Trouble is swirling about on all sides. Times are perilous. There is a whirlwind of principalities.
God has picked me up and placed my in the palm of his hand. Though the storm rages without, I am fully protected in him. He has given me his peace. I rest in him. All is well.

What a day at work yesterday! It was one of those days anyway. You know the kind. Everything seems to be going the wrong way. I kept smiling and persevering and said a prayer and on and on the bad morning went. Then, in the lunch room I tripped-did the "save it, save it " dance but I couldn't get my feet back under my body and crash-I went down. Instant swelling and bruising so I was carted out in a wheel chair and taken to urgent care center. Praise God, no breaks! I am sore and keeping it iced a lot. So what can I do but praise God for an opportunity to rest. Much love Saints.

P.S. I will be catching up on my responses to my last few blogs. So sorry! I have just been slammed and not able to attend to things like I want to. Hugs!

I Think I Saw the Anti-christ Today-but no matter what comes... Sep 16, 2008 5:24 pm

No matter what happens we have only one passion, one cause, one purpose. That is to follow Jesus. He loves his little lambs!

Jesus knows His sheep. "We are the sheep of His pasture" (Psalm 95). 1 Peter 2:25 "For ye were as sheep going astray, but are now returned unto the shepherd and Bishop of your souls". He knows His sheep and we are His sheep.

The Shepherd of Love is seeking the lost
In paths that are rough and steep;
He’s calling the lambs that have gone astray,
He’s calling, calling His sheep.

Refrain

Out of your darkness of sin and shame,
Into His love, forever the same,
Come to Him now, believe on His Name,
O answer the call today.

The Shepherd of Love knows His sheep by name,
And tenderly leads the way;
O weary one, come to the Shepherd’s fold,
He’s calling, calling today.

Refrain

The Shepherd of Love our ransom hath paid,
And offers salvation free;
He’s patiently waiting for thee to come,
He’s calling, calling for thee.

Refrain

The Shepherd of Love now seeketh His sheep,
He seeketh whate’er the cost;
Behold, He is calling the wand’rer home,
He’s calling, calling the lost.

Who Are Your Friends? Sep 13, 2008 8:18 am

Hello Saints of God! It is an interesting study when we think about our friends, who they are, why we feel drawn to them.

There is an unwritten universal law that says we are getting something from our relationships or we would not continue. Doesn't always mean the thing we're getting is healthy but nevertheless, we're getting something.

Likewise-a child that throws a fit probably has thrown previous fits and they worked for him.

My closest friends just recently moved back East and I truly miss them. We have been friends for fifteen yrs. We believe the same, entertain each other, trust one another, and do things for one another. They have prayed me through hard times, played a major part in big life changes like my daughter's wedding, the death of a close friend, the trauma of emergency surgery for my daughter. They have been there through the good times and bad.

I had another dear friend who died suddenly in 2000. We were very close for twelve years and I still think of her daily. When we met she was not a believer-when she went to be with Jesus-she knew and loved him. Hallelu!

Each relationship is so unique. I have on line friends now, but on line friends really are a bit different than real in your life everyday friends. There are a handful of friends here on B.C, that I trust and feel can be trusted explicitly. This is a very small handful. If I disappeared from B.C. they would come looking for me.

There is then a broader circle of friends, that is fun and way more casual. These are the folks whom I love to go comment on their blog posts and pray for them and enjoy them a lot. If I disappeared from B.C. they may make a comment on a post and ask a few people about me. They would most likely pray for me too.

Friendship is a wonderful thing. We all need friends. These are the qualities I look for in a friend:

lover of the Lord
honest
loyal
not too talkative
interesting

How about you? Any good friendship stories? Blessings this day!

Hello Everyone,
We have decided to cut back on things and try to economize by following a budget. I decided to drop the B.C. gold ball for one. I thought I would be dropping this service about the 12th of September. Brister Bate asked about when so I went over and checked my account status a few minutes ago. This is what I found out:

Order Status Payment Type Price Product
9/5/2008 -2:56- pm Approved - Free Order - $0.00 3 Month Gold Membership !!!!

