Trouble is swirling about on all sides. Times are perilous. There is a whirlwind of principalities.
God has picked me up and placed my in the palm of his hand. Though the storm rages without, I am fully protected in him. He has given me his peace. I rest in him. All is well.

Should I do my hair auburn? This body is on loan from hair mixer and so is the hair style and color. Sheesh, this is crazy! Should I stay brunette or go red?

Chat with me over coffee this morning? Oct 8, 2008 10:27 am

Good morning! Well, here I am on the second day home from work with strep throat. I'm sort of enjoying this mandatory rest, but know it puts a burden in my class.

Hope all is well with you. Big hug. Yesterday when I went to pick up my medicine it was sunny and golden orange out. There were leaves blowing gently across the road and occasionally I saw a little shower of falling leaves as a breath of wind touched the trees. GEORGEOUS! I love fall. The cool nights make for the best sleeping, don't you think? I can snuggle into my goosedown and just be blessed!

I have my pumpkin candles going and my house decorated for fall with all the warm and rich cosy colors. Oranges, reds, browns, yellows.Mostly for decorating, I put out baskets of squash, apples, pears etc. I have garlands of bright silk autumn leaves that I put in the kitchen window and wherever- in my oak coat rack. I made one of those orange Chinese lantern bouquets with little dried purple flowers. My dishes already fit it because they are gold, with purple grapes and orange and green leaves.
Let me just say this, my place is not immaculate. It is comfy. I was raised in an immaculate house and always felt the house and its contents were of prime importance. Yikes! My stained glass lamps look beautiful and I have lots of art. Yesterday I made an apple dessert and I must say it turned out wonderful. The aroma of cinnamon throughout the rooms was fabulous. I have some spice tea I picked up at the Public market in Seattle. That stuff is good!

After nearly three years of having a gold ball on B.C. I am letting that go in Nov. or Dec. I forget when exactly but they gave me three free months! It is a bit sad, but I am really working on the budget because as I may have mentioned we bought a brand new SUV. So I am cooking and using all the food in the freezer instead of being such a bum like I usually am! I used to be a great cook but for many years now I am what I call a costco cook. Maybe I will get better at cooking now. I need to pick up a cheese grater with bigger grates and a pastry cutter.

Well, guess I'm running down on this chit chat. Hope you have a great day! I know some of you are in spring-so enjoy the blooming of the crocus' and in places you are probably in bed asleep or should be! Wherever you are and whatever you are doing-May God meet you there. Love to you, Rhonda

Your Mission Field Oct 8, 2008 9:43 am

Hello Saints of God,

By mission field I refer to that vast area called the world. Some say it's outside our front door, but honestly, the way we conduct our lives behind closed doors is just as much a witness to our family and friends.

Case in point: my adult daughters were over visiting and rented a movie that I would not allow them to watch. They were not very happy with me at the time, but I do not believe as I do and choose as I choose to please people. My home is our sanctuary and let's just say I keep a guard at the gate.

Every day and every decision we make as we walk this path with Jesus is a testimony that may influence others. How many times have you heard someone of the world say statments such as:

"they say they are Christians, but they're more hypocrites"

or how about a statement like this:

"old Joe Smith was so religious, then he cheated on his wife"

Ouch.

The best testimony we have as a Christian is our living our life with prayer, integrity, and the love of Christ. I remember years ago being in rather desperate financial straits.
While someone saying they would pray for me would be a nice thought, what really happened is that a woman from the local church gave me cash! My heart was incredibly softened and there was no doubt about the love in her heart. I ended up going to this church. It was a wonderful group of people.

Everyday, when I go to work, I pray that I can touch someone-meet a need that needs to be met, comfort and love someone with the love of Christ. Christ in us draws men unto himself. GBU

Bellies With Stars

THE SNeeches
by Dr. Suess

Now the Star-bellied Sneetches had bellies with stars.
The Plain-bellied Sneetches had none upon thars.
The stars weren't so big; they were really quite small.
You would think such a thing wouldn't matter at all.
But because they had stars, all the Star-bellied Sneetches
would brag, "We're the best kind of Sneetch on the beaches."

With their snoots in the air, they would sniff and they'd snort, "
We'll have nothing to do with the plain-bellied sort."
And whenever they met some, when they were out walking,
they'd hike right on past them without even talking.

When the Star-bellied children went out to play ball,
could the Plain-bellies join in their game? Not at all!
You could only play ball if your bellies had stars,
and the Plain-bellied children had none upon thars.

When the Star-bellied Sneetches had frankfurter roasts,
or picnics or parties or marshmallow toasts,
they never invited the Plain-bellied Sneetches.
Left them out cold in the dark of the beaches.
Kept them away; never let them come near,
and that's how they treated them year after year.

Then one day, it seems, while the Plain-bellied Sneetches
were moping, just moping alone on the beaches,
sitting there, wishing their bellies had stars,
up zipped a stranger in the strangest of cars.

