Trouble is swirling about on all sides. Times are perilous. There is a whirlwind of principalities.
God has picked me up and placed my in the palm of his hand. Though the storm rages without, I am fully protected in him. He has given me his peace. I rest in him. All is well.

Let's Talk about Sin Mar 30, 2008 6:55 pm
462 Views
Sin exposed - has that happened to you? You see, it is the whole purpose of the power of God's Word to penetrate and expose your sin. What church do you attend? Does the preaching of the church expose your sin? Does it show you what you are, and that your only place of refuge, by the grace of God, is the cross of Jesus Christ? Does the preaching of the Word of God that you hear in your church not make you feel good about yourself, but show you what you are of yourself and point you to the only way of escape, through the blood of Jesus Christ? The purpose of God's Word is exactly that. It is the act of God's mercy to pierce through that hard heart of yours, to slay you, and to remove from you your self-justifications.

I am fortunate, that my church preaches on and exposes sin. I will keep this rather brief, but there are biblical guidelines to exposing sin. Some sins, are to be exposed publicly-especially sins in leadership. Some sins are to be exposed by witnesses. Always, we are to pray in such matters. We are also to love the sinner, but not the sin. It has fallen to me to point out err in the church. Is it because I am high and lifted up? Hardly. It fell to me because God did the work through me. I saw sin, and met with the Pastor, who said he knew and agreed, and the ones in question were supposed to be not doing that anymore. It was a few weeks later that this sin cycle was broken. I actually did no confronting or "accusing". Another time I was sent directly to the home of a woman harboring sin and she came right out with her sin, and what she was doing. I had no idea. I confronted her. I looked up the scriptures. She made her choice, she never came back. This is not a holier than thou job description. This is the job of every believer and lover of the Saints of God.We are all accountable to one another in these matters.

We are not to entreat the brethren as enemies nor are we to be accusers as is the devil. The devil just screams sinner sinner with no productive or specific errors. The devil reminds of past sins and grievances and already dealt with issues. We should always, always be led to the cross for the work that needs be done will only be done there.Holy spirit conviction and the word of God.

The Lord also hath put away thy sin. Thou shalt not die. Oh, wonderful words, words that mean that God, through Christ, erased our sin from His book, not simply put it away to be retrieved possibly in the future. That word "put away, forgive" means "send away" - send away in everlasting forgiveness, that God actually placed them upon His Own Son on the cross. He poured out the wrath and the judgment that our sins deserved so that those sins are put away, they are forgiven, they have been paid in the blood of Jesus Christ. That is the gospel, II Corinthians 5:21, "He hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." Oh, glorious gospel. He suffered. He endured the cruel death of the cross, bearing all the judgment of God against us. In Him, God has pardoned the sins of His people. All our sins - those utterly inexcusable, indefensible, perverted sins. He has paid the price.

Hallelujah! Glory to God. He has loved me, a big ole sinner!

Years ago, I was very very poor and in need of transportation. There was no public transit option. I had an idea! If I could ask for a little help from many sources, it would not be too large of a burden for any one source. Being a Christian, I thought the perfect solution was to send a letter explaining the circumstances to many churches. Like, I forget the exact number, but it was over 50. I was certain that the money would come and the body of Christ would pitch in.
How naive I was! I did not hear back from a single solitary church. These were hand written and sincere letters.

I still believe and know that the body of Christ is willing to step up to the plate and meet the needs of it's members. This is my proposal to you. If someone is in dire need of some $ and we were to all pitch in a little, would that not work? I want to do this for someone here at B.C.

Let us help our sister in Jesus! What think ye Saints?

So! The floods will rise up, and the Lord will be our refuge and fortress. The ark of our salvation. Selah!

So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him. Isaiah 59 verse 19

Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in HIS Holy place? He that hath clean hands and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive the blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation. Psalm 24

Behold I give you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven. Luke 10 verses 19 and 20

Just What if People... Mar 27, 2008 5:28 pm

What if when people revile and curse us and call us names, we take the high road and
being reviled--we bless them, and being persecuted--we suffer it, without self gain?

What if when someone asks us for prayer, we continue praying for them, even after the crisis?

What if when someone has a need, we actually meet that need?

What if when our feelings get hurt, and we are tossed aside, we readily forgave the one who hurt us, and we take our pain to Jesus and set our burden down?