They are giving me three months free! The really funny thing is that I tried to do the same on our satellite television company and for some reason they took Stars off but are giving me all the other channels! Now I have showtime, HBO, and Max! No charge.

Oh, good grief! I am glad to have my gold ball until December, though.

We'll see what happens tomorrow. Oh, BTW, I got a raise and got a free $25.00 bonus for opening up a savings account and I won a free hotel stay. I gave that to my daughter because she travels quite a lot. Shall I look for the Publisher's clearing house people to make a visit? Sure hope so. hehehehe God Bless.

Change of the Blogs Sep 8, 2008 7:35 am

Just pondering this morning that glorious autumn will soon be here! This gets me very excited. The seasons moving along. Time and seasons moving forward, always. Fall is my favorite. It brings God's glory into flaming prominance.

We cannot hold back the seasons but We often resist change. Holding on to the past be it good or not so good.It is familiar and comfortable.

The motion of the blogs is constantly moving forward. Well, except for the front page which has stayed the same for perhaps a month.

The usual pattern though is a forward progression, with new blog posts popping up and the old fading into the background of our memories. Sure, one can go back and read old blogs-but the movement forward is inevitable and bring new people, ideas and encouragments to the forefront. To find the old posts, one has to dig it up.

It occurs to me that this pattern is very healthy. We don't want to stay the same. We really don't. Sure, I would like to not get older as I was saying to Bill yesterday. Yet, we need to grow. If we don't move forward we stagnate and get all yukked up.

I have spent most of my adult life in the country, loving it. I have lived the pioneer life of making all my own bread, crackers, everything from scratch. Canning, chopping wood, living the simple life. It has been a blessing.

Over labor day weekend we took to the city and I realized that I am ready for change. The country tugs at my heartstrings but the city gives me a thrill! There is so much going on. I do not want to be retired at 67, and out dealing with snow seven months of the year. I believe we would rather step out of the door and go have some jo at the nearest coffee shop, go to some art galleries, browse the local shops, tour the public market. Change. Lord willing. Who really knows what God may choose for us, but I am open to change now more than I have ever been.

Back to the blogs. I believe and pray for a blogland of more respect and kindness. From several of the posts I have been reading and the comments, this is what is wanted and needed. To move past the milk and kindergarten phase and move into accountability and honorable interactions. Of course there will always be differences in beliefs. Perhaps B.C. will move forward and instead of name calling when someone is different or believes differently, we will state our beliefs in a way that shows the fruit of the spirit. I am not saying we cannot disagree, but it is time for the land of blogs to learn how to do so without collateral damage.

I know we can do it! There are so many wonderful people here. Some of the finest. Hope you have a blessed day, Saints of God. I'm off to work.

Etiquette and manners are so much appreciated by most folks. I tell my students at least once a year that if they want to succeed they need to work hard and be kind. Simple manners go a long way in telephone communication as well.

I have twice saved several hundred dollars by being persistent and polite. One time it was a $400 doctor bill, and the last time-my cell bill was $200 more than I expected due to a misunderstanding. They credited my account!

The real credit goes to God, for he does watch over every little detail in our lives. We have a part to play too, and that is to treat others with respect and courtesy.

There will always be opinions opposing your own. Remember to respect other’s views and opinions. If you want to share your own opinions, do so in a way that conveys respect. Keep in mind that you don’t need to change that person’s viewpoint.
Most likely, you will not, anyway. There is an interesting little experiment you can try. Try this: walk up to a friend or family member and put your finger on their shoulder/chest area and push--what happens? They most often resist and push back a little. It works the same way with pushing ideas. Sharing ideas does not produce the same Resistance.

Bear in mind that you’re writing for a global audience. Even though your blog may be a personal one, it’s still public and accessible to anyone. We are being watched!

Don’t be afraid to state your opinion. It may make your blog more interesting. If you’re afraid of criticism, you might need to think twice about keeping a blog.

Don't make your blog an excuse to make a personal attack on someone. Remember the old saying "If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all."

Don't use all caps- this is in effect, shouting.

Consider your language-cursing may offend some and thereby alienate potential friends.

If you have spell check, it doesn't hurt to use it.

Rude and childish words are not acceptable-even as an anonymous blogger. As much as good manners are required in the real world, it works the same way in blog-land.