"My friends, " he announced in a voice clear and keen,
"My name is Sylvester McMonkey McBean.
I've heard of your troubles; I've heard you're unhappy.
But I can fix that; I'm the fix-it-up chappie.
I've come here to help you; I have what you need.
My prices are low, and I work with great speed,
and my work is one hundred per cent guaranteed."

Then quickly, Sylvester McMonkey McBean
put together a very peculiar machine.
Then he said, "You want stars like a Star-bellied Sneetch?
My friends, you can have them . . . . for three dollars each.
Just hand me your money and climb on aboard."

They clambered inside and the big machine roared.
It bonked. It clonked. It jerked. It berked.
It bopped them around, but the thing really worked.
When the Plain-bellied Sneetches popped out, they had stars!
They actually did, they had stars upon thars!

Then they yelled at the ones who had stars from the start,
"We're exactly like you; you can't tell us apart.
We're all just the same now, you snooty old smarties.
Now we can come to your frankfurter parties!"

"Good grief!" groaned the one who had stars from the first.
"We're still the best Sneetches, and they are the worst.
But how in the world will we know," they all frowned,
"if which kind is what or the other way 'round?"

Then up stepped McBean with a very sly wink, and he said,
"Things are not quite as bad as you think.
You don't know who's who, that is perfectly true.
But come with me, friends, do you know what I'll do?
I'll make you again the best Sneetches on beaches,
and all it will cost you is ten dollars eaches.

Belly stars are no longer in style, " said McBean.
"What you need is a trip through my stars-off machine.
This wondrous contraption will take off your stars,
so you won't look like Sneetches who have them on thars."

That handy machine, working very precisely,
removed all the stars from their bellies quite nicely.
Then, with snoots in the air, they paraded about.
They opened their beaks and proceeded to shout,
"We now know who's who, and there isn't a doubt,
the best kind of Sneetches are Sneetches without."

Then, of course those with stars all got frightfully mad.
To be wearing a star now was frightfully bad.
Then, of course old Sylvester McMonkey McBean
invited them into his stars-off machine.
Then, of course from then on, you can probably guess,
things really got into a horrible mess.

All the rest of the day on those wild screaming beaches,
the Fix-it-up-Chappie was fixing up Sneetches.
Off again, on again, in again, out again,
through the machine and back round about again,
still paying money, still running through,
changing their stars every minute or two,
until neither the Plain- nor the Star-bellies knew
whether this one was that one or that one was this one
or which one was what one or what one was who!

Then, when every last cent of their money was spent,
the Fix-It-Up-Chappie packed up and he went.
And he laughed as he drove in his car up the beach,
"They never will learn; no, you can't teach a Sneetch!"

But McBean was quite wrong, I'm quite happy to say,
the Sneetches got quite a bit smarter that day.
That day, they decided that Sneetches are Sneetches,
and no kind of Sneetch is the BEST on the beaches.
That day, all the Sneetches forgot about stars,
and whether they had one or not upon thars.

The days of "easy " Jesus Oct 3, 2008 7:33 am

Hello Saints of God,

3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

3:6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,

3 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

There is an "easy" Jesus movement growing. Please, Saints, be cautious. The movement reminds me of the payday loan companies, they give you an easy answer-but boy do you pay later! Possibly eternally. In this heretical system, the adherents hear what tickles their ears and the clergy of this fairy tale are more than happy to do the tickling. Those who are professing false doctrine "comfort the believers" by means of a pacificer but a pacifier is just as it sounds, only a plastic plug. It's feel good religion.

No surprise Saints, there will be many tricksters and there is one way to know truth-to study the word of God.

This is a serious post, and these are serious times. We will not meet the fire with a trikle of water but the the power and full force of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Be blessed.

Remember Saints to study the Holy Bible Wholly!

Psalm 24

1 The earth is the LORD's, and everything in it,
the world, and all who live in it;
2 for he founded it upon the seas
and established it upon the waters.

3 Who may ascend the hill of the LORD ?
Who may stand in his holy place?

4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart,
who does not lift up his soul to an idol
or swear by what is false. [a]

5 He will receive blessing from the LORD
and vindication from God his Savior.

6 Such is the generation of those who seek him,
who seek your face, O God of Jacob.

For too long man has tried his way to sway people.
Man is incapable of swaying people for God.
Man is incapable of living the Christian life.

Only God, inside of man, can live the Christian life.
Only God inside of man can sway people to Himself.
Only when God, inside of man, is lifted up on high,
can He draw all men to Himself. Edjehu

Hello Saints of God!
What an exciting time we are in! I have a sense of anticipation. We are in the eleventh hour and as a bride who is adorned for her groom I have this same eager and nervous expectancy.

