Trouble is swirling about on all sides. Times are perilous. There is a whirlwind of principalities.
God has picked me up and placed my in the palm of his hand. Though the storm rages without, I am fully protected in him. He has given me his peace. I rest in him. All is well.

Children, do not be afraid. Speak the truth. Give your lips over to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee.

Be bold and be strong in Jesus! Our God is mighty!

Mighty in love,
Mighty in power,
Mighty in hope,
Mighty in Joy!

Running through a field of land mines, with feet fleet and trusing heart. His hand is upon me, his word fills my heart. My lips speak forth.

Christian Violence Oct 17, 2007 6:36 am

Augustine was the first theologian to align the church in an offical way with the use of the sword, and it happened to be against a fellow Christian group, the Donatists.

Augustine justified the use of force by arguing that inflicting temporal pain to help someone avoid eternal pain is justified. Since God had given the church the power of the sword, Augustine reasoned, it had a responsibility to use it to further God's purposes in the world just as a stern father has a responsibility to beat his child for his own good.
Augustine had the emperor Theodosius criminalize the "heresy" of Donatism and attempt to persecute it out of existence. This set a tragic precedent for handling doctrinal disagreements for the next thirteen hundred years.

This militant mindset carried into the Protestant reformation. Hundreds of thousands of
"heretics" were slaughtered until the bloodshed became economically unbearable and unfeasible and a truce was called. (the peace of Westphalia)
While the use of the sword subsided in Europe, it continued in the New World.Christians slaughtered Native Americans as a means of conquering new land for Jesus.

While the violent expression of the Constantinian mindset has been largely outlawed, the mindset itself is still very much alive today.Whenever a group of "christians" try to enforce their Holy will on another group,( though
forcing their will by violence is no longer quite as available,) there is still the ugly forcing of will through other means. Bullying, verbal violence, etc.

In the name of the one who taught us to take up the cross, the church often took up the sword and nailed others to the cross.Hence, in the name of winning the world for Jesus Christ, the church often became the main obstacle to believing in Jesus Christ. GregB.

Hey, let's change this! Don't want to go there again! Blessings to you Saints.

Prophet/Prophetess Oct 17, 2007 6:24 am

We are given a sure way to hear the prophesy of old, by reading the prophets in the Bible. Bible prophesy is fascinating. Many men attempt to interpret the more difficult prophecies but we should ourselves allow the Holy Spirit to judge for us.

Today, God still speaks to his children through
prophetic utterance. It has come to my attention, however, that prophesy is often thought of as something that no longer is given from God, and I have also noticed that there is much fear surrounding the topic. Let us define prophesy:

a spontaneous manifestation of God's grace, received by revelation, (sometimes as a vision,or dream, at other times as impressions or thoughts) and spoken by the Spirit through a Christian.

Almost everything I have ever read on B.C. about prophesy is a warning to beware of false prophets, which is of course, biblical. Good idea, yet there is more. The bible speaks of the gift of prophesy much. Saints of God,so that we do not "throw the baby out with the bath water" let us look at prophesy with Biblical recommendation, and not just warning, but with encouragement as well.

1 Thess 5 verse 20 says simply: Despise not prophesyings.

And The spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.1 Cor. 14 verse 33

It is the duty of the prophet to speak forth that which God gives. It is the duty of the hearers to judge the words. The prophesy must agree with scripture and not include fleshly elements.

Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge. 1 Cor 14 verse 29

For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted. 1 Cor. 14 verse 31

Now, is it possible that a person may give a prophecy that is not of God, but of the flesh?
Well, of course! Has any one ever made a mistake? Well, yes! So, do we chop off their head? I do not. I have heard prophesyings throughout the years and some I knew and know to be of God, while some others were and are not. Yet, to make a mistake is not an unforgivable sin. It mostly is flesh and over-enthusiam. It is better to speak forth, than to quench the Holy Spirit of God. I am not speaking Saints, of deliberate attempts to lead God's people astray.

It is with great confidence, and with assurance, that we hold the truth. We need not fear, because we judge all things spiritual. We are the standard of God. I will try to post more on this topic tonight or tomorrow. Gee, work seems to slow down my blogging! Anyway, Bless you Saints of God. I would like to give an example of an old prophesy that God is bringing to the lips of todays prophets over and over again. Confirming, warning and comforting. Bless you Saints of God!

Generational Curses Oct 17, 2007 6:20 am

Perhaps you have a family history of alcoholism, perhaps suicide as been a curse to your family, perhaps many other things, even some we are unaware. Perhaps occultic practices are in your ancestoral heritage. Perhaps you are adopted and have no real idea what you inherited beyond your hair color, skin color etc. No biggie.