If you’re emotionally riled by someone, think before you post anything. It is better to respond than to react. You may choose to ignore as well.

If you have a problem with a blogger it is a scriptural guide to email them personally.

We have all the answers we need and they are in the Holy Bible. Let us remember that:

Proverbs 25:11 A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver.

God Bless you Saints!

I do consider my purchases and try to get the most bang for my buck. Now that we have purchased a new car, we are paying close attention to the budget. The poor showing of B.C. to keep a quality web-site has helped us decide we will no longer pay for a gold ball for me.

Come on, this is ridiculous to have such a glitch for so long that the front page has been stuck for weeks!

I will not renew my on-star hands free phone service but instead bought a headset for travel/talk.

Paying attention to detail and being a good steward of time, money and resources is a strong priority for us right now.

We were even able to get a little break and go to the coast for labor day weekend. What a wonderful getaway. No children this time. We stayed at a lovely place downtown Seattle on the 30th floor and the spectacular view was to die for. We had room service breakfast and spent labor day at the public market getting only tea and having fresh seafood.

May God Bless you and keep you in his loving care.

Understanding Heresy Sep 3, 2008 8:39 pm

Heresies rely on human insight and wisdom rather than God's Word.
Paul writes against any philosophy of life based only on human ideas and experiences. Paul himself was a gifted philosopher, so he is not condemning philosophy. He is condemning teaching that credits humanity, not Christ, with being the answer to life's problems. That approach becomes a false religion. There are many man-made approaches to life's problems that totally disregard God. To resist heresy you must use your mind, keep your eyes on Christ, and study God's Word.

Heresies are attempts to reach God by human means.
We cannot reach up to God by following rules of self-denial, by observing rituals, or by practicing religion. Paul isn't saying all rules are bad. But no keeping of laws or rules will earn salvation. The Good News is that God reaches down to human beings, and he asks for our response. Man-made religions focus on human effort; Christianity focuses on Christ's work. Believers must put aside sinful desires, but doing so is the by-product of our new life in Christ, not the reason for our new life. Our salvation does not depend on our own discipline and rule-keeping, but on the power of Christ's death and resurrection.

Heresies can be discovered through asking probing questions.
We can guard against man-made religions by asking these questions about any religious group: (1) Does it stress man-made rules and taboos rather than God's grace? (2) Does it foster a critical spirit toward others, or does it exercise discipline discreetly and lovingly? (3) Does it stress formulas, secret knowledge, or special visions more than the Word of God? (4) Does it elevate self-righteousness, honoring those who keep the rules, rather than elevating Christ? (5) Does it neglect Christ's universal church, claiming to be an elite group? (6) Does it teach humiliation of the body as a means to spiritual growth rather than focusing on the growth of the whole person? (7) Does it disregard the family rather than holding it in high regard as the Bible does? Author unnoted.
Blessings, all.

What A Week! New Car-New Challenges Aug 23, 2008 7:25 am
599 Views
It has been a week! Blessings and challenges. We pick up my daughter at the airport today for a memorial service. My daughter's half sister passed away at age 45 from cancer.

Many of that family drink-so I know it will be a drinking/crying time. Not too many from my X-husbands family are saved. My Grandchildren will be going so we are praying that the Lord will protect all proceedings.

I will be focusing on the book I am writing and will be back to school this week as well. Then there is my SEO. Search engine optimization work. So busy.

A blessing to share is that we bought a new car! A 2008 Equinox. Very beautiful and fun to drive. It is all wheel drive so we can get around well enough in the snow! My first brand new car!

An interesting story:
My daughter took my picture when I was at her store visiting. As we looked at it, I asked her,
"Do you see that cross?"
She looked and answered,
"Yes."
Then she looked at me and exclaimed,
"you're not wearing your cross!"
We called over my young daughter and asked her to describe my jewelry and clothes and guess what?
Yes, she described my cross necklace! We asked a few strangers in the store too, and they saw it.
The picture is on my cell phone, so I will post it hopefully, this week. It is not a tan line either.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. Many blessings to all. Will be spending time in prayer and praise. Hugs-Rhonda
