything,I was on a secular site the other day and people in the forums were talking and responding to this one guy who said he wanted to meet a Christian woman to be his wife so they could practise "Christian Domestic Discipline".
What might you ask is THAT?
It's a marraige where people believe it is set up according to Biblical standards;where the husband is the authority in the household and the wife is submissive to her husband as it is fit in the Lord and her husband loves her as himself so that he disciplines & spanks her to keep her submissive & in line with the supposed Word of God concerning these matters.
*Disclaimer not my words or Gods but of CCD disciples.
He has the authority to spank & discipline his wife and has the audacity to call it Biblical and she also being in compliance calls this Biblical too.
Okay so lets call it what it is kinky,a fetish,a turn on to some;I know the marraige bed is undefiled yet to equate this with Gods standard of what a Christian marraige must be is ludacris.
They also state that it is usually concensual but if not she is outside Gods will & as her husband will be held accountable for her she had better get with the program if she really cares for & loves her husband & Christ.
They also had a sermon from John Piper on there who talks about wives being submissive to their husbands and he wrote Bible quotes to back that up.So they have taken his sermon on Gods Word and also twisted that as further "proof" of their sincerity & compliance to their version of the truth.I wonder if John knows? Well God certainly does.
Just when I thought I heard everything.... It seems that there are people out there who continuously find ways to distort "Gods Word" for their own twisted brand of truth. And whats really upsetting is that most people on this secular site think this guys a nut & that most Christians must be too.
This is just a thinly veiled excuse for domestic violence or relief from their guilt over a self-indulgent fantasy.I find the fact that they equate this to being Biblically mandated kind of creepy. I wonder what church these people go to?
By willfully using Gods name in vain and willfully damaging his wife both physically & emotionally and/or spiritually the husband is in danger of spiritual death.
Luke17:1 Jesus said to his disciples:Things that cause people to sin are bound to come, but woe to that person from whom they come.