What if someone new and unlearned says something we know is not scriptural and we very kindly and with respect, tell them the truth in such a way as to not embarrass?

What if instead of the minimum, we always go the second or third mile, giving 100%.

What if we actually considered the brethren with honor above ourselves, taking the lower seat, stepping aside for them?

What if when we are feeling a little bit judgmental, we consider the beam that may be in our own eye?

What if when we see the brethren err, We which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. Galatians 6 verse 1

What if when were feeling down, we get up, we count our blessings, and we praise the one who set us free!

God Bless You Saints!

To The Respondants of "My Daughter Is Furious" Mar 27, 2008 6:57 am

Thank you Saints! If you ever think that what you say on this website doesn't make a difference, wrong! Your words, when my daughter read them this morning, turned her heart and mind to the mercy and love of Jesus. She sobbed in repentance for her reaction to this situation.

I told her not to be hard on herself, all is well. All of that anger finally dissapated to be replaced with love and truth.

I told her we have all been there, and as those who oppose are watching for us to fail, we will not. We cannot, as we turn to Jesus. Thank you again, dear Saints of God.

You have IMPACT! Hallelujah!

It is the one of an angel watching over two children on a bridge. It is quite large, about two and half by two and a half feet, and beautifully framed! Gasp, gorgeous! It was not expensive and I have wanted this for years!

For he shall give HIS angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. Psalm 91 verse 11

The painting shown is only similar, I could not find the one I have.

My Daughter Is Furious! Mar 26, 2008 6:17 pm

Well, not now. She has been stomping her foot angry today. Here's the rub:

A boy at school tells the teacher that my daughter is always talking about Jesus and he doesn't want to hear it. My daughter has made it clear to him she doesn't want to hear his music which she thinks is very inappropriate. They are on this track.

He especially loves to choose songs that glorify satan because these are most effective to meet his goal.

I tell her she needs to stay away from him because he is free to listen to music/sing just as she is free to listen/sing. For a good hour this was unacceptable to her. I told her there is nothing the school will do and they will not make him stop singing for you! She was furious.

"Daughter", says I, "You are adamant about witnessing to people at school. You lay your bible out, you pray, and you are concerned that you are a good witness to others, right?"

"Yes!" says she.

"Well, baby, this is where the rubber meets the road right here. Are you willing to give up your Christian witness so you can pursue this battle? It is easy to walk the walk when everything is hunky-dory, but now, it is not such a piece of cake. Do you really think anything good will come of preaching at him or even to him at this point? Will he hear you? You have a choice, to walk away, and do not bother with him or his music/song. After all, the witness you walk with is for him. Not for your goody two shoes friends who agree with you, but for him."

I know it is hard. I have made mistakes meself. I shared my mistake with my daughter. Yes, it was a blog. We all can be drawn in to battle. It is certainly a right we have. Does it glorify the Lord, though. Or is it pride and flesh?

When I shared that even I blew it, actually let her read it, shared that I had to ask forgiveness, and sympathized with her, she got it!

She sort of melted at the truth of Christ. We will talk again before she meets up with this boy. She needs to practice her tactic of kind withdrawal and lay this to rest. It's up to her, because she has the authority. The Kingdom authority. I am so blessed by her.

I share this story with you today, because the same type of stuff regurgitates round and round the blogs, year after year.

This was victory in Jesus! A testimony in obedience. Bless you Saints!

Giving up Rights Mar 26, 2008 7:11 am

I must admit I have had this post in hiding for several days now, and I don't really care for it that much? Yet this morning I needed to decide to delete or post, so I posted. God Bless.

It's been said before:

I have a right to be mad!

I have a right to be sad!

I have a right to not forgive!

I have a right to not trust!

Well, the world is very, very concerned about its "rights" and maybe this is because of all its many wrongs.

The world is full of wrongs, in

iniquity
injustice
poverty
depression
hatred
variance
disease
torment
dispair and many more.

And for all the ills and wrongs and wicked imaginations of man, Jesus, willingly gave up his life that we might live, and live in freedom and victory. Leaving behind all the wrongs and all the rights, to walk in HIS Kingdom light. This love He has for us is exquisite, beyond words and only deep praise and worship can satisfy the love and yearning I have for my Dear and Precious Savior. God Bless you Saints.

Hallelujah! Glory to God.
