Trouble is swirling about on all sides. Times are perilous. There is a whirlwind of principalities.
God has picked me up and placed my in the palm of his hand. Though the storm rages without, I am fully protected in him. He has given me his peace. I rest in him. All is well.

Jesus is Lord!

Just Plain Logic Nov 5, 2008 7:17 am

It is a rare commodity these days. Has nothing to do with I.Q. and there is no curriculum for logic.

Many many years ago I went to a church and every time someone got sick, the pastor would passionately yell out, "don't claim that!"
I gave him the benefit of the doubt for a few months until the straw that broke the camel's back.

One Sunday afternoon we were at his home having dinner and he introduced me to a woman. She was introduced as Annie the Prophet. He began telling me how she sees people auras. I pointed out that that was not scriptural but new age thinking. Oh no, no he claimed. She really knows and sees things. Oh, okay. I observed her and as the afternoon progressed I saw the pain in this woman. She explained that she was desperately afraid and something seemed to have power over her. I offered to pray for her and began to walk over to her. She held up her hands and practically shouted,
"No! Don't touch me!"

After that day I talked straight talk to my Pastor about the situation but he did not see what I saw.

Yes, God heals! But denying a headache is irrational. Our words have power, but we are not the creator. If our words had that kind of power-oh boy, would we be in trouble. So with a sad heart I walked away from a wonderful loving pastor couple who were deceived. He walked back and forth telling the people they can have new cars, new furniture, and on and on.

Before I left, my parting words were,
"God's word applies anytime anyplace in any circumstance. Can you take this prosperity message to the starving people of Africa and tell them to just never say I'M HUNGRY!

This has been over 20 years now, and his church broke up and his marriage broke up. Very sad. I still pray for them.

My current church where I have been a member for a very many years is sort of going through a like thing. No, not physical prosperity, but a message that things are getting better all the time. Look around folks, we are spiritually bankrupt more than financially bankrupt. Unfortunately, they feel the power of the Holy Spirit lives at the Alter. I see it everywhere. Yes, I walk up to people on the street and lay hands on them and pray. (With their permission of course). If one is to be slain in the spirit, it will happen as the spirit wishes, not turned on with alter traditions and devices. I was indeed nearly slain at the Spokane Pow Wow. After going before about 7.000 people and laying hands on a man with cancer, I had to lay down - I did make it off stage. I was shaking and lay there 45 minutes in his peace. We love these people and will still drop in for a worship.
So we change, things change, any power position is in danger of being misled. Humility is a must. Just plain logic. Bless you Saints of God.

Don't let the Frog Boil! Nov 5, 2008 6:24 am

The boiling frog story states that a frog can be boiled alive if the water is heated slowly enough — it is said that if a frog is placed in boiling water, it will jump out, but if it is placed in cold water that is slowly heated, it will never jump out.

The story is generally told in a figurative context, with the upshot being that people should make themselves aware of gradual change lest they suffer a catastrophic loss. Often it is used to illustrate a slippery-slope argument. For example, many civil libertarians argue that even minor increases in government authority, which may seem less noteworthy, make future increases in that authority more likely: what would once have seemed a huge power grab, the argument goes, now becomes seen as just another incremental increase, and thus appears more palatable. In the boiling-frog allegory, the frog represents the citizenry, whilst the gradual heating of the water represents the incremental encroachment of government.

Things will begin slowly enough with our new President. I believe one of the first liberty's we will lose -in the next four years is the legal right to own certain types of hand guns.
This will be slow and perhaps be timed just at a precise moment after a disaster like what we saw at Columbine. People were really quite ready in many ways at that time to surrender their guns. Very tragic. What really needs to be banned is violent video games. Virtual killing and the practice of it hour upon hour cuts deep marks into the thinking process of those who practice it.

Abortion? Legal suicide?(Saw that legal suicide passed in our state last night) Gay marriage? Slowly but surely all these things will be more and more accepted and of course they already are being accepted, due in large part to media. We must be smart enough to turn that box off from the ears of our children so they are not being indoctrinated.

Just a reminder, accepting a little more sin, a bit at a time, does not make it not sin. Blessings to you Saints of God and Thank you for your ever faithful prayers that make every difference! Praying now more than ever for our people and nation. Amen.