We are always in the process of "history in the making" and I know that there will be some major changes ahead. The economic situation (which I have seen coming for a couple of years she boasted) sorry , the election in November-let me tell you I think Obama will take it, because people want a change.
If I am wrong, I'm wrong, and that's ok because I was wrong once, and lightning didn't strike me dead! We shall see.

A very close family member just lost 100k when WAMU was taken over by citi so there is more action than speculation in a few areas. Fortunately, this will not effect her lifestyle in any way. It is indicitive of the seriousness of the economy now though.

There always has been and always will be (this side of glory) strong differing opinions about finance, politics, and "religion". There will always be different factions. The pre-the mid-the post- tribbers. Except Marilyn. She's pan. It will all pan out. From Marilyn we should take our cue. Most often, we will never convince anyone who differs from us that our view is better or truer than theirs. Nor should we. The word of God is where the answer can be found.

Let every word that passes our lips be as golden apples in pictures of silver. Let the fruit of our lips be in all ways pleasing to God and without strife and self glory.

Blessings to you all. In Jesus.

Tribulation Supplies/ MREs are yum yum Sep 28, 2008 9:52 am

MREs are actually very good but very very expensive. I have tried the dried food and it is second best to MREs. The truth is -I find preparation fun. Even as a child, I would get home from school everyday and work on the bomb shelter.
My mother would often call down the stairs, "RHONDA! What did you do with the canned corn?" Yes, I had canned food and empty milk jugs washed out and a few drops of bleach in the water. I had blankets and pillows, a first aid kit and actually sat down there quite a bit waiting for the bomb to drop.

Then as an adult I moved to the wilds of Idaho next to the Canadian border and was really in survival situations. No electricity, no running water, but instead-a well and an outhouse and a wood cook stove and wood heating stove. I baked all our bread, crackers, cookies-you name it. I was in my early twenties, wore a gun on my hip, logging boots and long skirts and was a "back to the lander". We had parties up on the mountain, drank home brew, played our own music, kept our own sourdough close to the heart, and generally had a blast.

As the years went by, I changed. My marriage failed, I began a relationship with the Lord, got a college degree and moved from the wilds to a small rural community.

Y2K was so much fun for me. I collected 30 lbs. of chocolate pudding, 150 pounds of oats, and on and on. My friend always laughed about the chocolate pudding and said I was funny. I actually know that bare essential survival food can get discouraging and it is good to plan in some "treat" food. Well, Y2K never panned out as many thought, so we ate lots of oats and I gave much food to the local food bank.

I have considered the great tribulation. There is really no way to collect enough food or anything else to be ready. The only way to be ready for anything that may happen from death, to injury to atomic bombs is to stand in the safe place. The HOLY place that is Jesus Christ. Oh, the plans of men! How ironic it would be to have a bunker of everything to survive five yrs. and be on an operating table getting a gall bladder removal when the stuff hits the fan. How easily desperate people could come to get all that food, and we could not as Christians not give them food! So it could be gone in two months-not five years. But as God provided manna from heaven for the Israelites-so I believe he will provide for his children. He will not fail us. Yes, I still keep a lot of food on hand. I have found it helpful to give to others who need it. If indeed we walk the tribulation-we will walk as Israelites in the desert. We will follow our King, and not be without hope. Praise God!

Christian-like Sep 26, 2008 7:25 am

Approximately 85% of Americans identify themselves as Christians. Yet, we say we are Christians, but what about what we do as a nation?

Personally, some of the most anti-christ people I have ever met call themselves Christian. When I see them lie, go after vengeance, cheat, steal, and all other sort of lifestyle choices, I know they are not Christian. That is not comforting.
With this "Christian-LIKE" going on all over America, the term "Christianity" stirs some bitter feelings, bad relationships, elitist resentment, and plain ole bad will. In the ranks and out of the ranks.

Person to person and nation to nation.

If a follower of Christ and devoted adherent to the living word of God could be dropped into the country with no pre-assumptions, what would they think? He would look at the mega
churches and most likely wonder why the tables of the money-changers are not being turned over. Just wait. Justice will be swift and true.

They look at our "Christian pets" which are abortion and homosexuality. Truly, we who believe and follow after Christ will not practice such things, but certainly blowing up clinics of innocent people to enforce our morals is over the top. Stop killing or I'll just have to kill you!

Deception is running high and we are easily culturally fooled.
Jesus said very plainly that we are to love our enemies-not join them in sin. He clearly stated that we are to feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, clothe the naked, comfort prisoners.

How beautifully simplistic. This is apparently harder to do than one would think. Do not believe the lie that if you accept Jesus what you do dosen't matter. We must be accountable to Jesus commands. Jesus is not a lottery ticket,or get out of jail free pass, nor is he Santa Clause.

He is our Lord and Savior, strong tower, Shepherd of our Souls, Blessed redeemer, Holy One, The Truth, The Light, he is all we need, and will see us through each step in this life. Dosen't mean it will be a cakewalk, though. Blessings, Saints of God.