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1 v9

When we accept Christ Jesus as our Lord and Savior we are made new. We die to self, to the old person that we once were. Think of Moses, who comitted murder when he killed the Egyption, or the violence of Paul, when he was still Saul and persecuted Christians. Peter cut off a soldier's ear and denied Jesus. Oh good grief! They were by the power and spirit of God, changed and sanctified unto God.

When we are born again, the old excuses to sin don't hold up anymore. The power of God to raise the dead is working in us!
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things become new. 2 Cor. 5 verse 17

Not only do we renounce past sin in our families, when we repent; the renewing of our minds changes the way we are with our children, how they learn from us and therefore how our children deal with their children and we begin to inherit the blessing, not the curse. Isn't God good! Love to you and your future generations.

Jesus broke the bonds of sin and death at the cross! Hallelujah!

Give Us Clean Hands Oct 16, 2007 6:24 am

We bow our hearts
We bend our knees
O Spirit come make us humble.

We turn our eyes, from evil things,
O Lord, we cast out our idols.

So give us clean hands, give us pure hearts
let us not lift our souls to another.
So give us clean hands, give us pure hearts
let us not lift our souls to another.

O God let us be a generation that seeks,
that seeks your face, Oh God of Jacob.
Amen.

Thought to post this song as a prayer this beautiful morning. Love you, Saints of God.

This Lord's Day Oct 14, 2007 1:11 pm

It has been a wonderful day for us,in part because my two little grand-daughters spent the night. Every chance we get the kids are here.

Such precious little girls. They are so innocent and love to color, play with dolls, and play-dough.

The only little snafu was a bit of bickering between the girls. Bless these little girls hearts because they are still at that age that they listen to me. I told them about some other sisters I knew who always tore each other apart and they grew up and never stopped.

We talked about married couples who take pot-shots at each other and families are torn apart.
They understand this, young as they are.

My precious little one said her friends mom and dad fought and broke all the windows out of the house and the cps came to take the children away.
We prayed. How sad this is.

Let us on this Lord's day honor him. Bless you Saints of God.

Turn Our Eyes AwayFrom Evil Oct 12, 2007 11:09 am

I have in my office a little figurine of three monkeys. One has his hands over his eyes, one has his hands over his ears, and one has his hands over his mouth.

Hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil.

I love this wisdom. When I watch television, there is so much evil telecast, I rarely see anything eye-worthy. Mostly, I turn my eyes away.

When I hear a negative report, I will sometimes listen, and judge. If I always hear a negative report and it is gossip or disparaging, I close my ears to that voice or source. Wearing the helmet of salvation, that I hear only truth, and will know the voice of my Shepherd, and HIM only.

I ask the Lord, to give me wisdom and discretion that my lips will not utter foolishly but always to the edification and glory to God. Not that I always succeed. It is my desire, though, to speak life and not death, blessings and not cursings.

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Blessings.

News flash!! Read all About It! News Flash!!

New world order? Must be one of those obscure scriptures??

Here's the news flash: Victory is to the Lord Jesus Christ! and all those who believe on HIM. The devil loses, and we don't even need to fight for God. If someone has a strong desire to be the spiritual police, hope they love that feeling of banging head on wall. Coming against those who oppose God or even just oppose your (not you Paul)doctrinal stance will not likely win them over. So, do we need to fight for God? No, We just need to introduce Him to all we can! He is our strong tower, he is our shelter! Hallelu! Nothing is impossible with God.

Man tends to love to name who they think the enemy is, and go get em!
I say this: "Get em' God. Save their souls!" Hahahahahaha.
This is good oh yes it is! Jesus!

Jesus IS the Truth the Light and the Way. The only Way.

I noticed today that someone came over and disagreed with everyone on my post's comments.

I know who this is and all I can say to you is this: I am sorry that you have this in your heart to disagree with loving, spiritfilled comments made by the Saints of God. Yet, we are all where we are and apparently you feel excluded or somehow offended. You know what, that's ok, because we love you anyway.

God has a plan for you and me and all of us and please be encouraged that we've all just been old lumps of coal, but we're all gonna be a diamond someday! I pray! Love you, Rhonda

What a glorius day, Saints of God! It's warm, and the trees are ablaze with gold and even better, my favorite, crimson red!

It was a great day, a day wrought with accomplishment and compassion. I love my life.

B.C. is such a blessing as well. What a wonderful opportunity to meet some of the greatest people I have ever come across! True, we don't all really know each other face to face, unfortunately. I would love to know you all.

Well, I don't have a thing to say except I am grateful for all the blessings I don't deserve but I am receiving nonetheless.

Any prayer requests? Love you guys, Rhonda
